You have a unique approach to developing the brand creating exclusive jewelry and volunteering. When did you come up with this idea? How did you get started? My love for jewelry making did not develop until I went to jewelry design school and designed and created something I loved. Growing up in the jewelry world, I saw jewelry very technically and was overstimulated. But I knew since the age of 18 (when I went on my first volunteering trip) that my heart belonged on the field. The need to help underdeveloped places was a passion that fueled my soul. So, I put what I was most knowledgeable at with what I had a passion for together and created an exceptional jewelry company that created good. Then, all I needed was the inspirational story that glued it all together: I fell in love.

Can you name your influencers? Who supports you in your business and philanthropy? I am greatly inspired by my network of mentors, entrepreneurial women, and spiritual advisors. Some of them even include my aunts (who first got me into Jewelry) and my grandma, who taught me my first steps to understand compassion and love. Since you refused a CAD machine, what are the advantages of hand-crafting? The clasp, which is the most complex aspect of the necklace, is created from wax while the other parts of the necklace are designed on CAD. Jewelry sculpted on wax allows you to create intricate designs that a CAD machine can never fully capture. Each groove and precision of detail displays the technique and emotion of the carver. Each imperfect detail showcases the authenticity of life.

You monitor the design of every necklace creating its own story. Tell us more about the process of jewelry development. What do you take into account?

People have an opportunity to donate while purchasing jewelry brand Samantha Siu. Why have you decided to focus on several different projects?

When I create each necklace, I think about the aesthetics, comfort, and the quality of each design. How does a clasp visually lay on the back? Is the design comfortable? Can the necklace be handed down in the future?

Like the necklace collection, “A Love Affair”, our inspirations can be shaped by many factors and places. My focus on education enrichment, animal conservation, and medical outreach are the building blocks of who I am today and how we can shape a better future tomorrow. Each destination is always heavily influenced by these focuses in “A Love Affair”. Though they may seem very different from each other, they actually work in conjunction with another. Our sister nonprofit, Phoenix Intl Foundation, and our partner non-profits (Save Elephant Foundation and The Neon Lights Museum) work hand in hand with each other where ever we go.

Does your travel experience resonate with creative activity? How do you transform impressions into new ideas? My travels are what guide the path and story of each necklace. Where ever I go, I think about the colors, architecture, and textures that correspond to each destination. I think about symbols and shapes that could lay beautifully on the back of the neck. The history of where I am, along with the footprints I created while I was there outline a necklace’s identity.

12

You have been in the industry for so long. Can you sum up the results achieved?

What can you advise people interested in the fashion industry and want to be philanthropy?

I would like to think I’ve created innovative jewelry that is complemented by the action of doing good.

I would encourage all philanthropic designers to do both at the same time! I would motivate them to design based on the philanthropy work because designs are the most profound when it affects others positively.

What are your plans for the future? I am currently laser-focused on putting a spotlight onto this collection. I aspire to expand the line into rings and earrings while creating a line that targets a lower price point. But we’re going to have to analyze the reception of “A Love Affair.”

Orders will be delivered to boutiques by Dior worldwide and issued with ID. While the collaboration with Nike you’d better expect already in 2021, but definitely, it will be very cool. Singer Billie Eilish and artist Takashi Murakami have teamed for a T-shirt collection exclusively found at Uniqlo. It’s not the first time Murakami and Eilish have worked together either - the Japanese pop artist directed Eilish’s insect-riddled video for “You Should See Me In A Crown.” They then teamed up for a limited range of merch. This woman has an infectious joie de vivre making numerous people follow her. Stella Manente demonstrates the ability of how to promote a career in the fashion industry and enjoy life. In this article, the model speculates about the impact of an influencer on people, her quarantine routine, and plans for the future.

STELLA MANENTE 20

Tell us about yourself. Why did you choose to pursue a career as a model? Who/What influenced you to become a model? Since I was very young I wanted to be someone ...I wanted to do something that made sense. I was creative, I loved fashion, design, the beauty, the harmony....and I felt I could be simultaneously the creative and the instrument, so I started modeling, but choosing and bringing my own ideas. Modeling was the entry door to my dreams, it was the first fundamental step, so I entered;) Which part of your career do you love the most? (Photoshoots, contests, mannequin shows). And why? After modeling in many fashion shows I took a rest, now I adore photoshoots. I make a decision of when, how, where... It is my creation that allows me to be a part of it choosing the right moments, feelings, and emotions. Do you remember the first cover for a famous magazine? How was it? What did you feel? My first cover was L’ Officiel. I remember only emotions, I was there, I was communicating, it was me... my first step towards a new world ;) I felt my dream came true ... And when dreams come true the most important thing is not to forget the moment when you were dreaming about them. What is your greatest weakness, as a model? What are you doing to improve on it? A model is what? Perfection? Who decides it? I am what I am. I have my personality, my body, my expression, my smile, my soul. So I have no weakness. You might like, love me or you might not. And it is up to you. I adore myself... globally.

