He Still Comes And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden. Genesis 3:8 We like to say we are looking for God, but we forget that He comes looking for us. It was in the cool of the day that Adam heard the voice of God call out to him; “Where art thou?” It could have been in the early morning before the heat of the day settled in. It could have been in the evening after the air had cooled. God came looking for him. How do we begin our days? Do we rise with thoughts of our daily calendar running through our minds? Are we already checking off our To Do list before our feet even hit the floor? Are we on the phone – texting, on the computer – emailing or flipping through the day’s worth of bills and debt before we even have our morning coffee? How do we end our days? Are we exhausted from the day’s stresses and strains? Are we tired from the encounters of the day – both good and bad? Did we forget to eat, hydrate and exercise our bodies? Where are we when God comes? God still comes looking for us. In the cool of the day He comes. Before we rush into our day or after it is over, He comes. He’s looking for us. He desires fellowship.
