er puro, estar exento de cualquier mezcla e imperfección… si hablamos de oro o agua el concepto es bastante útil, pero otra cosa es aplicarlo a las personas pretendiendo establecer que algunos son puros y otros no. Este absurdo, que se ha repetido en cada época, exalta odios, provoca guerras y el exterminio de quienes son considerados impuros por su raza, sus preferencias sexuales, su credo o sus ideas ante el miedo de ser contaminados por ellos. Pero la humanidad se ha mezclado de todas las formas posibles desde que el mundo es mundo, y mientras unos condenan las mezclas, hay espíritus libres que las abrazan como una forma de vida, conscientes de que la mayor riqueza se gesta en la diversidad. De esas mezclas han surgido maravillosas corrientes de pensamiento, expresiones artísticas y culturales como el flamenco. Miguel Poveda no es andaluz ni gitano, pero creció oyendo a los cantaores viejos. Su amor y esfuerzo para alcanzar la maestría en el cante le han ganado el reconocimiento como uno de sus máximos exponentes. Su espíritu libre e inmensa curiosidad lo lanzan a explorar otros géneros musicales, a trabajar con otros artistas y dejarse contaminar por ellos para luego volver a sus seguidillas, bulerías y coplas; demostrándonos, como muchos otros, que lo mejor de la vida no surge de ser tan puro ni tan devoto sino haciendo lo que nos haga sentir más felices, y libres, aunque para algunos, solo seamos locos. EL CHIP QUE ‘RAZONA’ A LA VELOCIDAD DE LA LUZ A CHIP THAT REASONS AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT No separa la memoria del procesamiento de datos, como lo hacen incluso las computadoras más avanzadas, sino que los combina en sinapsis, conexiones entre neuronas. Además, dado que no depende de electrones sino de partículas de luz, funciona a una velocidad fuera del alcance de las máquinas tradicionales. CIENTÍFICAS BRASILEÑAS DESARROLLAN UNA CURA CONTRA LA SOBREDOSIS DE COCAÍNA BRAZILIAN SCIENTISTS DEVELOP A CURE AGAINST COCAINE OVERDOSE Investigadoras de la Universidad Federal de Goiás en Brasil ha desarrollado una nanopartícula capaz de absorber la cocaína en la sangre, que evita los efectos de la droga, incluso ante el consumo de cantidades que podrían causar una sobredosis. Time Contact - Sobre tu espectáculo en México con las adaptaciones de Lorca, ¿es un intento de pedagogía por tu parte? Miguel Poveda - Quizá no de forma premeditada, pero si sirve, yo encantado. Lo que he intentado con este trabajo de García Lorca es aprender y disfrutar. El reto era ponerle música a los textos y que estuviera en el contexto de la letra, que tuviese la lectura que debe tener en el aspecto musical. Pero si esto sirve para que la gente más joven descubra a otro Federico o de repente se envuelva más en la poesía, pues genial. TC - La vanguardia del flamenco, ¿está más en la pureza o en la heterodoxia? MP - A día de hoy, después de que todo el mundo quería hacer las cosas más novedosas, volver a la raíz, a lo auténtico, a lo verdadero ha sido lo más innovador que se ha hecho. Creo que hoy en día con tanto enredo lo más innovador es cantar tradicional y clásico. Yo por un lado soy muy ortodoxo, pero no soy radical, también soy un espíritu libre, es decir, me encanta el canto clásico y tradicional porque me gusta reivindicar a los maestros y que la gente de las nuevas generaciones siga sabiendo sobre esos artistas. Pero por otro lado también siento la necesidad de moverme con libertad, experimentar otros campos y de sentirme cómodo en otras posturas musicales. TC - ¿Tienes la sensación de ser un artista que ha ido defendiendo banderas de apertura, libertad, de expresión, del arte? MP - Pues no por abanderar, ha sido por defender lo que creo. Lo que creo que es bello, natural y normal. Darle normalidad a las cosas es la única bandera que he cogido. Desde mi libertad y seguramente equivocándome no imponiendo mi razón, no quiero sentirme pesado de cosas que quiera el ser humano ver de mí que no soy. Me quito caretas y trajes y me voy mostrando más desnudo artísticamente para darle normalidad a cosas que yo creo que son naturales. Esa es la única bandera que llevo, la de la libertad y la de la normalidad. TC - Cataluña está más distanciada de España, del encuentro cultural que tú has defendido. En la defensa de los derechos de la libertad sexual nos encontramos con el feminismo enfrentado al tema de la subrogación. El nacionalismo, en lugar de disfrutar géneros como el flamenco y la copla, que unían a los catalanes, niega al otro, ¿qué crees que está pasando? MP - No sé por qué estamos radicalizándonos, estamos cogiendo con pinzas todo lo que se dice y las redes pueden ser muy crueles a veces y eso tendrá un efecto rebote que no puede continuar así, los extremos tan radicales nunca llegan a algo bueno. Yo lanzaría una bomba atómica de sensatez, de amor, tranquilidad, de escucharnos los unos a los otros, de respetar las opiniones de los demás, aunque no estemos de acuerdo. Pero sí creo que la sociedad te convierte cuando defiendes algo desde el amor y desde el cariño, depende de cómo lo expliques, de cómo lo titules o de cómo lo expongas, eso te puede convertir en un enemigo sospechoso o una persona que se fusile mediáticamente. Yo defiendo la igualdad totalmente, vivo con puras mujeres en mi casa, yo soy homosexual, y tengo mi lado feminista en el sentido amable de la palabra de la igualdad, pero no siento al hombre como el enemigo. Una cosa es ser feminista y otra cosa es ser la enemiga del hombre, por supuesto hay hombres crueles y hay que castigarlos al igual que a las mujeres. Sí, hay que erradicar el tema de la violencia y que sea castigado, pero eso no puede convertirse en algo radical, ni generalizarlo porque también hay hombres buenos en el planeta.

