NEW RECRUITS AT JCAI.DK Earlier this week it was announced that two new contributors would begin hosting paints at Johan Clausen’s site JCAI. The two new faces are familiar ones but both flightplanners turned painters – Joshua Dean and Dennis Lyng Desezar. Hopefully the site will slowly be populated with some of their paints, Joshua is currently working on SpiceJet and Air Calin for the FAIB models, whilst Dennis is working on Bluebird Cargo and an SAS ATR.

Here is the official announcement; “I’m excited and delighted to tell you that there are two new repainters on the site. Joshua Dean, known for many great flightplans for AIG, have accepted my invitation to join me on this site as a repainter. Joshua has, together with Robert Williams, been working on several repaints, including a complete set of the different SpiceJet paints for the FAIB B737-800 and -900. The first paints aren’t publicly available yet, but when time’s ready, they’ll be released.

I’m also happy to announce that Dennis Desezar, also a flightplanner at AIG, have accepted to join the site here as repainters. His first works will be a repaint of a SAS ATR 72-200 and some Bluebird Cargo repaints.” I hope you’ll give both a warm welcome to this site!”

Missing models? Ben Clark (realbigtree) is currently in the process of compiling a comprehensive list of current AI models. The list will give links to both the model and its paintkit (if available). Ben already has similar list for ICAO/IATA codes of aircraft. If interested in the lists you can find them here;

Modelling Section

Reports by Robert Williams

UTT GO FSX NATIVE Over the last few weeks United Traffic Team, with the support and knowledge of Erez Werber (FAIB), has slowly released their previous models in FSX native format. Models released in FSX native format are; Boeing 747-8, Boeing 787-8, McDonnell Douglas MD-11 & Phenom 100. The rest of the models and those which are currently being beta-tested and painted will also in both an FS9 native format and FSX native format.

This may be a huge step in persuading users to switch to FSX, as we now have a handful of models all released in an FSX native format.

WARNING: FSX users must update their textures and models. The FSX textures must have a special Alpha Channel. It seems most of UTT’s own paints have been updated for these models and Juergen Baumbusch has updated his 747-8 textures for use in FSX.