21

22

What should a person do to become an influencer? Do you consider yourself a successful influencer? Why? An influencer is becoming a reference, it is the one who opens new doors, who brings you to a new world, helps you in the choice. It is the one you trust. So, it is a big responsibility when people you don’t know start referring to you. Consequently, you become a part of their life, choices, opinions, taste, ideas. I decided to take responsibility with humility, and I think I value this trust. In addition to your work, you have lots of hobbies. How can you find time to diversify? I adore life, I want to become richer and richer in terms of emotions, feelings, knowledge, and share them. So there is a new challenge, a new experience, or something new to discover every day. My favorite hobbies are horse riding, yoga, and running.

23

What did you do during quarantine? Do you have some tips on how to stay productive even during such hard times? Quarantine has been a revolution, I was so active, wellorganized, and full of energy. I could only count on my energy and on my own. So, I asked myself ‘What can I do for other people and for myself’. So I discovered how to share what I loved - yoga, beauty tips, cooking and poems, tales. I shared some of my passions. I reopened all “boxes, drawers” accumulated during my life. So, I went back to my values, my family, my dreams, and my teaching. I have to say it was a Wonderful quarantine;) Are you going to have new projects after quarantine? I have plenty of beautiful projects. Take it slow, I will announce them. For sure, I will use all my energy to become a great actress. I promised it myself ;)

24

Who is your favorite actress? What directory would you choose to star in a movie? Audrey Hepburn. I guess Cameron would suit me very well. What famous tv show did you participate in? What is the main idea of this show? I’ve recently participated in a reality show called «The pupa and the nerd» on demand of a very popular channel and presented by an Italian actor, comedian, TV presenter, and director. His name is Paolo Ruffini. The format comes from the US and it is defined by the authors as a «social experiment» involving the union of two very different worlds that will have to live 24 hours a day and overcome challenges of intelligence, logic, sportive endurance, etc. I didn’t win the program but I arrived second and I’m very proud of my path. It was an experience that I will preserve forever.

The Apollo X Rage shoes, inspired by Michelangelo’s work. These shoes are a visual representation of both Rage and Apollo’s brand, the hours of hand painting gone into the design has resulted in both shoes containing an immense amount of detail. You can purchase this bespoke pair on the website apolloapparel.co.uk Designers socials: @apolloclothing._ & @rage.clthng Models Socials: @ffionpritchardd & @leahhjp

42

Apollo Apparel is a brand that uses sneakers as a canvas to portray modern-day art with a sentimental twist. This brand is based around Ancient Greek culture mixed with modern-day street wear. The brand has its roots in the idea that art is something to wear as a statement. Not something to keep in the shadows. Bespoke solutions and the hand painted nature gives a personal aspect to the shoes. The collaboration with Rage was to express both brands’ visions in art itself. Together, they succeed to create something like never before. The AxR custom Air Force 1. Rage Clothing is inspired by street wear that shows the aesthetic of Japanese and New York fashion. Created to display art on pieces of clothing. Rage Clothing decided to collaborate with Apollo for growth and have built a strong business relationship to spread the art. They have just launched a limited custom sneaker collection under Apollo Called AxR AIR FORCE ONE. Now, Rage Clothing is working on developing their own brand and making stores available for people to not just buy clothes but to see & create art.

43

How exactly was the idea of combining two brands born and why did you choose this fashion designer as a partner?

truly believe that hand designed sneakers can be seen as a work of art rather than a typical factory produced shoe.

When considering a fashion partner to collaborate with, Rage stood out to me for its contrasting design ideas compared to our brand Apollo. The vibe of the brand is a complete opposite to Apollo and that’s what instantly caught my eye.

Does your profession affect personal style?

What inspires you while creating different types of shoes?

Which world-known brand do amazing(besides yours, of course)?

When designing I often take inspiration from each of the following industries: modern fashion, Streetwear, designer brands, and shoes/ sneakers. However, I truly feel inspired by art itself, and combining artwork with sneakers is my true passion.

