Baffa y su “fueye” inspiraron este “video poema”

Txt: Silvia Rojas - Photos: Argentine Tango Society - Archivo La Milonga Argentina Gustavo Cilia “Yo toqué con Horacio Salgán, con Aníbal Troilo y con Astor Piazzolla; ¿qué más puedo pedir...?” Este es solo uno de los testimonios del incomparable bandoneonista Ernesto Baffa, reflejado en el documental que le rinde homenaje a su trayectoria: “Ernesto Baffa, Poesía de bandoneón”, el nuevo film realizado por los cineastas Daniel Tonelli y Marcelo Turrisi, producido por The Argentine Tango Society y que cuenta con la coordinación de producción de Silvina Damiani. Se trata de un merecido reconocimiento al talento de este bandoneonista y compositor, quien a lo largo de su trayectoria (el próximo 20 de agosto cumplirá 84 años), ha trabajado con los más grandes del género. Entre ellos: Héctor Stamponi, Alfredo Gobbi, Pedro Láurenz, Osvaldo Pugliese, los ya citados Salgán, Troilo y Piazzolla, y su gran amigo, el maestro Osvaldo Berlingieri, con quien formó un dúo legendario. El documental de Tonelli y Turrisi – que será presentado este mes, en el histórico Marabú, allí mismo donde debutó con la orquesta de Troilo, a los 27 años-, evoca esta pasión por la música desde su primera infancia: Cuando era chico, Baffa caminaba unas cuadras hasta el club “Flores que surgen” del barrio de Floresta, para colarse y poder escuchar a las orquestas que ahí se presentaban. “Si le habré abierto la puerta del taxi a Troilo...”, recuerda. Incansable estudioso de las posibilidades que brinda el bandoneón, arreglador y compositor, además de gran instrumentista,

It is a well-deserved recognition of the talent of this bandoneonist and composer, throughout his long career (he will be 84 this coming August), has worked with the greatest in the genre. Amongst them: Héctor Stamponi, Alfredo Gobbi, Pedro Láurenz, Osvaldo Pugliese, those already mentioned Salgán, Troilo and Piazzolla, and his great friend, the maestro Osvaldo Berlingieri, with whom he formed a legendary duo. The documentary by Tonelli and Turrisi – which will be presented this month at the historic Marabú, the very venue where he made his debut with Troilo and his orchestra, at the age of 27 – evokes this passion for music right from his childhood: When he was a kid, Baffa would walk a few blocks to the club “Flores que surgen” in the Floresta neighborhood, to hang around and be able to listen to the orchestras that played there. “How keen I was to open the taxi door to Troilo...!” he recalls. Baffa rememora con afecto a sus maestros y colegas. “Es un documental que tiene magia, con una evocación del encuentro que tuvo con Troilo, que lo marcó para toda la vida”, afirman los directores sobre su flamante trabajo. “Mantuvimos dos reportajes centrales, uno en su casa y otro en el bar Los Laureles. Para nosotros, es un video-poema por lo que inspira la música de Baffa y su fueye. Una gran poesía. El transmite una emoción que llega a todo el mundo”, enfatizan. Daniel Tonelli es licenciado en Artes (U.B.A.) y cursó estudios en Comunicación Social, Publicidad y Cine; en tanto, Marcelo Turrisi se ha formado como realizador cinematográfico en la Escuela Municipal de Avellaneda, y trabajó como asistente de cámara, cameraman, guionista, director y editor en diversos largometrajes, cortometrajes y realizaciones en video. Juntos, se han especializado en la producción de documentales de arte, de historia y producciones multimedia, y convocados por “The Argentine Tango Society”, a partir de 2012, han realizado los siguientes títulos: Héctor, el de Gricel (2012), Leyendas del Tango Danza (2014), Típico Víctor (2015), Cantores: Alberto Podestá y Juan Carlos Godoy (2015) y Ernesto Baffa, Poesía de bandoneón (2016), además de diversos videos promocionales. “El desafío nuestro es no repetirnos, buscando nuevos formatos, con un estilo propio en cada documental, ya que este es el quinto proyecto que realizamos con las grandes personalidades del tango”, explica Tonelli. Ustedes están dejando un testimonio único de los “monstruos” sagrados que protagonizaron, ya no la Década de Oro del tango, sino el “siglo de Oro”, que es el siglo XX. Tonelli: Sí, sabemos que estamos frente a monstruos sagrados que comenzaron muy jóvenes y que hoy hay que cuidarlos. Su testimonio es algo invalorable de un tiempo que se va con ellos. Turrisi: Nos sentimos muy agradecidos de poder cubrir este mundo y poder dejar algo interesante a las próximas generaciones. También estamos muy agradecidos a la productora porque nos da total libertad y nos deja las riendas para crear y plasmar estos testimonios únicos. Fue un festejo por partida doble, y el mítico Club de Villa Urquiza se colmó de milongueros la noche del pasado sábado 6 de febrero, quienes no quisieron perderse la fiesta del “gran cambio”. La milonga “Malena”, que todos los sábados organizan Liliana y Jorge Rodríguez, juntamente con Norma Ruiz, encargada del bufet, celebró un nuevo aniversario –exactamente, cumplieron tres años desde su inauguración-, a la vez que estrenó su nueva pista de baile: la gran pista de madera del Sunderland. El club, fundado en 1919, tenía hasta el mes pasado su cancha de básquet, papi futbol y pista milonguera con el conocido piso de baldosa gris, pero le llegó el momento de renovación. Ahora, pudo verse la madera plastificada y brillosa. Y la tribuna fue trasladada desde el fondo al costado lateral izquierdo. Casi todas las parejas amigas coincidieron en que les gustó mucho, aunque se entiende que “hay que acostumbrarse”, según comentaron algunos. Yanel y Miguel bailaron folclore y luego, un tango. Luego, llegó el momento de Javier Rodríguez y Moira Castellanos, y finalmente, Gloria y Eduardo Arquimbau, quienes repitieron uno de sus cuadros “clásicos”, “El choclo”. Conversando luego con Javier, Arquimbau recordó que lo había bailado con la orquesta de Francisco Canaro y Florindo Sassone. La musicalización, como siempre, estuvo a cargo de Mario Orlando. Junto a los tradicionales milongueros que cada semana acuden y tienen su mesa reservada, se entremezclaron muchos turistas provenientes de diferentes países de Asia y Europa, deseosos de aprender y hacer propia la tan sugestiva cadencia del tango argentino.