TC - Como catalán, ¿crees que esa radicalización que comentabas antes puede llegar al peor de los extremos o crees que siga existiendo la sensatez catalana? MP - Yo creo que hasta ese punto no va a llegar el catalán, pueden quemar ruedas, pueden pintar cosas, pero llegar a una guerra civil como la que vivimos no podría imaginar que sucediera hoy en día. Sin embargo sí está delicada la situación, de alguna manera se han fracturado familias y amigos por una cuestión de fronteras y me parece que si pudiéramos elevarnos del suelo y mirar lo que estamos haciendo con otra perspectiva, quizá nos daríamos cuenta de la torpeza continua que tenemos como seres humanos, bajaríamos y buscaríamos soluciones. Creo que es el fragor de la batalla, todo está turbio y contaminado a nivel espiritual y a nivel de convivencia, pero sería muy interesante que el ser humano tanto en Cataluña como en el resto de España hiciera un periodo de reflexión, de calma, de escucharse, de intentar empatizarse lo más que se pueda y de buscar soluciones aun entendiendo lo que cada uno siente, respetándolo, conviviendo de la mejor manera. TC - ¿Por qué tienes tanto interés por los poetas del exilio? MP - Quizá porque mis padres son inmigrantes, he vivido en un barrio de inmigrantes y siempre en mi entorno he tenido gente añorando su pueblo y su ciudad. A lo mejor eso me hizo empatizar más con los poetas que se exiliaron, más por un motivo tan cruel como fue la guerra, pero no ha sido de forma consciente. TC - ¿Sientes que en la poesía del exilio hay una melancolía? MP - Sí claro, hay melancolía, hay una pena, hay dolor de ver al país que tú amas enfrentado, lleno de muertos y reprimidos, un pueblo hundido en la miseria y en la pobreza. Supongo que para el que ha vivido en un país lleno de riqueza cultural y de libertades, y luego se enfrenta a que todo eso ha desaparecido y además ve muertes y más muertes, me imagino que en aquella época debe haber sido terrible. TC - Te criaste en la Badalona -ciudad de la periferia de Barcelona- de los 80, en las peñas flamencas de barrio, ¿siguen existiendo? MP - Cada vez menos, incluso algunos hijos de inmigrantes se han radicalizado, y es algo que a mí me sorprende mucho. Ahora la gente joven tiene otras inquietudes, como las redes sociales. Todos tenemos un universo de música, de cine y de comunicación en el movil y la gente ya no va a las peñas flamencas. TC - ¿Cómo describirías la atmósfera de aquellas peñas? MP - Las recuerdo con muchísima emoción, para mí era un escape, en donde me sentía realizado, donde me sentía yo. Luego volvía a la fábrica, trabajaba en la obra de soldador y lo detestaba, pero hacía bien mi trabajo porque quería tener contentos a los jefes, tenía que llevar dinero a mis padres. Pero cuando volvía a la peña quería que el tiempo se detuviera ahí, estaba en un entorno que tenía todos los elementos que a mí me encantaban. TC - Te vas de Badalona y hay un momento que cambia tu vida, el Festival de Cante de las Minas, ¿cuál ha sido el premio que profesionalmente cambió tu carrera y el que más te llenó? MP - Sin duda el premio del Festival de Cante de las Minas porque ahí yo aún era un desconocido para el mundo del flamenco, me conocían en Barcelona, en Cataluña, pero a nivel nacional me lanzó al mundo del flamenco. Me conocieron más, hice una película, me fui al festival de Venecia, cerraba los telediarios, me veía en todos los periódicos, me llamaron para hacer un disco, para

