Today we are celebrating the 300th edition of The Message

This journey taught us a lot about our destination Every step makes this journey memorable and beautiful

Akshima Malla Delhi: Today we are celebrating the 300th edition of The Message, in house newspaper of our JECRC University. It was started on February 15 2017. Over the years, we saw many changes and a lot of special editions in The Message and it got better with every new sunrise. The first 3 Special Editions are on anti-casteism, ban & censorship and photojournalism. For the first time, The Message was published in 4 pages to celebrate the joy of the 100th edition. The same tradition of 4 pages continues whenever there is a special edition or to celebrate any special event. The 150th edition followed the tradition with a new masthead. Alongside this, 181th edition celebrated the success of University with best placements. The 200th edition celebrated its own double century along with children's day. Back to back special editions the 223rd

This is the journey that how THE MESSAGE was evoluted. and 224th edition was for women and one was especially based on culture of Assam. Years passed and The Message kept publishing with its old classic blue masthead.

Kota: As a major virus outbreak in the 21st centur Corona pandemic has led to unprecedented hazards to mental health globally. While psychological support is being provided to patients and healthcare workers, the general public's mental health requires significant attention as well. According to reports, relatively high rates of symptoms of anxiety (6.33% to 50.9%), depression (14.6% to 48.3%), post-traumatic stress disorder (7% to 53.8%), psychological distress (34.43% to 38%), and stress (8.1% to 81.9%) are reported in the general population during the COVID-19 pandemic in China, Spain, Italy, Iran, the US, Turkey, Nepal, and Denmark. In conversation

with Dr.Yashasvi Kuchhal who is a Journal writing Therapist and lifestyle coach, we got a deeper knowledge of the issue. Here is a key point of the interview:

Corona Warrior: Be a Warrior, not a worrier Budding journalist interacted with Corona Warrior Mukesh Jaiman

Muskan Kumawat Jaipur: Real heroes of our country are doctors today. Every day they are working hard to provide better treatments to all their patients. Budding journalist interacted with Mukesh Jaiman who is a corona warrior and who is alive thanks to hope. If you have hope and want to live that makes you stay alive. Mukesh Jaiman was admitted in a hospital as his condition was critical. He says his only ray of hope was his family that did not lose hope and was taking caring of him. Right now, he is taking proper rest as he is still weak.

His family members were worried a lot. His son Mudit says he was worried and scared after hearing about increasing death cases. But he did not lose hope and prayed and took care of him

as much as he could. Further, Mukesh says the hospital situation was bad. There were a lot of critical cases but whenever he lost hope his family motivated him and gave him hope to stay alive.

What are the ways to cope with stress and fear experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic? Try to keep moving your body throughout the day, picking up any fitness form that you like, will release chemical called dopamine and will keep you happy not only physically but mentally too, you feel stronger and confident. Journal Writing is a very powerful tool that should be exercised on daily basis to reflect back on your day. Structure your days, make a schedule and stick to it as much as u can. Create your to-do-lists so that you look forward to your days. Limit your time on social media and news channels especially before going to bed and the unnecessary negative feed for your peace of mind.

India knows how to show resilience Rahul Nambiar Jaipur: Do you remember the India- Australia test series? I hope that everyone surely remembers that as it was as historic for us as we won the 2-1 against all odds. It was considered as the greatest victory of the times. But it all started as a disaster for India, as our team got all out on just 36 runs in the first test, its lowest score ever in test cricket. People from Cricket fraternity had said that India would be trashed by Australia in this series by 4-0. But India didn't lose hope and showed it's resilience by the series victory in the end. So at the end, it was a winning moment which came with a life lesson. India requires hope in this current scenario in terms of second wave because only the hope is that ray of light in these darker days. Hope is the face of resilience and we can seek that lesson from that series. With the help of Hope and Happiness, we can surely improve our health and our psychological status because a good positive mindset will help us to fight against this pandemic with a great zeal.

