colors. Holi, known as the ‘Festival of Colors’ is celebrated on the Full Moon day falling in the month of Phalguna (Feb-Mar). Various colors and Water are thrown on each other, amidst loud music, drums etc to celebrate Holi. Even the temples of Ancient India have sculptures of Holi on walls. One of this is a temple from the 16th century in Hampi, the capital of Vijayanagar. The temple has many scenes from Holi sculpted on its walls showing Princes and Princesses along with their maids holding Pichkaris to squirt water on royals. Many Medieval Paintings such as a 16th century Ahmednagar Painting, Mewar Painting (circa 1755), Bundi miniature all depicts Holi celebrations in one way or the other.

It is not clear that the deployment comes, as President Donald Trump considers a New Plan to defeat IS, that was submitted by the Pentagon late last month. The On-ground Commanders were frustrated by what they considered micromanagement by the Obama administration. val. Holi is one of the oldest Hindu festivals and it had probably started several centuries before the birth of Christ. Based of this is, Holi is mentioned in some ancient religious books like, Jaimini’s Purvamimamsa-Sutras and Kathaka-Grhya-Sutra. Like many other festivals in India, Holi also signifies a victory of Good over Evil. As per ancient mythology, there is a legend of King Hiranyakashipu with who Holi is associated. In Many States o India, it is celebrated for three consecutive days. The first day is a Full Moon day, Holi Purnim., Colored powder and Water are arranged in Small brass pots in a Thali. Eunuchs-Their Faces, Their Fortune Do We accept them as a part of Our Society?

By Lakshika Mathur

Jaipur. “ No matter how open

minded is our Society is but somewhere, somehow we are still so fearful” Eunuchs or Hijra or The Third Gender, They are only different by Sex and Gender, but they are human. In our Society, their position is blur. Sex and Gender can change an individual’s life! Do you think, we know them? Are they part of our Society? Does our Society accept them? On an estimation, 5 to 6 million Eunuchs live in India. Among

Hindus, they are treated as blessers, dancing and celebrating in births and marriages. They used to attend births and marriages and give badhai (blessings) but, aspects of their social structure are from Islam and the majority of their leaders and gurus are Muslims. But do you think, they fill their stomach by badhai only? Obviously not, and

so they work by begging in city streets, and earning by sex jobs, and dancing in bars and Night

clubs. The Mughal Period especially brought Eunuchs under some importance. During the rule of Shah Jahan and Akbar, Hijras worked as guards to the queens. Eunuchs could become leaders of Military or Civil Departments Officials. If We talk about their acceptance, then the family where Eunuch is born doesn’t

accept that child. Then, how can we expect from the Society to accept them? They are treated as an unwanted part of this society. India is the only Country, where the tradition of Eunuchs is widespread today. The Eunuchs are an important, and integral part of Indian Society. No Celebration is considered complete without their participation and blessing. Yet, they remain a neglected part of our Population. So, Should we accept them or stay with the same Mentality?

Jaipur. This is a Message, I re-

ceived today in the morning from an Old friend of mine. I didn’t know, how to react to this message. I didn’t know, even if it is true or not. So I replied, ‘Please verify the messages you send. He replied again, sent me a link. ‘What’s wrong in it, even if it’s not true’. I said, ‘There were children killed in that attack like me and you’. He retorted, ‘No, there’s nothing wrong in it. Why does he not come in the aid, when there’s a

problem in India?’ Then, I googled the detail about donations given by Shahrukh Khan for the Peshawar attack victims. I found nothing authentic about it, but ound some News and articles, Some people and Politicians slamming Shahrukh Khan for the same. Then, I found the information about the aid, he provided in India before Peshawar attack, but what I didn’t find, was exact monetary figure donated by Shahrukh. So, I sent him few links, those described the aids and donations Shahrukh Khan given in India. ‘Sorry’ was his reply, when I told him, ‘Spread this as a ‘fire’ as well, Just like your earlier message describing ‘half truth’. The Peshawar School Massacre occurred on 16th December, 2014. It took 141 innocent lives.

Most of them were children and left 114 people injured. Why there’s hate speech against someone, who has helped giving aid to those affected in a massacre, that was so appallingly inhuman? Shouldn’t we also get involved in the aid of the people who got affected? And what are we actually doing is spreading more hatred. When, there’s more than enough of hatred, we need Love and Peace. The above Message must have spread among thousands of people, as it is still floating around after more than 2 years of the said incident. My friend, who had sent me this, he definitely sent it to many contacts. These ‘Half truths’ messages are still floating around. Don’t just say ‘Sorry’. Check the facts. Don’t just forward anything. It is more dangerous than fire.

Jaipur. ‘Logan’ is a treat for Wol-

verine fans. It is the 10th film in the X-Men Universe and the third independent film for ‘Wolverine’. The violence in the film justifies its ‘R’ rating (‘A’ in India), but it’s the emotional connection between the three characters (Logan, Xavier and Laura) that sets it apart from the two previous ‘Wolverine’ films. One of the film’s strongest points and highlight from the film is Jackman’s performance as ‘Logan’.

It is, along with Patrick Stewart his last film in the X-Men series as Logan (or Wolverine) and as Charles Xavier, for Patrick Stewart. The film is set in 2029, where mutants are on a verge of extinction, Charles Xavier’s(Patrick Stewart) mutant school is closed and he is living a life of normalcy with Logan (Hugh Jackman). Logan is trying to forget his previous life and Xavier has become an alcohol addict, so that he could control his mind to direct his telepathic mutant powers. Meanwhile, Laura Kinney (Dafne Keen), an 11 year old girl who has identical mutant powers like Logan is being chased by a group of killers. When Logan and Xavier come to know about this, they half heartedly come to the rescue of Laura from the group, whose leader is played by Donald Pierce. This follows a Chase Scene, which is nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. ‘Logan’ is probably the best adaptation of the character ‘Wolverine’ in its individual film till date.

Poem

I’ve been to places, I can’t replace I’ve seen magic, I can’t chase. I’ve walked in the streets, Of love and pain I’ve talked to my heart, And, it has its stain. As, if magic were love again, As, if places were pain, As, if pain is I can’t replace, And, love is what I can’t chase.
