Around the World - One Man’s Journey with Doug Jones Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Take a walk on the wild side with skilled adventure filmmaker Rick Ray. Explore the safari destinations of Kenya and Tanzania, topping it all off with a trek to visit the mountain gorillas of Rwanda. Included will be stops at Nairobi, Masai Mara, Ambocelli, Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and the Serengeti Plains, to name just a few.

One of the most popular filmmakers working today, Doug Jones has created a life-time retrospective drawn from over one half million feet of motion picture film taken over the last 40 years. Shot on six continents and in 60 countries, highlights of the film include the Taj Mahal, the Kamakura Buddha, the Treasures of Tutankhamen, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the Berlin Wall and the glaciers of Alaska. Western New York Chamber Orchestra Originally formed more than 25 years ago as the Fredonia Chamber Players under the artistic direction of Grant Cooper, the Western New York Chamber Orchestra was renamed during the tenure of Joel Revzen. Currently led by Artistic Director and Conductor Glen Cortese, the orchestra is comprised of professional musicians from an area ranging from Buffalo to Erie, Pa. The orchestra has hosted world-renowned artists including Peter Schickele, Sharon Robinson, Lauren Flanigan and Sharon Isbin.

The Western New York Chamber Orchestra joins forces with the Fredonia College Choir and Fredonia School of Music Faculty soloists to present Schubert’s transcendent Mass in C Major. This is the continuation of a long and respected tradition between the Western New York Chamber Orchestra and the SUNY Fredonia School of Music.

World renowned Chinese soprano Ying Huang graces the stage as a guest of the Western New York Chamber Orchestra performing works by W.A. Mozart and his operatic contemporaries. Ms. Huang has received worldwide acclaim for her performances on Live From the Met, as well as her portrayal of Cio-Cio San in Frederic Mitterand’s 1995 film of Madame Butterfly.

The Hillman Opera The Merry Wives of Windsor (Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor) Nov. 10, 11 and 12 at 8 p.m.; Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. Marvel Theatre Based on Shakespeare’s work of the same name, this pillar of the Germanic repertoire from Carl Otto Nicolai is filled with charm, humor and glorious music. This fully-staged Hillman Opera production is presented by the School of Music in association with the Department of Theatre and Dance. It will be presented in German with English supertitles.

Ticket exchange policy As a Mix & Match season ticket holder, you are entitled to FREE ticket exchanges. If your plans change, you may choose to attend any event on the Mix & Match event list that better suits your schedule. If an alternate event cannot immediately be chosen, the value of the tickets will be credited to your account for future use (within the year). Likewise, if you exchange for higher-priced tickets, the difference in price will be due upon exchange. Please note: ■ Exchanges must be made at least 24 hours before the performance date. ■ Once a performance has passed, tickets are no longer eligible for exchange. ■ Once a performance is sold out, tickets are no longer eligible for exchange. ■ If you exchange for lower-priced tickets, the difference in price will be credited to your patron account and may be used toward future purchases at the ticket office. ■ Tickets must be returned to the ticket office either by mail or in person before the exchange can be processed.