Off white and palm angels are brands that I consider to be extraordinary due to the way they have changed the fashion (Streetwear) industry. Especially, off white which has stormed the sneakers game!

Yes, it does. Since starting my brand last year my eyes have been opened to a world of fashion I had not known before and has truly grown. you

consider

Describe your collection in 5 words. Do you think that shoes designed by hand are much better than those which are produced by the factory? Do you think that hand-designed shoes are special? I think that designing shoes by hand gives the customer more of a sentimental value than a mass-produced, factory item. Due to its bespoke features, the customer can feel empowered, confident, and original when wearing a hand designed pair of sneakers. I 44

Artistic, characteristic, historical, modern, and a masterpiece. What are the most unpleasant or the best moment associated with the creation of this collection? The best part of creating the collection was coming up with design ideas and then being able to execute it without destroying the shoes in the process.

Who is your favorite artist and did he somehow influence the style of the collection? Michelangelo is definitely one of my favourite artists and has most definitely inspired many aspects of the collection. What gave an impetus to create such an unusual style? The design on the shoes shows a physical representation of our individual brands coming together to show how we pushed the boundaries of each other to adapt to our different styles. What do you expect from your customers and are you thirsty for worldwide fame in the world of fashion? Most definitely! I hope that in the near future I am able to take Apollo to the next level and be able to make things that I love for my customers.

Kateryna Markevich has already helped about 4 thousand people to become healthy lifestyle devotee. She believes that coaching includes moral support, self-improvement, and hard work. A well-diversified woman being involved in blogging, economics, politics, and sports talks about what a healthy lifestyle really means.

KATERYNA MARKEVICH 46

Tell us about your professional choice. When did you become actively interested in sports, and why? I became actively involved in sports at 18. I wanted to be a coach and help others. What personal qualities help you to achieve your goals in your profession? My main personal quality is perseverance. I know that I need to do my best to achieve results. What makes for a perfect coach? How can we choose our «mentor»? The perfect coach is the one who understands without words. Your coach becomes a mentor when he or she encourages you. I try so hard to get in contact with a person because this person should not only keep physically fit but stay strong mentally. Who can become your student? My student can be a person who is ready to work hard for others. I already have two students who are successfully employed. What are the most important aspects to know while starting a healthy lifestyle? The main aspect is that you need to change the harmful to the beneficial, and understand that a healthy lifestyle is one of the wisest decisions. What are your goals for the future? What other challenges would you like to manage? I set myself short-term goals. I am planning to become a rehabilitation specialist, conquer Eileen Peak (Everest), become a successful politician, and open several gyms and rehabilitation centers. Do you have a specific daily schedule? Is it possible to be always on time? Every morning starts with exercises, a glass of water, and jogging. I have my breakfast at 10.am and dinner at 5.pm. I work out and do my job. I don’t always have enough time for everything, but I try to stick to what I’ve planned. What biding rules of a healthy person can you outline? What advice would you give to our readers to maintain their health?

A healthy person is the one who monitors nutrition, does sports, and reinforce self-development. Don’t be afraid to start exercising and having a balanced diet. Start with something small. Tell us about yourself. Why did you choose to pursue a career as a model? Who/What inspired you to be a model?

More and more people prove that fashion standards have changed. What do you think about new types of models? What do they look like? They really have changed! With brands “accepting” models who are not the standard, we have seen a change in the direction of branding but at times this has been a result of performative activism. For brands who are opting to make the change because they realize the beauty of all different ethnic backgrounds, shapes and sizes. Adding to the uniqueness of the individual, modeling agencies and brands alike are now being open to the idea of models who have dreadlocks, braids, tattoos and piercings of all different shapes, styles and colors. It is refreshing to see this change in the industry.

Photographer: Joyanne Panton

I remember myself being a huge Tyra Banks fan. I liked her so much that I began collecting magazines with Tyra on the cover. Seeing her as a super successful Black model in the model industry, propelled my love for my future job. As an added bonus, I also have green eyes and even people would tell me “you look like Tyra Banks”. As much as I knew that I wanted to become a model, going to University was also non-negotiable for me. That is why after first year of University, I resigned from my job and pursue modeling full time. It was a scary transition, but I knew that I always had 2 college degrees to use. For me, plan A was to make from my passion for modelling as my main job.

If we compare Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Show, which one is more modern due to different kinds of models? I guess, watching a Savage X Fenty show checks off all the boxes of being more modern.Victoria’s Secret is known for their who are all slim and elegantly tall models. On the contrary, while a Fenty show includes many of the same models that you would see gliding down a VS showes. Rihanna balances and showcases the true nature of modern inclusivity and diversity without just having a token few. She promotes femininity and masculinity all in one show which many of these aspects is unlike what is portrayed in a Victoria’s Secret show.