hacer conciertos, era el rey, eso me cambio muchísimo la vida. Me convertí en un profesional. También los premios de hospitalidad para mí significan mucho, como el hijo adoptivo de La Unión que es como si hubieras nacido ahí. TC - Empiezas tu carrera discográfica en el año 95, pero no eres muy prolífico sacando discos, ¿eres muy crítico con tu obra pasada? MP - La realidad es que ni la escucho, la ignoro en algunos casos. Este año a diferencia de otras ocasiones he sacado 3 discos porque celebraba 30 años de carrera y quería hacer una trilogía. La hice por separado pero esa era la intención y con los anteriores discos lo dije un poco en tono de broma, pero me encanta porque la gente ve la evolución y ve que no estaba dormido, que no he estado quieto y que no es el mismo Miguel de años anteriores al de 2019. Mi cambio es muy bestial en el ritmo y en la forma de afrontar el canto. En todo no me reconozco nada a como era antes. TC - Tienes una carrera lo suficientemente larga como para decir “me paro” o “sigo”, ¿cómo estas ante el futuro? MP - Tengo 46 años y todavía hay retos que quiero cumplir, quiero cantar mucho por aquí y he venido esporádicamente pero no con la misma asiduidad que yo quisiera. Siento algo en México, en Buenos Aires, en Colombia y en los países latinoamericanos que aunque no cobre lo mismo, siempre he querido invertir aquí. Siento que tengo material artístico para conectar con la gente, es decir, no soy un cantante de pop -no voy a triunfar por ahí- pero tengo muchos elementos, tengo el flamenco que es la música más bella para aprender a estar vivo, para mí estar vivo es ir a cantar a lugares en donde nunca he estado, donde no me conocen, ese es mi mayor reto ahora. TC - Artísticamente, aparte de la copla, el flamenco y la poesía, ¿qué te motiva? MP - La música de raíz popular, lo auténtico, en un mundo como el que vivimos ahora que todo es mucho más superficial creo que mirar para atrás y escarbar en las raíces de la música del mundo entero es algo que me atrae y que me inspira. También la música africana por ejemplo me encanta. Todo eso que es auténtico me emociona, porque parece que hoy en día se ha perdido y de repente un día se conserva una tradición musical de los que cantaban a los antepasados. Todo ese legado me inspira. TC - Ya has trabajado con Juan Gabriel, con Chabela, con Eugenia León, ¿vas a seguir trabajando con México? MP - Me encanta, pero no solo quiero centralizarme en música mexicana. El tango me apasiona, los ritmos peruanos también me gustan, todo lo que es Latinoamérica tiene una riqueza musical que me llama la atención y que de igual manera quiero conocer e indagar. TC - ¿Es el momento de volver a la ortodoxia? MP - Yo he vuelto, con este último disco, pero también hay un disco más de anécdotas y mas divertido con canciones de Tijerita, de los Chunguitos, que ese era mi barrio y que me gustó desde chico. Tambien he hecho un disco de flamenco clásico tradicional, dos guitarras, palmas en directo sin trampa ni cartón. Cuando escucho ese disco noto una autenticidad que echo de menos en otros discos. Está bastante conseguido en ese aspecto. En mis conciertos siempre lo central es el flamenco tradicional, pero quien sea que venga a verme, cante lo que cante, ya sea un disco de rancheras, de boleros o música de Pink Floyd, va a oir una seguidilla seguro. «

subrogation. Nationalism, instead of enjoying genres like flamenco and copla, which were things that united the Catalans, now denies the other, what do you think is happening? MP - I do not know why we are radicalizing ourselves, we are grabbing everything that is said with tweezers and social media can be very cruel at times, and that will have a rebound effect. We cannot continue like this, the radical extremes are never a good thing. I would throw an atomic bomb of sensibility, love, tranquility, and of listening to each other, respecting the opinions of others, even if we do not agree. But I do believe that society converts you when you defend something moved by love and affection, it depends on how you explain it, on how you describe it or how you expose it. That can turn you into a suspicious enemy or a target for media. I totally defend equality, I live with only women in my house, I am homosexual, and I have my feminist side in the kind sense of the word of equality, but I do not feel men as the enemy. One thing is to be a feminist and another thing is to be the enemy of men, of course there are cruel men and they should be punished as well as women. We must eradicate the issue of violence and it must be punished, but that cannot become something radical, or generalized because there are also good men on the planet. TC - As a Catalan, do you feel this radicalization that you mentioned before can reach the worst of extremes or do you think Catalan sanity still exist? MP - I think that Catalans won’t get to that point, they can burn wheels, they can paint things, but to get to a civil war, like the one that we lived, I cannot imagine that it could happened nowadays. However, the situation is delicate, somehow families and friends have been broken by a border issue and it seems to me that if we could rise from the ground and look at what we are doing from another perspective, we might realize the continuous blunder that we have as human beings and we would go down and look for solutions. I think we are in the heat of battle, everything is turbid and spiritually contaminated at the level of coexistence, but it

