Summer in Design Den at the Mayborn Museum
Join us this summer in Design Den as we make, tinker, and create around different themes in Design Den! Some activities in Design Den will be provided for all ages, while activities taking place in Design Den Studio (the back area) will require that participants are 8 years old or older. Design Den Studio participants will be required to sign in on a release form before entering Design Den Studio. If the participant is under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian will be required to sign in the participant. Special activities in Design Den will be offered on the following dates in July:

Try your hand at painting a mural – no experience needed! Under guidance from ARTPrenticeship’s 2019 apprentices and creative team, join us for the experience of a lifetime.

Sewing
Create with materials and fabric by embroidering designs. Design Den Studio will be sewing and creating embroidery with sewing machines. • July 1 - 3, 5, 8 - 12, & 15 - 19 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm & 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm • Saturday, July 13 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Building
Make your own dowel rod sculpture or wooden creation. Tinker with string art in Design Den Studio. • July 29 - 31 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm & 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Ask a Master Gardener “Call Line”
Call 254-757-5180 - Tuesdays and Thursdays - 1:30 until 4:30 pm Master Gardeners are available to answer your gardening questions. On other days, just leave your name and call back number with your question and a Master Gardener will return your call.
NEEDS USED TOOLS AND VOLUNTEERS!
The organization is accepting home repair & building tools, working and non-working; hardware such as screws, nails, cabinet and drawer pulls and hinges; gasoline powered tools and craft materials. Set to open later this month at 430 Lake Air Dr. in Waco, the new Friends for Life Tool Thrift Shop, plans to sell used tools of all kinds. The profits from this new shop will help fund the vital services Friends for Life provide for the elderly and people with disabilities. If you have tools you don’t want or need any longer, Friends for Life wants them. If have some time to volunteer, the new tool shop needs help in lots of different capacities. All you have to do to donate or volunteer is email tools@friendsforlife.org or call 254-772.8100, ext 501, ask for Easton. Pick up is available for large donations. Your donation is tax deductible within the limits of the law.