Photographer: Tommy Chung

You have your own model coaching business. Could you describe what the main idea of your business is? I started my company Prime Angles, Inc. where I coach models via a series of live video model coaching sessions focused on how to develop their portfolio, how to spot and avoid scams, how to best submit to an agency to increase their odds of getting signed, hands on posing tips etc. I want models to be properly equipped to navigate the modeling industry safely and with the right tools so that they can make informed decisions along each step of pursuing their career goals.

Photographer: Tommy Chung

And what about your modeling career? How have you been able to make a career as a commercial model? I thought fashion was the only way to gain success in the industry and quickly realized that while I sometimes would book fashion work, that commercial modeling was best suited for my look. I have worked with brands and clients ranging from The Ritz-Carlton, Stella McCartney, Disney, IT Cosmetics, The Kardashians and Ashley HomeStore to name a few. I even got to travel to Cape Town, South Africa for 3 months with a modeling contract as a result of this commercial path in my career. What are your plans for the future? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I prefer to focus on my professional aspirations for purposes of this interview. One major career goal is to update and finally publish the full-length book that I already wrote which serves as a guide to aspiring models trying to break into the modeling industry. Next, I’ve always aspired to do more beauty work campaigns such as Sephora and Savage X Fenty. Ultimately, I see expanding my company Prime Angles, Inc. into other forms of model coaching classes, courses and products. I wish to branch out into doing more inperson seminars, blogger type conferences and women empowerment events. 50

EDISA SHAHINI Model : Edisa Shahini @edisashahini Ph: Daniela Mere @daniela_mere_photography

With great pleasure we would like to present an interview with a full time blogger and freelance PR & online marketing manager - Edisa Shanini. She is mostly known for high-quality content, polished aesthetic and premium brand alignment, Disi Couture counts luxury brands like Breitling, Sensai Cosmetics.

Describe how did you get into blogging? In 2010 I started my blog on topics I was passionate about, such as fashion, beauty, travel and interior. Then I decided to post individual street style articles. This was a breakthrough as I started to realize how blogging worked and how important is to share personal content is. I was motivated to start a blog by the reason to encourage readers globally. We know that you have a blog platform Disi Couture. How long does a blogpost take per day? To write a blogpost often depends on topic, sometimes creating the photography content takes longer than the text; sometimes other way around. Sometimes I spend hours, days, even weeks on a piece of content, and, finally I hit publish. On my blog you can see how much effort I put on each blogpost. How is it to be a blogger? What difficulties did you encounter? And what are the advantages of this activity? Being a blogger is not easy because you have no idea how some influencers became so successful with sky-high number of followers. There is lot of pressure, but I still believe “quality is better than the quantity“. The advantages to be a blogger are: to be independent, to have the space of creating content you are passionate about and to be yourself.

52

Who has impacted you most in blogging and how? The biggest impact and inspiration to become a blogger were fashion magazines, as well as the first bloggers like Diane Pernet, founder of A Shaded View on Fashion, Bryanboy.

Create your own style, what suits you the best. Labels don’t define your style, but how you wear your clothes. Focus on developing your personal style, and forget the trends.

What Internet platforms do you work with? Where is it more convenient for you?

What interesting brands and people did you collaborate with and what brands do you already work with?

I wish I’d knew how difficult will be to transfer the website to WordPress. With with lot of struggles, I managed to transfer everything from Blogger to WordPress. WordPress is a great platform and it allows you to adjust your website as you wish.

I have worked with numerous brands already, and built strong professional relationship such as with Leading Hotels of the World, Breitling, Dior Beauty, Sensai Cosmetics, Revolve, H&M, Syoss, La Prairie, Lacoste etc.

You have a fairly large Instagram audience. How did you manage to get so many subscribers?

You are a very beautiful and gorgeous woman. What is the secret of your beauty?

Since 203 It has been a long journey. Lot of magazines, channels, people who knew me, shared my profile. So eventually, I was noticed and people started to follow me.

That’s a lovely compliment, thank you. The older I get, the more I feel confident in my skin. I take extra time to treat my skin and sleep regularly 8 hour. Most important is that I appreciate my perfectly imperfect body.

What would you recommend to new bloggers? How to start? How to find your niche and make it interesting for others?

We are very interested to know about your plans for the future. Can you share with us?