Sebastián Jiménez & Nadia Johnson debutan en “TanGO TO Istambul” Sebastián Jiménez debutará bailando con Nadia Johnson en Turquía. Nada más y nada menos que en el fantástico “TanGO TO Istanbul”, mega festival que organizan Murat Elmadagli y Esref Tekinalp, desde el 1° al 6 del corriente mes, y donde participan otros importantes artistas argentinos como Javier Rodríguez y Moira Castellanos, y Roxana Suárez y Sebastián Achával. Desde hacía tiempo, era un secreto a voces que los campeones mundiales de tango Salón Sebastián Jiménez y María Inés Bogado iban a separarse artísticamente. El vínculo sentimental ya había terminado, pero habían decidido continuar trabajando juntos ya que formaban una pareja exitosa y convocante en los mejores festivales del mundo. Ahora, llegó la separación definitiva. Desde el 2015, Nadia estaba sin compañero de baile, cursando la carrera de psicología en la Facultad y trabajando en El Viejo Almacén. Un día recibió un mensaje de Sebastián, ya que se conocían de las clases y prácticas de sus maestros Carlos y Rosa Pérez. “Me lo había cruzado una vez en un festival de USA, pero mi recuerdo de Seba era todavía el del “nene cachetón” que iba a lo de Carlitos Pérez. Era súper tímido, me hablaba de los compañeritos del colegio, de la maestra particular… ¡Y diez años después estamos bailando juntos! El reencuentro fue muy lindo. Prácticamente, no nos conocemos como adultos. Hoy, él es un hombre casado y vive en Europa, pero venimos del mismo lado, tenemos las mismas raíces del baile, así que en seguida conectamos. Para mí, bailar con Seba es como volver a mis raíces, un volver a casa”. Para Nadia, su primera vez con el tango fue en Club Gricel, cuando apenas tenía 15 años. “Aquel día que pasé por la puerta de Club Gricel me congelé. Me acuerdo que me paré delante de la entrada y miré para arriba, buscando una explicación a toda esa música que salía de ahí adentro. Me parecía gigante... Agarré por el brazo a una amiga que me acompañaba y entramos. Se me hace un nudo en el estómago al recordar el impacto. Se me alteraron todos los sentidos, veía gente abrazada, la luz tenue, casi lúgubre, el olor a cigarrillo, la música, el piso de madera. Veía piernas por todos lados… Ante las miradas amenazantes de los viejitos por la presencia de dos escolares en “SU” milonga, caminé hasta la barra, agarré un folleto con horarios y salí despavorida”. Nadia empezó a tomar clases con Fernanda Japas y Alberto Sendra “con los zapatos puntudos que había usado en mi fiesta de 15”… Después, vinieron las clases con Silvio La Via y luego, las clases y prácticas con Carlitos y Rosa Pérez en Villa Urquiza. “Muchos de los recuerdos más lindos los tengo de ahí, no solamente por el nivel de baile o porque realmente siento que fueron la base y el pilar de mis fundamentos, sino también por la calidez, la humildad, el cariño que se vivía en ese lugar. Nadie iba para mostrarse, o para salir campeón de nada. Se iba por amor al tango, para crecer”. Posteriormente, incursionó en “Mariposita” de San Telmo, “donde había un ballet amateur para tango salón y me metí para hacer un poco de escenario”. Todavía no tenía ni 20 años. Meses después, conoce a Maxi Copello. “Con Maxi bailamos juntos 5 años y en el trayecto me formé más como bailarina, tomé clases de jazz, de clásico, de stretching, y miles de horas de clases y ensayos de tango. No me considero una bailarina, pero tampoco soy milonguera neta. Más bien, busco un balance entre ambas. Viajamos mucho haciendo tango salón y dando clases por USA y Europa, y dirigimos un show en Sur Corea por dos temporadas”. Ahora, el destino la une al querido campeón mundial Sebastián Jiménez, con quien cumplirá una importante gira durante los próximos meses en diferentes países