Time Contact - About your show in Mexico with Lorca´s adaptations, is it an attempt of pedagogy on your part? Miguel Poveda - Maybe not premeditated, but if it works, I'm delighted. What I have tried with this work by García Lorca is to learn and enjoy. The challenge was to put music to the texts and that it was in the context of the lyrics, that it had the reading that it should have in the musical aspect. But if this serves to let younger people discover another Federico or suddenly become more involved in poetry, then great. TC - Is Avantgarde flamento more in to purity or into heterodoxy? MP - Today after everyone wanted to do the most innovative things, going back to the roots, to the authentic, to the true origins has been the most innovative thing that has been done. I think that today with so much tangle the most innovative thing is to sing traditional and classic. On the one hand I am very orthodox, but I am not a radical, I am also a free spirit, who loves classical and traditional singing because I like to vindicate teachers, and that the people of the new generations continue to know about these artists. On the other hand, I also feel the need to move freely and experience other fields and feel comfortable in other musical positions. TC - Do you have the feeling of being an artist who has been defending flags of openness, freedom, expression, art ...? MP - Well, not just flags, I have been defending what I believe, what I think is beautiful, natural and normal. Giving normality to things, is the only flag I have taken. From my freedom and surely making mistakes, by not imposing my reason, I do not want to feel heavy on things that human being wants to see in me that I am not. I take off masks and costumes and I'm going to show myself nude artistically, to give normality to things that I think are natural. That is the only flag I carry, of freedom and normality. TC - Catalonia is more distanced from Spain, from that cultural encounter that you have defended. On the issue of the defense of the rights of sexual freedom we find feminism that opposes

would be very interesting that human beings in Catalonia and in the rest of Spain took a time for reflection, ton calm down and listen, to try to empathize as much as possible and to find solutions, even more to understand what each one feels and to respect it, coexisting in the best way. TC - Why so much interest for the poets of exile? M P - Maybe because my parents are immigrants, I have lived in a neighborhood of immigrants, and always in my environment there have been people longing for their town and their city. Maybe that made me empathize more with the poets who went into exile, even more, for a reason as cruel as the war, but it has not been consciously. TC - Do you feel there is a melancholy in the exile's poetry? MP - Yes of course, there is melancholy, there is sorrow, there is pain in seeing the countr y that you love, full of death and repression, and people sunk in misery and poverty. I guess that for those who have lived in a country full of cultural wealth and freedom, and then see all that disappear and they see deaths and more deaths, it must be terrible. TC - You grew up in the Badalona -city of the periphery of Barcelona- and in the 80s, with the neighborhood flamenco clubs, do they still exist? MP - Less and less, even some children of immigrants have become radicalized, and that is something that surprises me a lot. Now young people have other concerns like social media. We all have a universe of music, film and communication in the mobile and people no longer go to flamenco clubs. TC - How would you describe the atmosphere of those flamenco clubs? MP - I remember them with a lot of emotion, for me it was an escape, where I felt fulfilled and where I could be myself. After being in the clubs, I went back to the factory, to work as a welder and I detested it, but I did my job well because I wanted to make the bosses happy and I had to take money to my parents. But when I returned to the peña I wanted time to stop there because I was in the environment that had all the elements I loved. TC - You leave Badalona and there is a moment that changed your life, the Cante de las Minas Festival, which prized changed your career, professionally speaking, and filled you the most? MP - Undoubtedly the Cante de las Minas Festival prize because I was still unknown to the world of flamenco, they knew me in Barcelona,

