Setting the stage... Theatre Royal Brighton previewed its summer and autumn seasons with a ‘theatrical garden party’ on 9 June. Guests got a look behind the scenes of the beautiful 200-year-old theatre, with refreshments served on the stage. Phillip Willmott, the director of this year’s Christmas musical, Cinderella, spoke and Hollie Johanson-Smith premiered the song ‘Could This Be?’. Happy birthday BLT! Brighton Little Theatre celebrated its 70th birthday on 5 June – exactly 70 years to the day when a group of young people met to produce and act plays in 1940. The cake was cut by Geoffrey Spencer, a founder member. Running all this week, the theatre’s current production is Romeo And Juliet (Tuesday 22 to Saturday 26 June).