Sebastián Jiménez will debut dancing with Nadia Johnson in Turkey. No more and no less than in the fantasti “TanGO TO Istanbul”, a mega festival organized by Murat Elmadagli and Esref Tekinalp, running from 1st to 6th of this month, in which other important Argentine performing artists participated, like Javier Rodríguez and Moira Castellanos, and Roxana Suárez and Sebastián Achával. For some time it was a secret whispered in hushed voices that the world champions of Salon Tango, Sebastián Jiménez and María Inés Bogado, were separating professionally. The personal relationship had already ended, but they had decided to continue working together since they made a successful dancing couple that drew the crowds at the best festivals in the world. Now, the definitive separation has come. Since 2015, Nadia had been without a dancing partner, studying psychology at the Faculty and working at El Viejo Almacén. One day she received a message from Sebastián, who she knew from lessons and practice sessions with their teachers Carlos and Rosa Pérez. “He had crossed my path once at a festival in USA, but my memory of Seba was still of the “chubby cheeked kid” who went to Carlitos Pérez. He was really shy, talked to me about his schoolmates, the private teacher… And ten years later we’re dancing together! Meeting up again was really nice. In practical terms, we didn’t know each other as adults. Today, he’s a married man and lives in Europe, but we come from the same side, we have the same roots in the dance, so we made a connection straight away. For me, dancing with Seba is like returning to my roots, coming home.” For Nadia, her first time with tango was at Club Gricel, when she was barely 15. “That day when I went through the door of Club Gricel I froze. I recall I stopped in front of the entrance and looked up, looking for an explanation for all that music coming from inside. It seemed gigantic to me... I grabbed the arm of a friend who was accompanying me and we went in. I get a knot in the pit of my stomach as I recall the impact it made. All y senses were altered, I saw people embracing, the faint light, almost gloomy, the smell of cigarettes, the music, the wooden floor. I saw legs everywhere… In the face of the threatening looks from the oldies at the presence of two school kids in “THEIR” milonga, I walked to the bar, grabbed a leaflet with opening hours and went out terrified.” Nadia started having lessonds with Fernanda Japas and Alberto Sendra “the the pointed toed shoes I had worn at my 15th birthday…” Later came lessons with Silvio La Via and then the lessons and practice sessions with Carlitos and Rosa Pérez in Villa Urquiza. “Many of my nicest tango memories are from there, not only for the level of dancing or because I really feel they were the base and pillar of my foundations, but also for the warmth, the humility, the affection that was experienced in that place. Nobody went to show off, or to come out champion of anything. They went there for love of tango, to grow.” Subsequently, she started going to “Mariposita” of San Telmo, “there was an amateur dance troupe for salon tango and I had a go so as to do a bit of stage.” She was not 20 yet. Months later she met Maxi Copello. “I danced with Maxi for 5 years and along the way I developed more as a dancer, I had lessons in jazz and classical ballet, stretching, and thousands of hours of lessons and rehearsals with tango. I don’t regard myself as a dancer, but neither am I purely a milonguera. It’s more that I seek a balance between the two. We traveled a lot doing salon tango and giving lessons around USA and Europe, and we directed a show in South Korea for two seasons”.