You need to have a good business plan, and find your niche. Create something you are passionate about. When you put in the time, dedication, passion and raw effort – you can make it!

I definitely want to continue with my blog, however it will go into ‘Lifestyle, Health and Wellness’ direction. Currently I am doing a Pilates reformer trainee, so my goal is one day to have a nice Pilates reformer studio, inspiring my community to stay healthy and take time for self-care.

You dress in a very stylish and elegant manner. Can you share a tip on how to find your own personal style? 53

For half a century, KENZO has been infusing positive energy and contagious freedom by claiming a polychrome, daring, and borderless fashion that celebrates nature and cultural diversity. Kenzo is a fashion phenomenon. In 1970, an unknown designer from Japan suddenly presented in Paris a collection that simply made a splash, having crossed out those fashion trends. Kenzo was inspired by the aesthetics of the jungle creating his collections. A loose cut and bright colors, unprecedented ethnic motifs, and geometric patterns demonstrated on the French catwalks impressed the audience. Even though the old school might have condemned the experiments done by a young fashion designer, it was the other way around. And in an instant, a guy from a poor Japanese family found himself famous. The French fell in love with the bold identity of Kenzo.

56

The House continues to cultivate and reinterpret with modernity the codes that make its uniqueness: the mix of prints, the harmony of refined colors and exuberant and sophisticated creativity imbued with optimism and impertinence. Kenzo was the one who introduced abstract and loose clothes and made them fashionable. He abandoned accessories that emphasized the shape of the body - it was revolutionary during the period of elegant glamor. Kenzo broke all the patterns, astonishing the fashion world not only with the extravagance of his clothes but also with enchanting fashion shows. They are not just fashion shows of models, but a real performance with castles, flowers, bridges. By appointing the Portuguese designer, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, to head its artistic direction, KENZO instills a new dynamic and confirms the development of its potential. Driven by a creative vision combining aesthetic requirement and functionality, in line with the House’s DNA, Felipe Oliveira Baptista is defining a new chapter in the history of the brand, while respecting its unique heritage. Nowadays, many celebrities such as Beyonce, Rihanna, Selena Gomez prefer brand Kenzo wearing t-shirts, sweatshirts, tops, dressers, etc.

I know for sure that the most important factors for a successful business are: 1. Social media and media 2. Google AdWords 3. Networking All three of these factors allow your business to grow faster! That’s why my company is doing just that! It is important for me to bring benefit to society!

Your life is so satiated and are fulled by many occasions so it is really interesting to know if there are there moments when you would like to be alone and fly away to relax for some days or you prefer to keep going with new ideas without taking pauses? Rest should always be - this is a rule! You need to give yourself a short time to exhale and be alone with yourself! Returning to the age when you were 20 what advice could you give to yourself?

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Igor, you are doing everything right! Even if times could be turned back, I would never change anything!

One advice - move forward your dreams and goals! Just get off the couch and go, never give up! If you are honest and benefit society, then success is guaranteed for you!

Do you have your personal motto for life which keeps you creating such wonderful project as Quality Standard and Dubai People?

As you said in your previous interview you began doing business at the young age, so how did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Motto - your inner voice knows the whole truth, just listen to yourself!

It all starts with an idea, but that’s not enough! You always need to learn and improve yourself and your team! There will be no progress without development! My business is about one thing - packaging and brand development! Therefore, I always analyze the best way how to achieve quick results! Just then I start creating the product! Looking at your hight-temped way to a successful life did you had a failure moments when you wanted to put your hands down? If yes, could you please share with us? 62

Like any person I have my difficult moments too, but I try not to allow myself to be in this state for a long time. I just know one thing - I love what I do. To be honest, I really enjoy my work. Therefore, everything is simple because if you like what you do- you will never fall down!

Your businesses are built on exquisite experiences but how do you define an entrepreneur on your own? Any entrepreneur - is a person who takes risks and wants to change the world! An entrepreneur - is a person who answers the question “what to do?”

NICOLAS BROCHET It is apparent that the revival of normality will take time but what inspired you to create in the nearest future the International Fashion Music Art Festival Magic Island Abu Dhabi? During the whole period of lockdown, we all had an invaluable and unique opportunity to slow down and explore ourselves, understanding ourselves better. That is why I took full advantage of it because clearly understood what I wanted to do and what I didn’t. Music, Art and Fashion are three the greatest passions of my life. I felt the urge to share these affections with thousands of people in the most bright, fascinating and outstanding manner and a Festival is just a perfect way to do it. You are often characterised as a forerunner of numerous high-end promotional hospitality projects, including night clubs, hotels, restaurants and international events. What is success for you then? When I see that my endeavors results in making lots of people happy, truly enjoying the moment and appreciating this gift of life here and now, that’s what I believe a true success is.

