Krapp’s Last Tape By Samuel Beckett Wed 25 June – Sat 19 July A late evening in the future. Worn out, half-drunk and lonely, Krapp sits down to celebrate his 69th birthday. His only companion is an unconventional one: the voice of his 39 year-old self. Sifting through the recorded memories of his life, Krapp re-visits the ghosts of his past. Reflecting on what was, what might have been and what he has now become, he prepares to make his final recording. A study in squalor, isolation and regret, Beckett’s masterpiece is performed by award-winning actor and associate director of Sheffield Theatres, Richard Wilson. Polly Findlay (A Taste of Honey) directs.
