Processing trials are fundamental in any Research and Development (R&D) organisation within the Dairy and Food industry, and pilot plants play a vital role. The pilot plants must be highly flexible to meet the ever-changing demands in R&D work, easy to operate and intuitive to control whilst having a compact design to minimise required product volume for trials.

Designing pilot plants can be an engineering challenge. Compact designs and small volumes, high flexibility and functionality, must go hand in hand with operator friendliness. SiccaDania Filtration has designed, engineered and delivered multiple pilot plants to customers within the dairy and food industry. Some pilot plants are custom-designed for specific applications while others are engineered based on specifications from our customers.

SiccaDania Filtration are specialists in membrane filtration plants for the dairy and food industry. Their technologies are used in a wide range of applications as well as in many sub-processes. Multipurpose Pilot Plant (MPP) - A unique development tool

The compact pilot plant (MPP) is a versatile plant with basically all features possible, yet still operating with very low hold up volumes to ensure economic trials and test set-ups. All parameters are easily adjusted on the touchscreen control panel, making this a true multipurpose unit that is extremely easy to operate and perform extensive and repeatable trials with.

The plant consists of 2 x 3.8” pressure vessels that can run in parallel or series and also run as a LeanFlux plant for low-pressure applications.

LeanFlux® pilot plant – A unique concept at your service

LeanFlux® is a unique combination of proven technology using existing components and known flow principles around the modules & membranes achieving significantly improved performances.

LeanFlux® will open new opportunities and possible applications for cross flow membrane filtration. Entirely new boundaries and processing limits are yet to be explored and determined to the full extent.

LeanFlux® crossflow filtration is mainly suitable for MF & UF applications, where yield, efficiency and functionality depend on low and controllable Transmembrane Pressure (TMP) as well as controllable linear velocity (crossflow). LeanFlux will allow completely new and unseen levels of processing parameters.

SiccaDania Filtration created a unique development tool - the LeanFlux® (4x1) Pilot Plant. The LeanFlux® segmented module construction will allow high flexibility and an accelerated development cycle for new applications.

The pilot plant also improves effectiveness (time and product saving) e.g. allowing trials using four (4) different types of membrane with equal processing parameters in one (1) process trial.

Alternatively, customers can apply four (4) different processing parameters on the same type of membrane in one (1) processing trial

The LeanFlux® Pilot plant application software will ensure intuitive and easy operation. The increased data collection opportunities will allow full and fast process scalability through SiccaDania Filtration LeanFlux® design tools.