Nicolas Brochet is on the forefront of numerous highend promotional hospitality projects, including night clubs, hotels, restaurants and international events. With huge experience in marketing, event management and media Nicolas shows his full expertise and power of his international network by building and developing brands like Zuhair Murad or luxury holding Groupe Richemont, for which he has been responsible for brands such as Cartier and Piaget in Paris, Saint-Tropez, Monaco, Geneva as well as in Courchevel, Dubai and Moscow. Another notable holding is LVMH, with brands Dior and Pucci and Louis Vuitton for which he has most notably hosted shows in Paris and Saint-Tropez. Moreover, he is a first founder of the Festival, which combine Fashion Art. And Music. Nicolas Brochet wants to put in the light the Magical Abu Dhabi and to give an international exposure to UAE with this iconic event.

Let us imagine that all plans of Fashion Music Art Festival Magic Island Abu Dhabi worked good, you achieved your purpose and everybody is satisfied with this event. Will you organise a kind of this show again and if yes how often? This Festival was initially planed as an annual event, so of course I’m determined to host it again and again. And there are more various festivals and events I have in my mind. During these 6 months spent in UAE, I’ve discovered myriads of amazingly beautiful places! Magnificent mountains, stunning seashores and never-ending desert made me want to share these beautiful landscapes through such events. Many artist are scheduled to be a part of Fashion Music Art Festival Magic Island Abu Dhabi. Did you have in your mind to invite new and young performers to show the whole world new faces, at the same time giving new opportunities to fresh person? Exactly, along with world-famous DJ’s I want to present new names and new faces of young and talented performers, especially orientals.

Why have you chosen Nurai Magic Island as a place to hold such an iconic event? I discovered Nurai during this period of lockdown and had an absolutely magical, peaceful experience there, at the so called Maldives of UAE. And now I want to share and savor all these emotions once again but this time together with my friends and guests of the festival. As lockdown and restrictions continue to be prolonged, how do you stay positive in such situations and what actions you undertake? I keep staying absolutely positive despite the risk of prolongation of restrictions as I see an impressively positive impact on people’s lives, changing in the better ways. People are becoming less spoiled and more focused on simple and vital things, finally allowing themselves to enjoy the moment and being grateful for this beautiful and fragile gift of life. Our life is our story and each moment is a new chapter.

And to conclude our pleasant interview what advice are you remembering to keep yourself going? Always follow your dreams and live your life like a dream, generously sharing happiness, passion and love as I believe in the simple law of the Universe - the more you give with a pure heart, the more you get in return. May all your days be merry and all your dreams come true! You intend to ostend national exposure and make this a long-lasting and annual event. What actions are most important to attain this aim? To make it an unforgettable and iconic event, everything should be performed on the highest possible level. Every detail matters. To attract the best people, we need to arrange the best gala dinners, most interesting art exhibitions, first-class DJ performances in order to satisfy and please all the main senses off each of the guests. If you do it with love and passion everything works right.

This is an interview with a successful model, who moved from Moldova to Paris − Natalia Kostiunina. Today we have a pleasure to meet such a talented and professional in her field person. Natalia has been in the field of modeling since 2012, after participating in the “Miss Celebration” beauty contest. As she says, modeling for her is a profitable hobby.

NATALIA COSTIUNINA Natalia, you have moved from Moldova to Paris. Can you call yourself «French» already? Do you feel at home in Paris? I moved to Paris a little over a year ago and very quickly joined this atmosphere. If you love style, beauty, art and small cafes on the banks of the Seine, then you can proudly consider yourself French. Before I went somewhere, I always missed Moldova, my home. Now, wherever I am, I miss the atmosphere of Paris − I think yes, I consider Paris as my home. You worked as a model in Moldova and now in Paris. Did you notice the modeling difference?Where is it more comfortable to work? For me, modeling is a profitable hobby. I have been in the field of modeling since 2012, after participating in the Miss Celebration beauty contest. When I moved to Paris, I happily hanged myself that there were interesting projects for me. In my opinion, photographers and brands, who hire models, are everywhere looking for professionalism, natural beauty and a beautiful smile. The only difference I feel here is that, in contrast to Moldova, models do not always have their hair and makeup done by professionals. Natural beauty and positive energy are more important in Paris. 66

