This great digital book is part of a much bigger project that the Expression department has decided to undertake on our dearest City of Buenos Aires. In this book you will find a wonderful compilation of articles written by senior 4 students about the buildings where they live. In these articles you will find the building’s detailed descriptions, their outstanding histories and many interesting anecdotes. The articles have been illustrated with maps and enriching pictures. In order to carry out this project, students have worked with a variety of resources, such as digital cameras, celular phones and different websites and applications. Among the websites used, we can mention Google Drive, Google Maps, Blogspot and Issuu. In the production of this book all senior 4 students have worked collaboratively online, following strict instructions. Students have prepared their work under a pen name so the challenge for you as a reader is to recognise some of the writers by his or her style. In order to help you most writers have included a brief biography, although you should be aware of the fact that some information provided may not be true to reality. Besides, we do apologise for any information which may not be accurate, and we do hope you enjoy reading this compilation as much as we have enjoyed writing, editing and publishing it. Any comment which may help us improve on our work will be most welcomed.

My name is Curco Bein and I was born in 1997, in Buenos Aires. I like playing video games, tennis, and other sports. Sometimes I am in the habit of reading detective stories. 1.
An Historical House
My house is in San Cristobal, the neighbourhood. It was built in 1940 by builders. It is a big house, maybe a poor manssion. But in 1968 it was remodelled by my grandfather. Only the exterior walls and interior stairs remained. The house is located, exactly, in Carlos Calvo 1910. It is a piece of the history of the neighbourhood because it’s the first house which was built in San Cristobal. Now, in the house lives my family. My parents, one of my two brothers and my grandmother. But my sister lives in a house which was built ten years ago in the terrace. One day, Cecilia, my sister, was locked because the door was broken but an hour later the blacksmith arrived and fixed the door and she could exit. It’s a manssion, but we haven’t got a guardian. However, we have a dog.

sons of Spanish and Italian people. It was built in 1970 by Francisco Nicastro,the most important architect in Argentina at that time. In 1980 it was remodelled by the neighbours that used to live there ,that´s why the European culture is on the walls. The best day for visiting the building is on Sundays,because it smells like pasta. There is a guardian called Hilario,but we call him ¨Chiqi¨. He takes care of the building,and he enjoys telling anecdotes to the visitors. Once,a lorry full of Guaymallen´s biscuits crashed and they fell on the streets. He picked and saved them into the building. Then he gave all of them to the poor children of the neighborhood. Another funny story,is that there was a problem with the building´s pipes, but the plumbers didn't want to go and fix them because it was Sunday. So a smart neighbour had an idea,he threw Manaos Coke through the pipes, and it unclogged them!!!
*** My name is Anne. I’m 15 years old. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1998. I love to dance Hip-Hop and to write on my blog.

3. A Great Place to Visit The building is in, neighbourhood. It was built in 1953 by Abeucci Soroa Dotti. I live there in a flat, the janitor’s flat. My father is the janitor of the building and he has worked there since 1987 when he was 18 years old. Outside, the wall has an sculpture of Virgin Mary. The building has four apartments and eight floors. There are a lot of different kinds of people. They are my neighbours too. Three years ago, a flat got on fire, and my father, the janitor, put down the flames. A claustrophobic man got stuck in the lift. He was scared, but finally everything was OK. This place is near the Congress another historical and important building.
*** My name is Tiffany Maddox. I’m 16 years old. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. My hobbie is reading books and listening to music. 4. A Wonderful Place My flat is in San Cristobal. It’s near the Congress. The building was built by a company in 1950. The company sold all the flats to different people. A neighbour told me that the building was remodelled just one time and was painted in 2003.