Hope, health, and happiness important in life

Khushi Chauhan Jaipur: Hope is the key that keeps us lively and helps us deal with a lot of challenges, failures in terms of health, relationships, finances and the current pandemic. With hope you can achieve things. Hope is important to improve mental well-being, reduce sadness, and anxiety. With hope, you can stay positive in the toughest situations. Happiness plays an important role in an individual successful life. Whosoever is happy in today's life is a successful person. Being happy has its own advantages and benefits. Happy people maintain better relationships, feel less anxious, are more creative, and are more generous. Happiness helps you as an energy booster in reducing stress. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is necessary especially in this pandemic, while the entire

world is battling against Covid-19, if you develop a good immunity, it will help you fight against illness. Also you will have less illness if you are healthy. You will do things more vigorously. Along with physical health mental health is an important part of our health. Importance of being mentally healthy is what makes you feel good about yourself. It improves your moods and also reduces anxiety. It increases your energy and gives you a sharper mind.

Dr. Narendra Kaushik

Hope, Health, and Happiness

Hope, Health and Happiness... they too are a vaccine. A vaccine India needs the most to overcome the corona pandemic. There is an umbilical relationship between the three words. One leads to the other and the other leads to the other. Where you have these three you have perseverance, can-do spirit, and power to bring about a change. But undoubtedly, the numerouno among the three is hope. Hope is what makes one happy, and also leads to better health. Where there is hope, there is health and happiness. American author of supernatural fiction Stephan King is not off the mark when he says, “Remember, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies”. A study by Harvard’s Human Flourishing Programme done on 13,000 people with an average age of 66 says hope not only ensures longer life but also better physical health, and better social support. The study (available at https://www.sciencedirect.

Hope to live one more day

com/science/article/pii/ S259011332030002X?via%3 Dihub), publishedd last year, found that participants with the highest hope (compared to people with the lowest hope) faced the reduced probability of cancer, chronic pain, sleep problems, and even lower risk of mortality. The study associated increased hope with higher psychological well-being, lower psychological distress, and better social being. Nelson Mandela endured 27 years of incarceration because he nurtured a hope to rebuild his country. He brought about reconciliation between blacks and whites, and transformed his country from apartheid and minority rule to a multiracial democracy during his presidency (1994-99). From being an extremely poor public speaker (he could not even read a written speech in England), Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi transformed into a world leader and achieved freedom for his country. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi not only played cricket with one eye but is still remembered as one of the greatest test captains India has ever produced. Gandhi, Mandela, and Pataudi had hope. Let’s clutch hope. There will be a tomorrow when fear of COVID will not be there and when people will be happy and healthy.

Jaipur: In this pandemic where people are suffering from so many problem and animals are also suffering. These animals just have a hope to live one more day, the “Dogman” of Jaipur, Viren Sharma converted their hope into reality.Mr. Viren Sharma (Managing director of international dog bazaar, Founder of PAWS) provides food to animals. He is also known as the “Dogman of India” and he proudly wears the title. He say in this pandemic where all the restaurants have been closed and other small shops have also been closed, which used to get one time meal of dogs, so we thought why not in this pandemic give dogs and other animals one day's food so that they can live for another day and get another

Hope and Happiness lead to Wellness

day's happiness. There is not a single day in this Lockdown where Viren Sharma does not feed these dogs. Everyday more than one thousand food packets and with more than one quintal of foods Viren Sharma along with his team feeds the street dogs and other animals in every corner of Jaipur.

He also requested to Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot to open a help center for dogs and other animals where they can get all the facilities like food, home, medical facilities etc. They are also an equal part of our society and our mission to deliver daily food to them is only mission to give them a reason to live another day.

Health is the real wealth

Suyash Khanna Jabalpur: Hope includes having goals, feeling empowered to shape your daily life in future, and identifying multiple paths towards making your goals happen. Working towards meaningful life goals is one of the most important strategies happy people utilize in their life. Hope is a very optimistic approach to anything & a strong predictor of satisfaction. Hope is a symptom of happiness. What is happiness? Is it an emotion? Is it a state of mind? Happiness is an emotional state of joy, satisfaction, contentment and fulfilment. It is one of the ‘Big Six emotions’. Hope leads to happiness as well as good health. A number of studies indicate that hopeful people tolerate pain better than their less hopeful peers. Even now, people who are not losing hope are recovering much earlier than other people who are taking mental stress. When it comes to children everyone knows how well they follow docto’s orders, a child’s level of hope is a significant predictor of those who actually follow what the doctor says. People who are optimistic in their life and stay happy have longer lives. How hopeful you are has important work and life implications. It impacts how well you grow, how you take care of your health, and how productive you are at work.