In Paris, there is obviously a lot of competition among models. Have any unpleasant incidentshappened to you? What is the relationship between the models? I have never participated in casting. Fortunately, It always happened successfully that I was found and invited without any competition or selection. On the other hand, I had couples photo sessions with models. I still get along fine with girls. Of course, there is a lot of competition on the sites of models here and there are a lot of beautiful professional models from their world. Parisian photographers - who are they? What is the specificity of working with them? Parisian photographers are very expressive and emotional. They love to compliment models while they work and are not afraid to make a comment if they don’t like something. It is very conformable to work with them. When they take pictures they merge into art and practically hear nothing else. They also really like working with Slavic girls. Do you have secrets and personal beauty tricks? What are the obligatory habits of girls incaring for their appearance? Beauty, freshness and grooming are very important in every girl, especially if she is a model. It is very important for me to eat healthy, exercise and choose the right cosmetics and care products. In my opinion, it is very important to moisturise the skin of the face and body. I can spend a decent amount of money on care products, so that later I don’t have to spend money on cosmetics and procedures to hide all the flaws that appear after improper care. I also always wash off my makeup before bed − no matter how tired I feel. And the rest is all genetics − thanks to Mom.

HOME ACCESSORIES COLLECTIONS BY TIFFANY & CO AND LOUIS VUITTON Even though numerous brands have encountered some obstacles related to designing, shooting, presenting, or releasing new collections, the lockdown has demonstrated new approaches and possibilities to create beauty. Thus, our home has become the primary location this spring. Such a situation presupposes the blurred lines between the comfort of home and the work environment. And it is not surprising that fashion houses even in this situation have figured out a solution and delight their fans with intriguing collections. For instance, The French fashion house introduced the Resort 2021 collection, designed during the quarantine. The authors gave serious consideration to the manufacturing process. Oliver Rusten, creative director of the brand notes that the embroidery was done by women who worked in their kitchens in southern Italy, while Japanese craftsmen worked in their living rooms. Apparently, the whole process was quite difficult. Nevertheless, the most challenging task was to opt for the fabrics since negotiations were conducted via Zoom. The designer had to delve into the study of the

archives of the fashion house to create the collection with positive vibes. The looks for Resort 2021 consist of colored suits with shorts, dresses with hypertrophied puff sleeves, bourgeois tops, dresses and jackets embroidered with large stones and crystals. The outfits are complemented by retro-styled sunglasses, hats, bright bracelets, and monochrome bags. The global pandemic of the coronavirus might be a reason to close all stores are Tiffany & Co. in North America, although these desperate measures do not imply the end of new jewelry. While the whole world should obey the quarantine regulations, Tiffany officially unveiled T1 digitally by posting campaign videos and images on its website and promoting it on Instagram. Vittoria Ceretti, Freya Beja Eriksen, and Adut Akech participated in the campaign appearing in videos as superheroes. The brand uses “Courage. Power.Optimism to describe the recent collection.

Two New York based girls are from different cities but sharing work background in the fashion industry and the same aim for the future. Anna Natochi and Anna Sitnikova are the founders of Women’s Club The Vmeste thevmesteclub and Trivia games IMOM’S imoms.nyc, talk about the arrangement of their quizzes and the peculiarities of the club.

ANNA & ANNA SITNIKOVA NATOCHI Photographer: Anna Ferra @newfacesny

70

How did you start? What is your background? Anna Natochi: I moved to New York 8 years ago. It was time, believe it or not, before Instagram. Life was much harder without it. I was in the fashion industry back in Kiev and was dreaming about building a career in the same field. So I started working as a Fashion Buyer and got a Master’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management. Then something just happened and I found myself being a freelancer in Marketing and Events. Plans are changing and this is a beauty of life. Anna Sitnikova: Back in my college years I was dreaming about having my own agency. I used to live in Moscow and was working in the fashion and event industries for five years. I organized fashion shows and catwalks for fashion weeks, charity dinners, movie premieres, we worked a lot with celebrities and the best Media channels in Moscow. I also helped in developing sport marketing in Russia. And two years ago I moved to the USA. Thanks to all the experience I had before it was easier to start my own business here in New York. What projects have already been implemented within the community? AS: A year ago I realized that there are no home style events for girls where they could come and talk about anything. First I organized a series of such events at my apartment and invited different speakers from beauty, fashion, business and psychology fields. These events always lasted much longer than was announced — everyone kept talking and networking. So all of us — guests, speakers and me — we became not just friends, we found professional partners for different collaborations. My guests were so grateful and I decided to take the next step — start organizing bigger events for women. Then we met with Anna and decided to work together. Both of us are strong in communications and gave great experience in events — it was a perfect match.

