Wicklow Terrace Council is considering revoking the reserve status on a portion of the reserve land in Wicklow Terrace. On Monday, a car lost control in the ice and crashed into a bank, rolling on to it’s side. On Sunday, an Australian travelling north on the Cardrona Valley lost control of his Apex rental car on ice, colliding with a bank. If you think it even might be icy, I can assure you it already is. By driving super slowly you can generally avoid injury if the ice takes you. Be alert! On Thursday we went to another crash where a 16 year old without a licence crashed and flipped his mother’s car, injuring his sister. Ridiculous behaviour!! We took a historic theft complaint about a grey PVC dive bag containing a 7mm black wetsuit, full length jacket & leggings, snorkel, mask, 2 pairs of dive boots and also a separate theft of fuel, stolen from the Hawea area. We have received a report of sheep being attacked by a dog or dogs at the same property near Albert Town, on two occasions within one week. Any dogs caught wondering or harassing sheep on this property will be shot. Please keep your dogs locked up over night and know were your dog is at all times. On Wednesday offenders went to a paddock and stole 3 metres of cut wood in the Cardrona Valley. They left in a Ford van and were arrested, but why would you take someone else’s property and hard work. Lazy!!! A male was seen digging out a tree from a property on Beacon Point Road and has left it ready to uplift at a later date. The owners were not present. If it’s NOT YOURS, DON’T TAKE IT!!!! Members of the Wanaka Rotary Club travelled up to Tititea Lodge earlier this month to carry out a weekend working bee.