“Argentina Tango Salon Festival”, fu Fue el gran evento del verano. La noche de inauguración del “Argentina Tango Salón Festival”, el pasado 14 de enero, convocó a más que quinientos fanáticos milongueros que colmaron el tradicional salón del Centro Región Leonesa. Mucha adrenalina, como pocas veces se ha visto, hubo en el marco del evento que organizaron Roberto Zuccarino y Magdalena Valdez, por tercer año consecutivo. No era para menos: en La Milonga de Los Zucca todos esperaban ver a los grandes maestros del festival y al proveniente de la tierra de los Zares rusos, Sebastián Arce y su compañera de baile, Mariana Montes, ella radicada en Italia, junto a su marido y su hija. Además, se hizo presente un invitado de lujo: Miguel Ángel Zotto junto con su mujer, Daiana Gúspero, casualmente de visita en el país, ya que desde hace cuatro años viven en Milán. It was the great event of summer. The opening night of the “Argentina Tango Salón Festival” on 14th January last, drew over five hundred milonga fanatics who packed the traditional hall of the Centro Región Leonesa. There was lots of adrenalin, as rarely seen, at the event organized by Roberto Zuccarino and Magdalena Valdez, for the third year running. It was no mean feat: at La Milonga de Los Zucca everyone waited to see the great maestros of the festival and the resident from the land of the Tsars, Sebastián Arce, and his dancing partner, Mariana Montes, who lives in Italy along with her husband and their daughter. Moreover, there was a deluxe guest: Miguel Ángel Zotto along with his partner, Daiana Gúspero, coincidentally visiting the country, as they have been living for four years in Milan. After their much-applauded exhibition, Arce and Mariana danced with all the maestros of the festival: Roxana Suárez and Sebastián Achával, Daniel Nacucchio and his splendid wife Cristina Valeria Sosa de Nacucchio, Sebastián Jiménez and María Inés Bogado, Sebastián Missé and Andrea Reyero, “Los Totis” Virginia Gómez and Christian Márquez, Virginia Pandolfi (with Jonathan Agüero) and Silvio La Vía

Finalmente, el lunes 18 llegó la noche de cierre del festival, en la Región Leonesa, con la actuación de Ariel Ardit y su Orquesta Típica, dirigida por Andrés Linetzky, con la exhibición de Sebastián Missé y Andrea Reyero, quienes eligieron los tangos “Cascabelito”, “No mientas” y el vals “Pasión”. El festival se consolidó por su nivel de convocatoria, con nivel y calidad. Sus mentores, Roberto y “Magui” Zuccarino, luego de unas merecidas vacaciones, realizaron un casting para integrar a nuevas parejas en la edición de 2017, y en las próximas semanas comenzarán una gira de trabajo por importantes ciudades de Europa y Asia. Finally, On Monday 18th the closing night of the festival arrived, at the Centro Región Leonesa, with live performance by Ariel Ardit and his Orquesta Típica, directed by Andrés Linetzky, with an exhibition by Sebastián Missé and Andrea Reyero, who chose the tangos “Cascabelito”, “No mientas” and the vals “Pasión”. The festival was consolidated by its level of attendance, with quality and ability level. Its mentors, Roberto and “Magui” Zuccarino, after some well-deserved vacations, held auditions for new couples to join the 2017 edition, and in these coming weeks they will start a working tour of important cities of Europe and Asia. Norma Raimondi, directora de Don Tango Club, una auténtica difusora del 2x4 en Alemania “Transmitir la cultura del Tango en culturas foráneas no es un asunto simple. Aún cuando se trate de transmitir uno sólo de los aspectos del tango como es el baile”, comienza diciendo la bailarina, docente y gestora cultural Norma Raimondi, quien, desde 1990, vive en Alemania y dedica su vida a difundir el tango. Por supuesto, que nunca se desvinculó de la Argentina sino todo lo contrario. Desde hace años se propuso enseñar y difundir el tango, logrando un intercambio cultural entre Alemania y Argentina con loable continuidad y vigencia. “El baile no se puede separar de la música, porque cada paso, cada movimiento tiene su origen en ella. Y, como toda danza popular, el tango está vinculado a la idiosincrasia de sus cultores, a la característica geográfica en la que se gestó y al entorno social que la contiene”, subraya esta emprendedora de la cultura rioplatense, que ha concretado importantes proyectos en lo que ella y su familia han dado en llamar Escuela “Don Tango Club Köln”. A 12.000 kilómetros de distancia de Buenos Aires, en el corazón de la bella ciudad alemana llamada Köln (Colonia), esta familia argentina trabaja incansablemente por explicar a los enamorados del baile de tango que la esencia de su danza no se reduce a un puñado de pasos, mucho menos a una experiencia desprendida de lo afectivo, o de naturaleza deportista. Norma Raimondi y sus hijos Ayelén y Ezequiel Quiroga reciben constantemente en su escuela “Don Tango Club Köln” la visita de maestros y músicos argentinos de renombre internacional y, dos veces por año, organizan en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, seminarios, cuyo programa prevé no sólo los más minuciosos aspectos del baile, sino que insertan a los participantes del seminario en la escena del tango porteño, sintiendo el pulso de la ciudad, el ritmo cotidiano de sus habitantes y el marco histórico- social que ha entornado a esta danza durante más de un siglo.