Model: Anna Sitnikova @annie.newyork Photographer: Aleksandra Barannikova @sasha_barannikova

AN: I was a journalist and had a fashion blog back in Ukraine. And when I moved to New York, I started missing writing. I didn’t speak English, and no one needed my writing on Russian. On the other hand, I didn’t want to create just a regular blog about immigrant’s life in the USA. So I came up with the idea to launch a digital platform publishing interviews with successful Russian-speaking women. I didn’t plan to do this project as a commercial one, it was “just for fun”. Somehow, it worked out and now we have a Digital Magazine, Women’s Club and Marketing Agency for women owned businesses. All under one name —The Vmeste.

71

Let’s talk about Trivia games IMOM’S. How did you come up with the idea? Could you tell us about the overall concept? AN: I was already organizing events for women for a few years at that point. And we were getting comments like “Oh, I’d love to join, but I have a baby to stay with…” pretty often. We are immigrants and most of us don’t have all family members and big support here. So, I realized that we really need some project with events where our guests could come with children. And guess what, just a few months later, Anna called me and we met for coffee… AS: IMOM’S Trivia games is an amazing opportunity for every girl, and especially mothers, to have a good 3 hours rest with other women. Our games aren’t just quiz games like other trivia clubs in New York. We create real celebration experience with a big show program: Dj, host, gifts, photo and video coverage. There’s always much more besides interesting women’s questions on logic, erudition, intuition. It’s an amazing experience for the whole family: a child plays with other children and the animators in a separate room while mothers are playing. And fathers can do whatever they need meanwhile. So far we organized just six games and each had up to 80 guests. How did you decide to establish a Women Club? Could you tell us the story behind this idea? AN: It was really organically. AS: We both were already organizing a lot of events for women, working with some women owned businesses and the Women’s Club was just a next step to get all this more organized. What features of your club sets it apart from other clubs? AN: Basically, we don’t really have competitors. I love this project because it’s almost unique. There are some other similar projects, but they are much smaller and not consistent. We organize at least one event per week which is really often for such a limited community. Also, we have a personal discount card for each member. They receive discounted pricing and special offers from our business partners.

72

AS: The same is with IMOM’S — there are few Russian-speaking quiz games in New York. But none of them is for women only, none of them accepts children during the events and no one else has so many gifts and entertainment as we do. Please tell us about Membership. How many different plans do you offer? What are the benefits and advantages of being a member? AS: We decided to organize it in the simplest way, so no one is getting confused. We offer a 3, 6 and 12 months subscription plans. Members with a year-long membership have the lowest prices per event, they can bring a friend once per month, promote their own business or service via our community. AN: Recently we added 2 new plans. A package of 10 events for member’s choice and membership for online events — such as webinars, marathons, etc. This way we are planning on attracting women from outside New York. What kind women are members of the Club? And can anyone get there? AN: All our events from the very first one are organized in Manhattan. We managed to attract many business owners, entrepreneurs, bloggers and influencers. When this kind of people gather together — you can feel it in the air. This level of inspiration is hard to recreate. We are very proud of our crowd. AS: Almost everyone, yes. We have some soft restrictions by age, but other than that everyone is free to join. Our main goal is to create a big strong community with the space for growth, inspiration and support for each other. How is club life organized? AS: We keep in touch with our members not like organizers, but like friends. We really care about each other and build that kind of relationship where we help each other and aren’t afraid to ask for advice. We have a Telegram channel with open dialogues and useful information.

What kind of events do you organize? AN: We always have a plan of our events at least a month ahead. We cover different areas of life: business, self-development, creativity. We are trying to invite the best speakers to participate, so we can give our guests really valuable information. What are your plans for the future? Do you want to open your projects outside of New York? AN: Yes, back in January I already spent a month in Miami working on opening our projects there. We believe that each city needs a community like this. AS: There are so many Russian-speaking women who move to the USA without friends. Everyone needs some support, inspiration and an opportunity to learn something new. We are planning to cover New York, Miami and Los Angeles, and for other cities we will be offering franchises soon. What could you advise for finding success? AS: Don’t be afraid of anything. Go straight ahead and be confident. If not alone then with a reliable partner. AN: Work on yourself first, then — on your projects and daily routine. Get your mind on the right path, work on selfdevelopment and keep yourself happy — as much as possible.