The building has six floors. Each one has four appartments. In the flats families, couples and single people live. There isn’t a guardian, there’s a janitor. His name is Miguel and he has worked here since 2005. Two years ago there was an accident. A car crashed with a tree in front of the building. That was so chaotic because we had to call the police and one person was sent to the hospital. And a month ago a person entered the hall and he tried to burgle a house. We stopped him in time. And we had to change the key. *** My name is Ciro Marley, born in 1998 in Buenos Aires. I’m a former rugby player and now I do not do any sports. When I'm bored I like to draw. 5. Untitled Historically my house was used as a restaurant. Its name was "La Patita", it was recognized as the best pasta restaurant for over 150 years. It was built by Jorge Monserrat in 1860. It is located in San Juan and Saavedra street. In 2000 it was closed to turn it into a house. The architect was my father. He decided to paint it in light blue and make three new rooms. In the house there are many people: my father, my mother, my sister, my grandmother, my grandfather and I. . In my house, there is a guardian whose name´s Mario. He has been working there for seven years. Once he wetted all my clothes when I was going to a party with the hose. One day a lot of people started a petition to make "La Pastita" open again.

My name is Natalia Mieres, I was born in Misiones-Argentina. I am 16 years old. I have brown hair and I am 1,73m tall and I live in San Cristobal. 6. Description of My House My house is in AV. Chiclana between Pavón and Deán Funes Street. It's a green house with old paintings. It was built with double-floors and it has four apartments. Two apartments are on the ground floor and two apartments, on the first floor. My home is number two and has five rooms: the bathroom, the kitchen, the patio, the dining room and the two bedrooms. My room is médium-sized and red. My mom and my dad have a big bedroom and its colour is salmon and the two rooms are between floors. Also my mom and my dad have a bedroom with a window looking to the street. My dog sleeps in the patio. The house was built fifty years ago and was bought by my grandfather. My home does not have a guardian and it hasn't been remodelled yet.
*** I am Karou Wathers. I am a 16-year-old adolescent. I play the violin because I really love its sound. I am always listening to music, it’s my passion. In my free time I visit different places with my friends or with my family. 7. Inclan’s Tower I live in a complex that has seven towers, localized in Inclan street, each with 18 floors. It has a large central yard where people can go down to talk and walk around. The fronts of the towers have been changed with different colors, now each tower has an unique color. I live on the seventeenth floors, my appartment is great, comfortable. It has three bedrooms and a large living room. Those who live with me are my dad, my mom, my young sister, a little black dog, a turtle and a canary. Last year we remodelled our appartment floor with a cuter one that was made of wood and we painted the walls.

Two years ago my neighbour, an 84-year-old woman, died of a heart attack, because she had had a heart condition and she was so sick. The appartment is empty now. Since the day of her death I have heard scary sounds of walking steps in her appartment. ***
I’m Nora Grey. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am 17 years old. I like writing. 8. My Little Place I live in Balvanera. In a house with seven one-bedroom appartments . It's very small, very old and terribly ruined. The house is one hundred years old. The appartments on the ground floor are all connected by a door, but we prefer not to use that door to avoid disturbing the neighbors. The street entrance has a long corridor, but a little tight. It is painted white and has a strip of gold. The house has two patios and a terrace. Everything is very quiet. But sometimes the neighbors are somewhat annoying. In my appartament two people live. My grandmother and me. We are quiet. Three walls of my appartment are light blue, the other wall is blue and the ceiling is white . We do not have a guardian. But we have a person who is always aware of everything in the house . The entire house was remodelled. Before the floor of my apartment was made of wood. One day, the floor broke and now we have a ceramic floor.

My name is Mario Götze. I’m 16 years old and I’m from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I live in Avellaneda with my parents and I play football and tennis. 9. Dangerous Flat My house is in Avellaneda in Italia street. It is a flat and it has six floors. It was built in 1993 but my family moved there in 1994. It’s a beautiful place to live. It has a bricked wall in front and yellow paint on the right and left. It’s located in Avellaneda’s center. Often my mum and I go shopping because there are a lot of different kinds of shops around. In my flat lives my mum, my dad and I. My favourite neighbour is Mr. Crespo. He has been a widower since 2012. He is an old man and I met him in 1999. We have a friendly guardian. His name is Huguito and he works in the morning. He doesn’t live in our flat. On one occasion my father got locked in his bedroom and he had to jump through the window. He got lucky because he didn’t get hurt

My name is Victoria Townsend, I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I’m 16 years old. I like writing books and watching movies. 10. This is My Place My house is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is a big house with so many rooms and a big terrace. It was built in 1979. It was remodelled three times. The first was only to divide it into three different houses. The second was to make one of those three houses bigger and more beautiful. The last time was in 2004 and it was to put on it more decoration and make it bigger than before. This was because my sister was born that year. When you go to my house the first thing that you gonna see is very big stairs, then there is another door and when you enter you gonna see white walls and three windows, little things like a TV, my computer, etc. My room is next to the living room. I live with my mother and my two sisters. We have a dog and a very beautiful cat.

