Monthly Report for November Mentoring Phase In Novermber we continued providing the mentors with Mentor training and this month we exposed the mentors to the skills and information about how to work with mentees who have suicidal ideation. The meeting was conducted by a Birthright Armenia Volutneer, San Francisco Hot line counselor Garine Kevranian.

In November we also had a Mentoring group meeting introducing the mentees the imroitance of mutual help. The meeting allowed the particpants to to reveal how much they like and are ready to help others. Thie meeting allowed both the mentors and the mentees to feel close to each other through working on a task together.

Skill Building Phase In November 2 group meetings were realized for Skill-Builing phase mentees. During those meetings Public speaking and How to work with Powerpoint presentations were presented. During power-point presentation meeting, the mentees not only learnt how to make a presentation but they also created one on a topic of thier choice. Later, duirng the Public speaking meeting the mentees learnt the skills of presenting a topic in front of a group. With the help of certain exercises, they revealed how much they are ready to give a presentation in front of a group.


The Key to My Success In November our guest-speaker was the actor of Gyumri V. Ajemyan, the Honored Artist of Republic of Armenia: Hovhannes Hovhannisyan. The mentees of Higher Education Phase got a number of good and useful pieces of advice from their beloved artist. They also learnt how to keep following their dreams while facing challenges and difficulties.

Overall Group meeting In the month of November 2 overall group meetings have been conducted for the mentors of the Phase 1 and Phase 2. Those meetings were about Healthy living and Personal Hygiene. Both of the topics were presented by a Nor Luyce volunteer, Medical University student Anna Shaboyan. Those meetings allowed the mentees to gain knew knowledge and also share their skills with others. With the help of Anna Shaboyan, mentees got excited about taking care of themselves and truly understand the meaning of a healthy body.

responsible for the Alumni group launched a new project for their group. The project was

titled as “Motivation as a way to feel empowered�. The project was funded by Women Resource Center. During the project the Alums presented life stories of famous women who empower them. These stories and

to


understand that victory doesn’t come on its own and that we need to fight for it. If you believe in yourself and keep going, you will gain success. Total 30 mentees took part in the project and received certificates.

Nor Luyce in the USA Also, in November the Executive Director of Nor Luyce Mentoring Center for Youth NGO: Shoghik Mikayelyan, visited invited to be a keynote speaker at Lehigh University. Bethlehem, USA regarding the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) and also to present Nor Luyce at different entities. As a result, the following facilities have been visited: 1. Lehigh University (SDGs and Gender Empowerment: Armenian perspective) 2. Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church 3. St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church

Financial Support During November Nor Luyce covered the university costs for one of the mentees: Lia Gabrielyan - 45 00 AMD

Volunteer Work Nor Luyce mentees helped the organization in the following: Marine Amirkhanyan helped in doing the evaluation of the organization, thus providing 20 hours of volunteer work. She also helped in realizing Alumni Group project. Mentees: Nina Abgaryan and Julieta Minasyan, also helped to carry out Alumni group project, thus conducting total 39 hours of volunteer work.
