Together, with the help of donors, supporters, and volunteers, the Missoula Y is helping ensure that everyone in our community has the opportunity to live healthy, productive lives, no matter their backgrounds.

Every Gift Makes A Difference A donation to the Y is a gift to our community. NOTES FROM HANNA • •

Did you know? Rolled oats are a whole grain! Whole grains contain three parts— bran, germ, and endosperm. With all three parts intact, whole grains provide important nutrients such as fiber, iron, and B vitamins. Refined grains are grains that only contain one part of the grain and have less nutrients than whole grains.

KIDS CORNER Paper Tree Craft This festive tree craft is a fun project for adults and kids alike! Illustrations courtesy of Eli Catton.

SUPPLIES Construction paper Scissors Decorations such as glitter, markers, or stickers (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS 1. Start with a square piece of paper. Fold diagonally to form a triangle. Unfold the triangle and refold in the opposite direction. This will form an X in the middle of your square.

2. With the point of the X facing up, pinch the sides of the page to create a triangle. Lay the shape flat and crease the edges.

3. There will now be four flaps. Each of these must be opened, pushed flat, and then creased in half.

4. Once all four are halved and creased (creating eight flaps), trim the bottom of the tree flat. On each of the eight flaps, use the scissors to make three small incisions reaching about halfway through the flap. Fold the top of each incision down to create pointed branches for the tree.