in Catalonia, but nationally I was thrown into the world of flamenco. I became better known, I made a film, I went to the Venice festival, I was in the news, I saw myself in all the newspapers. People called me to make a record or do concerts, I was the king, so yes, that changed my life and I became a professional. Also, the hospitality awards meant a lot to me, like the adopted son of La Unión, which is as if I had been born there. TC - You started your recording career in the year 95, but you're not very prolific releasing records, are you very critical of your past work? MP - The truth is that I do not even listen to it, I ignore it in some cases. This year, unlike other times I have released 3 albums because I celebrated 30 years of career and I wanted to make a trilogy. I did it separately but that was the intention and with the previous albums I said it joking a bit, but I love it because people see evolution, and they see that I was not asleep, that I have not been quiet and that it is not the same Miguel from years before the one that is in 2019. My change is very bestial in the rhythm and in the way of facing the song. In everything I do not recognize anything of the one I was before. TC - At this point in your carreer, you can say "I stop" or "I continue", how are you looking at the future? MP - I am 46 years old and there are still challenges that I want to fulfill, I want to sing a lot here and I have come sporadically but not as often as I would like. I feel something in Mexico, in Buenos Aires, in Colombia and in Latin American countries that although I do not earn the same, I have always wanted to invest here. I feel that I have artistic material to connect with people. I am not a pop singer -I'm not going to succeed in that waybut I have many elements, I have flamenco which is the most beautiful music to learn to be alive, and for me being alive means going to sing

to places where I've never been, where they do not know me, that's my biggest challenge now. TC - Artistically, besides from copla, flamenco and poetry, what motivates you? MP - The roots of popular music, the authentic, in a world like the one we live in now that everything is much more superficial, I think that looking back and digging into the roots of the music of the whole world is something that attracts me and inspires me, for example. I love African music. All that is authentic, excites me because it seems that nowadays it has been lost and suddenly one day a musical tradition of those who sang to the ancestors is preserved, and all that legacy inspires me. TC - You have worked with Juan Gabriel, with Chabela, with Eugenia León, will you continue working with Mexican Artists? MP - I love it, but I do not just want to focus on Mexican music. I am passionate about tango, I also like Peruvian rhythms, everything that is Latin America has a musical richness that catches my attention and that I want to know and investigate in the same way. TC - Is it time to return to orthodoxy? MP - I'm back with this last record, but there is also another record of anecdotes and more fun with those songs from Tijerita, from the Chunguitos, that was my neighborhood and I liked it since I was a kid. I have also made a traditional classical flamenco record, two guitars, claps and live without a trap or cardboard, and when I listen to that record I notice an authenticity that I miss in other albums, and is quite well achieved in that aspect. In my concerts, the main thing is traditional flamenco, but whoever comes to see me, to sing whatever I sing, whether it's a record of rancheras, boleros or Pink Floyd music, you will hear a seguidilla for sure. «

El maravilloso Reino de Marruecos es un país musulmán, que se caracteriza por su estabilidad política y económica, superior a la del resto de los países de la región. Situado en el extremo noroeste del continente africano, Marruecos está bordeado por el Mar Mediterráneo al norte y por el Océano Atlántico al oeste. Su ubicación, de fácil acceso, y la riqueza y diversidad de su geografía, desde el Sahara con su colorido impresionante, hasta sus verdes montañas, sembradas de cabo a rabo, ofrecen una riqueza cultural sin límite y un sin fin de actividades para satisfacer todos los gustos. Nosotros, fuimos muy afortunados al encontrar a Morad, con quien cada ciudad y rincón, pueblo o ruinas romanas, resultaron una oportunidad para apreciar de primera mano, las costumbres de cada lugar. Deleitarnos con su gastronomía, sus tradiciones y artesanías y, para una apasionada de la fotografía como yo, capturar en imágenes la belleza de sus paisajes, sus ciudades y su gente. La ciudad de Fez es el corazón cultural y religioso de Marruecos, una de sus cuatro capitales imperiales y centro de aprendizaje medieval. Fundada en el siglo VIII a.C. tiene aproximadamente 9,000 calles estrechas, entre callejones y zocos, todos dentro de una muralla. La Medina de Fez el Bali, es la ciudad medieval y zona peatonal más grande del mundo y Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Un laberinto que en su corazón guarda la Karaouine, una de las universidades más antiguas

