Shape Up for Your Simcha By: ModiInfo Staff

Procrastinating is easy to do. Usually it takes some outside force to finally motivate us to do what we’ve been putting off. Making a simcha is often an opportunity to take care of those things we’ve been trying to ignore. For some it may be painting the house, fixing things that have broken or getting better organized. For many it is simply getting our bodies in shape so we can look and feel our best at our big event. Starting an exercise routine is not just about losing the weight to fit into a dress for one occasion but about a commitment to a lifestyle change that includes better eating habits and more. The goal should be about gaining the energy to look and feel our best as opposed to shedding as many pounds as quickly as possible which we all know will eventually find their way back on. There are so many kinds of exercises and classes available as well as many gyms that finding the right place to start can be very overwhelming. You want to find something that’s right for you as well as something you will enjoy. A great starting point is Pilates, a body conditioning routine that helps build flexibility, long lean muscles, strength and endurance. Pilates focuses on developing a strong core as well as on correct breathing. Although created in 1883

by Joseph Pilates, the exercise has become very popular recently. The Body in Mind Pilates Studio uses the classic Pilates method and personal attention to help their clients achieve healthier, leaner bodies. They recently took the success of their Jerusalem studio on Emek Refaim and their Tel Aviv studio on Rothschild and opened a third studio on Nahal Sorek in Modiin. They offer private, semiprivate or small classes to meet the needs of each individual. The instructors at Body In Mind will recommend the right arrangement for you and you will be taken by the friendly, non-threatening and professional atmosphere. Although it’s often hard to take the first step, joining a class or setting up a regular session ensures commitment that pays off. Making that call will be one of the best outcomes of your simcha. With some hard work and guidance, by your next event, getting in shape, will no longer be on your to-do list. Body In Mind is located on 8 Nahal Sorek, 08-970-2202.
