Getting to Know Thailand Learning is our chief priority during these first years in Thailand. Absorbing the culture and language of an entire nation involves much more than learning facts about history, memorizing vocabulary words or completing a language course. It means actively engaging in the activities people around you are involved in. For us, that means travel. Our friends don’t stay in one place long so we go with them to their homes in the mountains, their church activities at waterfalls and hot springs and to the fields where they plant crops. We are excited for the opportunity to travel all over the country but we can only afford it because we have friends who bring us along.