del mundo. Una de las mejores decisiones del viaje fue dejar atrás el hospedaje en hoteles enormes para sumergirnos en una aventura completamente diferente. Caminando por las callejuelas obscuras de repente una puerta se abre y tras ella encontramos nuestro Riad, una casa marroquí exquisitamente decorada, cuyo elemento más representativo es el patio central y donde se respira una atmósfera de paz. Riad en árabe quiere decir edén o jardín y hospedarnos en uno fue una experiencia única muy recomendable. Recorrer las estrechas calles de la Medina de Fez es como hacer un viaje al pasado para entender la dinámica de una ciudad de otro tiempo, la zona comercial es un paraíso para perderse entre zapatillas coloridas, bolsos de cuero, chaquetas de moda, dulces y exóticas especias; artesanías de cerámica colorida, textiles con patrones geométricos, lámparas increíbles y tapetes, todo producido siguiendo los métodos usados en la época medieval. Los restaurantes, mercados de carne, frutas y verduras, se suman para crear un mundo vibrante, repleto de aromas y colores que ponen en alerta todos y cada uno de los sentidos. Caminando por las angostas callejuelas y bazares pude capturar imágenes increíbles, a veces escondiéndome para no ser vista y recibir alguna mirada o comentario recriminatorio. Fez vive en cada uno de sus habitantes, lo que ahí se siente se queda plasmado en la memoria.

De pronto el sol desaparece y la oscuridad lo invade todo, vivir la experiencia de tirarse sobre la arena fría para admirar el cielo estrellado, es un sueño. Dejarse abrazar por el silencio de la noche que solo es interrumpido por el viento es algo extraordinario y contemplar el amanecer entre las dunas es una belleza absoluta. Una visita a Marruecos sin una parada en el desierto, no estaría completa... «

Continuando con las sorpresas, llegamos a Chefchaouen, la maravillosa Ciudad Azul, donde caminando de la mano

de un guía local vamos descubriéndola entre puestos de artesanías, gatos de diversos colores, fuentes y hornos de pan. Suspirando y abriendo los ojos ante la belleza de su casco antiguo, formado por pequeñas callejuelas empedradas e inclinadas, repletas de construcciones en distintas tonalidades de azul que te impactan visualmente y te enamoran a primera vista. Sin duda, al igual que en Fez, viajamos al pasado en esta diminuta ciudad construída en las montañas del Rif, en la zona noroeste de Marruecos. Tras un recorrido de muchas horas, una de las imágenes más impactantes del viaje sale a nuestro encuentro…la caída del sol sobre las dunas del Sahara. Completamente inesperado el espectáculo naranja que contrasta con el azul del cielo. Siento la inmensa suerte de estar ahí, justo ahí, al otro lado del mundo observando un paisaje que has visto en fotografías o en la televisión pero ahora sentada en la arena, fluyendo absolutamente ante imágenes surrealistas; siendo uno con la naturaleza y queriendo capturar en la memoria y con mi cámara eso que no quiero olvidar nunca.

The wonderful Kingdom of Morocco is a Muslim country, characterized by its political and economic stability, superior to that of the other countries of the region. Located in the extreme northwest of Africa, Morocco is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the North and by the Atlantic Ocean to the West. Its location and easy access, as well as the richness and diversity of its geography, from the Sahara with its impressive color, to its green mountains, sown from end to end, offers a cultural wealth without limit, and endless activities to satisfy all tastes. Undoubtedly I can say that the best way to see Morocco is traveling by land, even when the distances are long and the routes are usually hard, if what interests you is to learn more about their culture, I suggest you look for an experienced guide who has driven the country from end to end. We were very lucky to find Morad, with whom every city and corner, town or Roman ruins were an opportunity to appreciate, the traditional customs of each place, to delight ourselves with their gastronomy, traditions and crafts, and for those passionate about photography like me, to capture in images the beauty of its landscapes, cities and people. The city of Fez is the cultural and religious heart of Morocco, one of its four imperial capitals and center of medieval learning. Founded in the VIII century b.C. It has approximately 9000 narrow streets, between alleys and souks, all inside a wall. The Medina of Fez, ElBali, is the medieval city and largest pedestrian area in the world and a World Heritage Site. A labyrinth that in its heart keeps the Karaouine, one of the oldest universities in the world. One of the best decisions of the trip was to leave behind the accommodation in huge hotels to immerse ourselves in a completely different adventure. Walking through the dark alleys, suddenly a door opens and behind it we find our Riad, an exquisitely decorated Moroccan house, whose most representative element is the central patio and where an atmosphere of peace is breathed. Riad in Arabic means Eden or garden and staying in one was a unique experience highly recommended. Walking through the narrow streets of the Medina is like taking a trip to the past to understand the dynamics of a city from

