The remaining 1447 listings (or 46.4%) are under contract*.
This “ease-up” is about to take a turn, however. As our government removes itself from the mortgage-backed securities business, two things are happening; 1) interest rates that have been held artificially low for years are beginning to rise, and 2) the standard requirements for a Buyer’s debt-to-income ratio will become more restrictive starting January 1st, as lenders take measures to make their loans more attractive for sale on the secondary market.
