UPCOMING EVENTS PREPARATION My days in Brazil has been very busy.This time of the year the wind is better than usual and is possible for us to sail everyday with slalom gear.Here is Fortaleza we can get different sea conditions in a very short distance.For me this is great, as i’m trying to be ready to Sylt the best way possible.Normally i’m sailling in flat water off shore and onshore with swells.I’m very happy with the performance of my equipment and how easy they are to use, starting with rigging.Most of the days I’m out with 7.7 and 8.4, but got some good days for 6.6 and 7.0 too.Every size seems to be working perfectly. Slalom in Brazil is growing a lot these day, the local races are getting better and better. For me this is perfect, so I can get use to slalom starts again. Out of water preparation is also very intense!!! Getting in the Bike 3 times a week and doing some weight and cross trainning.I’m happy to keep my weight, about 91kg, but i’m feeling my body much lighter.Right now, I’m couting days to arrive in Sylt.This will be my first PWA slalom event after some years out of tour.Looking forward to get some races with all the boys there.I know Sylt is not the easiest for me beacuse of the cold weather that i’m not very use to it but I’ll definetly do my best there!! JULY IN GERMANY I had a great holliday with the fimaly. we went with the boat to the wadden sea in the north of the netherlands. sad enough there wasn’t with all the time and could i only surf twice in ona and a half week.but the times i could surf were great. 7.5 full power and a mark i could practice my jipes witch a slowely increasing.next weekend the nationals, excited what that is going to bring! see you on the water! DUTCH NATIONAL SLALOM CHAMPIONSHIP In august we had the second round of the slalom championship in the Netherlands at the location Stavoren. The first round was held in June at the Grevelingendam and there is one more planned in October at the classic location Scheveningen. At the Grevelingendam we had good western winds (with lots of rain) for the combination of TRXI 8.4 with the large board and at Stavoren we had strong eastern winds (with lots of sunshine) for the combination of TRXI 7.0 and 6.3 with medium/small boards. In all of the competition days my speed was very good, even though the course was tricky and difficult. The gybing is improving, getting closer to perfect every time. Starting is going very well too, but can be slightly more consistent. It has been great fun to compete the nationals and until now I’m really satisfied with my 9th place. A little update from your danish teamrider Mads Jepsen I have in the last 10 days been in Hvidesande to compete at the biggest competition in skandinavia. The first days we where racing long distance slalom where i won the junior division, and was in the top 7 i think overall, with a big lead over the other juniors.

The next 2 days we had the fifth competition of the national ranking, with winds gusting up to 55 knots, i was flying with the PD sl 92 and a 4,0 wave sail and after the first day i was in a really good position. Second day we started with one Formula race in strong winds where i was with my PD formula v3 and TRX1 10,0, i finished in 6 position here which was not the best because i was 3th at the first upwind mark. After that one race we where back to slalom and i raced with PD 115 v2 and TRX1 7,7 where i was struggling a bit to find a good trim and a good top speed, so i made some really bad results which i wasen`t really happy about. But i finished the competition in 6th overall and 2 youth, just behind Martin Hovda from Norway.

​ inally the last 6 days i was participating in the IFCA freestyle/wave youth worlds. F we where freestyling in light winds and i was with the PD f-style 93 and Mauisails Loco Pro 5,2. I manage to win all my heats until the semifinal where i was up against PWA pro Amado, where i lost :( and in the loosers final i was up against another PWA sailor Moritz Mauch, where i could`t really get to feel comfortable and didn`t really good so many moves in, so i lost again and finished in 4 position which i am still very proud of. ​ hanks for making the best possible gear for all the different disciplines. I can`t wait to T get back training to get better for next year and to see what the future will bring. Br Mads Jepsen DEN-15