another time, the shopping area is a paradise to get lost among colorful shoes, leather bags, fashion jackets, sweets and exotic spices; colorful ceramic crafts, textiles with geometric patterns, incredible lamps and rugs, all produced following the methods used in medieval times. The restaurants, markets of meat, fruits and vegetables, are added to create a vibrant world, full of aromas and colors that put on alert each and every one of the senses. Walking through the narrow streets and bazaars I was able to capture incredible images, sometimes hiding to avoid receiving recriminatory looks or comments. Fez lives in each one of its people, and what you feel there remains imprinted in the memory. Continuing with the surprises, we arrive at Chefchaouen, the wonderful Blue City, where walking by the hand of a local guide among craft stalls, cats of different colors, fountains and bread ovens, where sighing and opening our eyes we discovered the beauty of its old town, formed by small cobbled and inclined streets, full of buildings in different shades of blue that visually impact you and make you fall in love with the place at first sight. Undoubtedly, as in Fez, we traveled to the past again in this tiny city built in the mountains of the Rif, in the northwest of Morocco. After a journey of many hours, one of the most impressive images of the trip comes out to meet us as the sun goes down on the dunes of the Sahara. Completely unexpected, the orange show that contrasts with the blue of the sky, makes me sigh while thinking about the immense luck of being right here, on the other side of the world, contemplating a landscape that most of us have seen just in photographs or on television, now sitting on the desert sand and totally flowing before this surreal images; being one with nature and desesperately trying to capture in my memory and with my camera these images that I never want to forget. Suddenly the sun disappears and the darkness invades everything; living the experience of lying on the cold sand to admire the starry sky, is a dream, letting yourself be embraced by the silence of the night only interrupted by the wind, something extraordinary and watching the sun rising between the dunes absolute beauty. A visit to Morocco without a stop in the desert would never be complete... ÂŤ

¿Cuándo descubriste que esta era tu pasión? Vengo de una familia solo de pizzeros, he vivido toda mi vida en este ambiente. De pequeño muchas veces mi padre en lugar de llevarme al parque me llevaba a la pizzería, pero cuando de verdad descubrí que esta era mi misión fue cuando me di cuenta que podía viajar por el mundo. Hubo un punto importante en tu vida, donde alternabas la escuela con el trabajo y estudiaste la carrera de informática. ¿Cómo fue que decidiste dejarla y dedicarte a la cocina? Mi sueño es titularme de la carrera y lo voy a hacer este año como plan a futuro, yo siempre he trabajado y estudiado, vengo de una zona de Nápoles que se llama Scampia en donde para sobresalir tienes que trabajar y estudiar; ya que era un barrio difícil. Tenía que apoyar en casa, así que afortunadamente hacia las dos cosas, lo cual me dejo grandes enseñanzas. La pasión por las pizzas y por la tecnología son dos grandes tesoros que yo cultivo. La frase “Quien no conoce la oscuridad, no puede ver la luz”, de Enzo Avitabile, tú la mencionas como un estilo de vida, ¿por qué? Porque describe de una forma plena mi filosofía de vida. De pequeño tuve que luchar con una infancia difícil en un mundo bastante complicado, poco a poco fui logrando desarrollar mi sentido positivo ante la vida. Creo que cualquier problema se debe transformar en una oportunidad. En el 2018 la pizzería Vincenzo Capuano gana el premio a la mejor comunicación web y social, cuéntanos del proceso para llegar a eso… Hoy en día los medios sociales son medios controvertidos porque tú puedes salir a la calle con una pizza en la mano y empezar a gritar como un loco, ese video puede alcanzar millones de visualizaciones haciéndose viral, pero es un episodio aislado y

eventualmente la gente lo va a olvidar. El secreto que comparto en las redes, a parte de las ‘instastories’, es comunicar siempre un mensaje bien definido, ser muy específico en a quién me dirijo y cómo debo hacerlo. ¿Qué sacrificios has tenido que realizar por esta gran pasión que te ha convertido hoy en el Embajador de la Pizza Napolitana en Expo Milano, el evento mundial sobre comida? El más grande ha sido estar lejos de mis orígenes, de mi ciudad y de mi casa. Nunca pude hacerme a la idea de que para ganar bien y tener éxito tenía que salir de Nápoles. Fui uno de los primeros que salió, casi todos tenemos que irnos lejos para empezar a volar. Sabemos que te has convertido en el Campeón mundial de Pizza Napolitana en Italia y otras partes del mundo. ¿Cómo ha sido para ti rebasar fronteras?, ¿crees que en otras partes del mundo reciben igual este tipo de comida? Noto una diferencia muy grande entre el concepto de pizza en Nápoles y otros países. En Nápoles la pizza aparte de ser un momento de unión, es una comida prácticamente completa que tiene vegetales, proteínas y carbohidratos, se vuelve la reina de la mesa; sin embargo en otros países es un complemento, no es la parte más importante de la comida. La gente la pone al centro y la comparte, acompañada de otros platillos. ¿Cuál es el ingrediente secreto para ser un chef reconocido? No pensar en ser reconocido, creo que uno de los secretos más grandes es la humildad, Lo más importante no es volverse famoso sino tener algo que decir. ¿Qué hay en el futuro para Vincenzo Capuano? Mi proyecto más importante es volverme papá. Ser un punto de referencia para los pizzeros es importante, estoy agradecido y orgulloso, pero por el momento mi prioridad es ser un buen padre. «

