Bookends For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. Take heed therefore, how ye hear. Luke 8:17-18
Be very careful of the people you have on either side of you. Ask God to reveal the heart of those who surround you now. Those who are on either side of you have access to your ears. Bookends are designed to prop up books on a shelf. Their purpose is to enclose the books so that they do not lean. Who are you leaning on? Bookends can go end to end and enclose the books in the middle, or if there is only one bookend, it can push the books up against the side of the bookcase to keep the books in place. Who is pushing against you…keeping you in place? Who is keeping you from moving? You have to know who is on either side of you. You have to know those who are surrounding you. Bookends are on either side of your head – where your ears are. They have access to your hearing. Who are you listening to? Be careful with whom you surround yourself. Be careful who you allow within your space, to touch your life, to speak to you, to counsel you, to advise you – to speak for you. W
e all know that a lie spreads around the world twice before the truth sees the light of day. Let’s clear up the drama by supporting our pastors, first ladies and families during times of trouble. Our church leaders are constantly in the spotlight and if we cannot enable them with kind words of encouragement and prayers then it is best to be quiet. With that tidbit out the way, let’s not walk around so solemn that we forget that being a Christian should have rewards. Ladies, let’s make use of those endless shopping trips and get a handle of some of the best social events we can attend together as Christians. Where our values and morals are not compromised and we get to feel special in the attire we debated about purchasing. First up, if your church is
having its Annual Christmas Party, or just a great event then let us know. Those dusty dancing, (oops), I mean shouting shoes got to come out the closet and rejoice at another opportunity to praise thru dance. Or for some of us, it’s just plain cardio exercise.
