LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Racetrack Road Corridor is one of the fastest growing areas in Washington County. What is more appropriate than to introduce you to the Canonsburg Houston Southpointe Rotary Club. Although this organization has been around for a while, new times, trends and business developments have resulted in the re-invention of the club. Meetings are every Wednesday at 5:30PM in Southpointe. Evenings allow businessmen to stop in after work, avoid traffic, and unwind with a glass of wine and refreshment while helping serve the community. It’s all about the four way Rotary test. 1. Is it the truth? 2. Is it fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned? I really have a passion for banking, it is something that I really enjoy doing every day. I enjoy being a connector for both clients and business professionals. The best part about it all is the network of professionals that you build over the years, it is real exciting to surround yourself with professionals in today’s business world. Overall I love being a banker because of the great opportunity to meet new people, build long-term relationships with different people
with diverse backgrounds and most importantly, the personal reward that you feel when you help some reach their financial goals. When you have the ability to help people restructure their finances and debt in order to put them in a less stressful financial situation, it becomes very rewarding.

Why did you decide to go into banking?
I like a challenge and banking seemed to challenge me on so many levels. Not only does banking challenge someone to build relationships or close deals, but it challenges your character and values. Good bankers show up to the branch every day to open and close the doors, but great bankers push themselves to achieve the highest levels of client satisfaction possible. In order to do that, you have to be able to develop real relationships, but more importantly you must have integrity, trust, teamwork, compassion and make sound business decisions that are in the best interest of the clients every day. I really appreciate the opportunity to help people out on a daily basis, what better way when you are involved in assisting people with their financial situations. In addition to some great new products that we launched this year, we opened a new branch in Burgettestown this past March and we are excited about the opening of another new branch in Bridgeville later this year. CHS Rotary Welcomes New President DeDe MacTaggart The Canonsburg-Houston-Southpointe Chapter of Rotary International has a familiar face as its new President: Southpointe Chamber Board Member DeDe MacTaggart! DeDe, a Washington County resident, is employed by AT&T. She is an active member of the Washington Jazz Society, an Elder at EUP Church, and a member of the CEO Association. Ms. MacTaggart strongly encourages Chamber members and friends to join the organization that she now leads, citing the impressive group of community leaders that Rotary brings together, including outgoing president Nicholas Beresh, the honorable Judge Richard DiSalle, Dr. Stephanie Urchick of the Southpointe CEO Association, Southpointe Chamber founder Don Hodor - and many other well-known local leaders like Walter Olshanski, W. Patrick Boyer, and J. C. Smith.