My name is Yeha Papai, I´m a 16-year-old teenager. I was born in August, 1997. I live in Buenos Aires. I like going out with my Friends, playing video games, eating junk food and sleeping all day 11. A Completely Normal Building My home is a seven-story building located at 307 in Sarandí street. The building was constructed in 1924 and represents the typical aechitecture of that period. It was made in 1924 by an unknown architect. The building has one appartment per floor and every appartament has 6 rooms. At present, the building is home to about 6 families of at least 3 people each one. There is not a guardian or janitor and the people who live there are responsible for the cleaning of the building. The building was never remodelled. A long time ago the door of the building got locked and not even five people could unlock it, but it happened out of the blue that a little and distracted boy took ahead the door unlocking it behind him. In a few years the building will be 100 years old

My name is Lucas Lennon. I’m 19 years old. I was born on November 2, 1995 in Argentina. I like playing football and reading books. My parents are Gerardo Lennon and Gloria Stick. My brothers are Sebastian and Sol Lennon.
12. The Beautiful Home The apartment is in Pichincha 1030, in the neighbourhood of San Cristóbal. The apartment was built in 1964 by Constantino. He was an engineer who died in 1991. The apartment is big. In the place live my family and neighbours. The apartment has nine rooms. My father bought the room in $16000. The first anecdote was in the year 2004. One day my father painted the apartment and my brother, Sebastian, made drawings on the walls. My father was angry. My mother brought a dog because she loves animals. The second anecdote was in the year 2012. The dog ran from door to door and the neighbours got angry because of the noise. It was one o’clock am.

My name is Noah. I'm 16 years old. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I live in San Cristobal and I like playing tennis every day.

13. MY PLACE Historically, the building was used by tourists but now by only old people, and it was built approximately 80 years ago. And it is in La Rioja Street. 3 years ago the flat was painted in white but the people who painted it was painting it for a long time but they did a good job and the neighbours were comfortable. Well the first one who lived there was my father and then he met my mother and had a son (me). Eight years later they had another son, my brother Lautaro. And six years later they had a daughter, Valentina, my sister. One day when my mother was in the backyard she saw a frog and shouted. In 2006, my mother left the keys on the door for four hours but nobody entered the house.
*** My name is Hernan. I was born on 30th August, 1997. I am sixteen years old. I did primary at Santa cruz school but this year I moved to San cristobal. I am a fan of Independiente and I play football at Comunicaciones. 14. Untitled My home is in Boedo. It is a big house with two floors. On the first floor we have the kitchen, a bathroom, two living rooms and a green garden. On the second floor we have three bedrooms

(one for my parents, one for my sisters and one for me) and two bathrooms. We started building the house in 2006, and finally we moved here in 2007. When we started to live here, the house wasn't ready at all so we had to do some remodeling like a new painting and a new roof. The architect was my father’s cousin, and he did a great job. Here I live with my parents, Pablo and Gabriela, and my two sisters, Bianca and Chiara. We don't have a guardian because the home is not like a flat where you can meet guardians or security. The day that we moved here, in 2007, it was snowing! I think this is a very curious anecdote.
*** My name is Emilia, and I’ll have a brother, I say 'will' because he hasn’t been born yet. I was born on April 28th in 1998. I’m sixteen years old. I really really love animals, all of them, I think that they’re the most beautiful beings in the world. I have one pet, a dog, and I am in love with her, I think, because she’s perfect!♥. I love reading too, drawing, taking photos, ballet dance, pink and I love love itself and all these cute things that exist. 15. Untitled I live in Boedo, in a flat, we moved here in 2009. We have a guardian but he usually doesn’t do his work, he just stays there and says ‘hi!’ when you arrive, but he goes home when you’re not looking, obviously. I love my flat because my bff live in there too, then I always see her.The only bad thing is that there are lots of children so there isn’t so much silence. That bothers me a bit, I wish they would sleep more, like me.