Palak Bansal Jaipur: Health is being fit physically, mentally, and emotionally. It is not merely absence of diseases.. Good health is central to handling one's stress and living a more active and happy life. As we know, this pandemic has affected one's physical, mental and emotional state a lot. We all are locked in our homes and receiving negativity, and bad thoughts. News and disappointments are making us feel helpless, and stressed. Here are some ways to make you physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially healthy: Keep learning instead of spending hours on OTT Platforms. Read something good and be knowledgeable. So that you can increase your

vocabulary and this can make your vibe up. Learn different things which will make your routine fun. Try out recipes, do crafts and painting. Learn new forms of dance. Also meditating for 30-40 minutes daily can help you reduce anxiety, lower stress and improve your mood. Connect on video calls and exercise daily. This will surely make you feel light and energetic. Exercising and connecting with your close ones can boost you up. Looking after your calories intake is one of the most important tasks for being physically healthy. Drink water, stay hydrated. Drinking 6 - 8 glasses of water can keep your skin healthy . Bad sleep leads to bad mood. Sleep for minimum eight hours. All these ways will help you live a healthy lifestyle.

I congratulate the whole editorial team and the whole department for making this newspaper six days a week because when it started on 16th February, 2017, it was only three days a week. It is a matter of pride for the whole university. It significantly publishes news for all. I wish to make this a perfect newsletter and they work more hard to make it a huge success further.

THE MESSAGE is so consistent and it is a healthy practice for students to become a good and true person in their lives. I am very happy today as it completed 300 editions of THE MESSAGE . I will be the happiest person in this world when I’ll see 1000th edition to be celebrated and for sure that the day will come very soon.

It has gone through the whole journey of THE MESSAGE, he feels so good that it is releasing the 300th edition of its. I feel so good that this initiative is completely driven by the students, I never fail to see the paper whatever the situation is, I always get the paper and always reads it. I congratulate the whole team and the department. I find 100percent authenticity in the news.

I am very excited as THE MESSAGE has completed 300th editions and I feel so gratified. I really feel so blessed and as I always find students to work on my imagination and they always do innovative things. I congratulate Brijesh Mishra, Amandeep, Shailendra, and all faculty members who work hard for the newsletter and to all the students and the whole department.

THE MESSAGE worked the same way in the pandemic as it was working before that. It publishes the relevant news. I wish and advise the students that they give more inputs in it and work harder to make THE MESSAGE, a daily newspaper like other newspapers. I did not find any mistake in it rather than I only found the growth of ideas and their passion to work for the newsletter.

300 and Not Out! Even during COVID 19, they have brought out The Message without fail. And can you believe these are the junior most students of the department. I have been associated with The Message for over two and a half years, and always gone through the edition before it is disseminated online. Happy 300th birthday to The Message. I wish it has many more to come.

Triple century needs consistency and urge to improve itself. This is what The Message team has proven it. Since 2017, five consecutive batches of BA (JMC) experimented and practiced Journalism through it. It does not only give them learning, but a sense of achievement too. Congratulations to all for triple century!

When I associated with THE MESSAGE, It was a bi-weekly newspaper. I along with other faculty members, made it daily in 2017. We worked hard for its attractive layout, design and news planning, conducted regular meetings for news planning and proper editing process. THE MESSAGE provides a great opportunity for the student to learn journalism while doing it.

I hope you will be able to provide 'The Message' with a more critical approach and newsworthy events. I sincerely appreciate students’ excellent coverage especially from the last few months. The students have ideated, reported, edited, designed pages, drew cartoons, and shot pictures relentlessly for five years. I feel that students’ journalistic work is in the best tradition. I wish students all the best.

I remember (and miss) the times I sat down with my team and we discussed on what could be done or added now to make this edition better than our previous works? Not only did The Message provide me with skills of coordination required to work with my peers, it broadened my mind alot.

When I was part of The Message at that time it was a simple tabloid. It mainly circulated campus news but now I see that there is ground reporting done by students. The newspaper is now published with the pictures of student reporters. Students also take Interviews and masthead also looks decent.

Working in 'The message' was like walking on a path which would lead me to my dream. With the guidance of faculty members, things were a lot easier and I am forever grateful to have had this opportunity to learn and grow. And I think it is more student-driven now and it is a good thing. This is really appreciable.