When did you discover that this was your passion? I come from a single family of pizzeros, I have lived my whole life in this environment, as a child many times my father instead of taking me to the park took me to the pizzeria, but when I really discovered that this was my mission was when I realized that I could travel the world. We read that there was an important point in your life, where you alternated school and work, and that you studied computer science, how did you decide to leave that to become a pizza maker? My dream is to graduate from computer science and I will do it this year, I have always worked and studied. I come from an area of Naples called Scampia where to excel you have to work and study; since it was a difficult neighborhood and I had to help at home, so fortunately I did both things, which left me with great lessons. The passion for pizzas and technology are two great treasures that I cultivate. You mention a phrase of Enzo Avitabile "The one who does not see the darkness can not see the light", as a lifestyle, why? Because it fully describes my philosophy of life, as a child I had to struggle with a difficult childhood in a very complicated world, little by little I was able to develop my sense of positivism towards life, I believe that any problem should be transformed into an opportunity. a virtud consiste en no esperar recompensa, ni siquiera conocimiento ajeno por ejercerla. Nos lo recordaba Montaigne, el mismo que en el siglo XVI invitaba a aprender de los mexicas a aceptar la muerte. Observar en silencio cómo otros se adueñan de logros propios, trabajados con persistencia, debería ser un ejercicio obligado en las escuelas. Aprender a callar ante la vanidad ajena puede ser aleccionador sobre los devaneos de esta sociedad, ayuda a hacer una redonda en nuestra propia búsqueda del goce y el reconocimiento que tan mal nos prepara para la llegada del dolor, el abandono y la muerte. Pero ojo, supuesto virtuoso, no hay recompensa al final del camino. No hay boleto al nirvana de los bien portados. La historia dicen la escriben los ganadores, lo cierto es que la narran los sin escrúpulos, aunque pierdan la partida. Las tan mencionadas ‘fake news’ son la nueva forma de nombrar una dinámica que probablemente siembre libros de historia desde la antigüedad. Entonces, qué sentido tiene la nobleza, la honradez o el compromiso. Ninguno. Simplemente se trata de poner un poco de orden en el caos salvaje de la mezquindad que a todos nos levanta por la mañana. Esa fuerza necesaria para que el motor del yo llegue al otro y así acercar deseos a realidad en la medida de lo posible. En busca del éxito y el placer se cometen tropelías pero también se teje el ocio, se crea empleo y se hierven obras de arte. Los subsidios pueden ser un acto de conciencia social pero también una cómoda almohada de la que no levantar la cabeza, y no olvidemos que virtuoso también es el que acepta su condición de Sísifo matutino. El actual acelerador exponencial e infinito de intimidades, menoscaba el sentido de la virtud. La mercantilización de todos los actos, su necesaria exposición bajo el epígrafe de la palabra ‘experiencia’ para poder ‘exisitir’ de manera completa en la sociedad del 2019 sin ser un paria: sin amigos, sin trabajo, sin la información del día a día; convierte al virtuoso en un marginal. Entonces, quizás, estemos ante el verdadero reto de lo que Montaigne definió de manera exacta: “Es indigno de la virtud quien examina y contrapesa su coste según el fruto, y desconoce su uso y sus gracias”. «

The muchtalked-about “fake news”, is the new way of action that will probably sow history books from ancient times. So what is the point of being noble, honest and committed? There is no point. It is merely a measure to ensure order amongst the wild chaos of the pettiness that wakes us every morning. It is the necessary force so that the motor of the ego reaches the other and thus turns our wishes into reality as much as possible. When searching for success and pleasure, violent acts are committed, idleness is also woven, jobs are created and works of art are destroyed. Subsidies may be an act of social consciousness but they can also be a comfortable pillow for those who don’t want to get back on their feet, but let’s not forget the virtuous who accepts his condition as a morning Sisyphus. The current endless exponential accelerator of intimacies undermines the meaning of virtue. The commercialization of all acts, its exposure conditions under the heading of the word “experience” in order to “exist” in a complete manner, in a society of 2019 without being an outcast: with no friends, no job, without the day-to-day information; it converts the virtuous to an excluded being. So then, we find ourselves before the real challenge of what Montaigne defined exactly: “It is unworthy of virtue who examines and counterweights its cost by the results, and is unfamiliar with its use and beauty”. «