My name is Agostina Stefanasi. I'm sixteen years old and I was born in Buenos Aires Argentina. I live in San Cristobal. I like music and going out with my friends. 16. Untitled I live in a ground floor flat located in San Cristobal. We moved there in 2000. I live with my mum, my brother my dad and my dog, Delfina . My house has three bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a living room and a patio where Delfina lives. my bedroom is where I spend my free time. I live with three families more. One couple with three children and two women . In my house we haven't got a guardian and it was built in 1950. My mom doesn't like cleaning the house . because of that we call a woman for that. My house is a very nice place with beautiful windows at the entrance. I like inviting friends. *** My name is Mora Calorie, I was born in Argentina, Buenos Aires in 1997. I’m 17 years old and I have been writing since I was 12. 17. Untitled Hello, nice to meet you. I’m starting this tour telling you something about this beautiful flat. If you look at the entrance door you can know the location of this build but it is my responsability to tell you where the location of it is. This flat is located two streets from Boedo, to be more especific, it’s located in San Juan 3433 between Virrey Liniers and Masa street. The flat has 10 floors and 30 appartments. The building is really long and narrow but the appartments are really big. For the moment we don’t know who and when the flat was built. This flat has different kinds of people like single people, couples, families, gay couples and old people. The janitor lives with his family in an appartment located in the terrace. This flat doesn’t have a guardian because it has a janitor. This flat has one anecdote. In the year 2011, this flat had a gas cut for 4 long months.

My name is Roger Pattinson and I was born in 1998. I have got 2 brothers, whose names are Franco and Leandro. I live with my brothers and parents in San Cristobal. When I was at primary school, I went to Huerto school. Now I am at secondary school and I am studying at San Cristobal school. 18. The Beautiful Place Where I Live I live in a beautiful house near the centre of Buenos Aires with my parents (Monica and Gabriel) and my two brothers ,Franco and Leandro. We have got a dog. Its name is Mateo and it lives with us too. My house is very comfortable and modern and it was built in 2000 by Agustin Fernandez, a famous architect that built some buildings in the area. On the ground floor there is a small hall in the middle of the house. Around the hall, there is a big living room and next to it, you can find the kitchen and opposite the cellar there is a study room. In my opinion, the study room is the most important place in the house because it has a very big table with an important lamp and it ´s my favourite place to read and study. It ´s got a black sofa in the middle of the room and in the corner there are lots of bookshelves too. On the first floor, there are four bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and on the roof there is a big terrace, the place where my family and I have lots of barbecues. I would love to have a green place in my house but unfortunatelly, my house doesn ´t have a garden. Last year a part of my house was remodelled. We changed some furniture and the wall colours. My mother Monica told me that when I was just a kid, I used to draw on the walls and floors. But she didn´t get angry with me because I was only 4 years old.I have another anecdote that happened to me while I was studying at primary school. I needed to buy some bookshelves because I had lots of school books and I didn ´t know where to put them so I told that to my mother and she said she had won a pair of bookshelves at the supermarket. Lucky us.

My name is Sonia Romagnoli. I'm 16 years old. I live in Buenos Aires. I am a fan of Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro. I love dogs, reggae and sports. I play handball and I'm a hip hop dancer.
19. The Place of my Adolescence I live in San Cristóbal. I lived in Palermo, but I moved when I was 15 years old because that my parents were divorced. My mom lived in San Cristobal, but before, I lived with my dad. The house has two rooms. In the bedroom my mom sleeps and I, in the living-room because I watch TV before going to sleep. In April 2014, we remodeled my apartment and it is very cute. We put tables and we painted the flat in white and the lights changed. I love staying alone in my house. it´s very relaxing, but sometimes I miss my brothers.
*** My name is Marie Peña. I was born in Argentina in 1997. I am 16 years old and I live in San Cristóbal with my dad Eduardo and my brother Ignacio. At primary school I was going to Gervacio Posadas.
20. Home, Sweet Home! My house isn’t very big but it’s comfortable. It has 3 rooms. My favourite place in the house, obviously, is my room. I have the best bed in the world. I don’t have tv or computer, but I love staying in. All the room is decorated in red, black and white. I have a dog whose name is Elvis. My father found the dog in the streets near his job. He doesn’t do number one or number two in the house. My brother doesn’t come to school with me. He goes to Manuel Belgrano. In my house my dad says “While we are having dinner, cells off”, he hates our using it. Nor are we allowed to eat in the room because he likes to dine with family. At weekends I stay with my mom,Paula, and her boyfriend, Nicolás. It’s near my house. He has 1 room and I sleep in the living-room. I always go dancing with my friends and sleepovers.

My brother never comes with me to my Mom’s house because they are at odds, but the family is the family and I adore living with them.
*** My name is Julia Gomez. I was born in Caballito, Buenos Aires on February 21, 1997 and I am 17 years old. I love music, my friends, my family and my pets. BOC is my passion, but I do not show it because I see it is not necessary. My school was San cristobal Institute and it still is because I have never changed schools. 21. History of my House My house was built by workers twenty years ago. The house in which we live isn't our own, my parents pay the rent every month. We have lived there for thirteen years with my mother Alicia, my father Ramon, my sister Veronica and I. The house is located in west Lanus. Once at home we were without power for a week and we were the only ones in the neighbourhood that had no light. Then we realized that our neighbours were taking our light. But all of this is over and we are well now with our neighbors and with our light. In that house cute and ugly moments have been spent with my family but now we are making it up and we are united. I love my family and my house is what gives me peace and quietness. In my house I am who I am and it is the only place where I feel happy. I have a dog and a cat, whose names are Toti and Piky and I love pets.

My name is Estephany Gitson. I was born in Balvanera, Buenos Aires on January 2, 1997 and I am 17 years old. I have got one brother and one sister, whose names are Maximiliano and Melisa. I love aerobics, my family and my boyfriend.
22. History of my House I live in a flat in Balvanera. The flat is beige and the entrance is made of glass. My appartament has three rooms and one bathroom. My appartament was built many years ago. My appartament hasn´t been remodelled yet. I live with my mother, my father, my sister, my brother and my dog. My home is very big, and it has a patio with flowers and trees. When I was a child I was playing in the living room with my brother. At that moment unfortunately it started to hail very strongly. My brother and me got scared and we ran to our bedroom and we hid under the blankets. After that we called our mother. My mom couldn´t come because of the strong rain. So we waited for her for some more time.

My name is Pilar González, I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. When I was seven years old, saw a movie with my mother and my father. I like a music and I love very much the animals. 23. Untitled I live in an old house. This house was built in the 50s. We don't know exactly who built it, but we think it might have been European immigrants. It is located in the San Cristobal neighbourhood and the house is very old, it is a house with big rooms, and high ceilings. We know that the house was remodelled three times, the floors, the kitchen and the bathroom. The ones living this old house are, my father, my mother, my little brother, mom’s cat and me very beautiful dog Peter. Three year ago while remodelling, all of us, my father, my mother and the others, hated to sleep in the some room for five or six nights. My dog, Peter is the guardian of the house and mom’s cat, catches pigeons.

*** 24. MY FLAT My name is Marco Reus. I’m 17 years old and I’m from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I live in San Cristóbal with my parents, my brother, who is 19 years old and my sisters, 21 and 23. I am a fan of Independiente and I like playing football and ping pong at school. Historically, my flat was built approximately 80 years ago. This is in Buenos Aires in the neighbourhood of San Cristóbal. Last year, the flat was remodelled. It was painted in white. My parents live in the place with my brother who is 19 years old and my two sisters who are 21 and 23 years old. My father’s name is Claudio, my mother’s Silvia, my brother Marcelo and my sisters Agostina and Florencia. Sometimes my friends come and we see football matches. Then we go to McDonald’s. 8 years ago approximately I was playing football with my brother in the backyard when we broke a window while we were playing football and we went out running.