“Transmitting the Tango culture in foreign cultures is no easy matter. Even when it’s about transmitting just one of the aspects of tango as is the dance,” so begins Norma Raimondi, a dancer, teacher and cultural manager, who, has lived in Germany since 1990 and dedicates her life to making tango better known. En "Nuevo Chiqué", que organiza Marcela Pazos, estuvieron su querido amigo Luis, su amiga Tilma y, como siempre, el eficaz dj Dany Borelli.

Gabriela Laddaga, organizadora de su milonga "Matiné de los Lunes" en Plaza Bohemia, recibió a Hugo, Claudia, Marilyn Machado, Clelia, Horacio, Mirta, Gastón y Mary. Y en "Saraza", de los días martes, hizo lo propio con Tití Charniello, Viviana, Sergio Fernández y muchos más.

Internacionales: "Amores Tangos" tuvo la oportunidad de compartir comida con Mick Jagger, en tanto Anabela Brogioli posó y fue felicitada por Ron Wood. Por su parte, Roberto Herrera y Laura Legascue bailaron a beneficio de la Fundación de"Pupi" Zanetti, que dirige en Italia.

“Manzi está en el ADN de los argentinos” “Manzi is in the DNA of Argentine people” Asombra, cuando nos dice que es la primera vez que canta profesionalmente en el escenario. Protagonizando “Manzi, la vida en orsai”, que va por su tercera temporada (se estrenó por primera vez en 2013, en el teatro De la Comedia, siguió en 2014 y ahora se presenta en el Tabarís), Jorge Suárez (52), ha ganado muchos y merecidos premios, como el ACE y el Florencio Sánchez, por citar solo dos. Se entrega en cuerpo, voz y alma. Con tan logrado efecto que la personalidad del gran poeta tanguero, guionista, director de cine y dirigente político queda dimensionada en forma elevada. ¿Cuánto hay de Jorge Suárez en la composición del personaje de Manzi?... Se lo preguntamos, charla café de por medio, momentos antes de que entre a la sala, pruebe el sonido y se cambie para la función: “Absolutamente todo. No sé cómo hablaba Manzi, ni cómo caminaba, ni cómo podía besar a una mujer. Yo creo el Manzi interior a partir de los testimonios, de la dirección, de los autores y me siento muy responsable de lo que pasa en el escenario”. Y agrega: “Cuando Manzi se enteró que estaba enfermo le preguntó a su gran amigo Troilo si había podido llegar a la gente… Y yo, dejo todo lo que tengo para que eso suceda. No tengo pudor en decirlo. Entro al escenario y me expongo brutal y delicadamente para llegar al corazón de la gente”. Sin dudas, lo logra. El público, al final, lo ovaciona de pié. En este recorrido por la vida, los amores y las luchas de Manzi, se destacan Julia Calvo, en el papel de Nelly – en clara alusión a la gran Nelly Omar-, y Néstor Caniglia, quien personifica a Cátullo Castillo, el dirigente radical Santoro y el querido Aníbal Troilo, alternadamente. El libro original es de Betty Gambartes, Diego Vila y Bernardo Carey; los arreglos y dirección musical son de Diego Vila; y la idea y dirección general de Nelly Gambartes. Además de la acertadas actuaciones, se puede disfrutar de la música de los más aclamados tangos de Manzi, entre ellos: Barrio de tango, Tal vez será su voz, Manoblanca, Viejo ciego, Romance de barrio, Fruta amarga, Milonga del 900, Después, Malena, Fuimos, De barro, Che bandoneón, Betinoti, Parece mentira, Fueye, Sur, y en especial, dos dúos bellísimos que interpretan Jorge y Julia con armoniosa sincronización: Gota de lluvia y Tu pálida voz, y Ninguna y Cuando tú no estás. Sin embargo, “Manzi” es obra “para todos”, no solo para los tangueros:

I’m not shy to say it. I go out onstage and I show myself brutally and delicately to reach the heart of the people” He undoubtedly succeeds. At the end the public gives him a standing ovation. In this journey through the life, loves and struggles of Manzi, Julia Calvo is outstanding as Nelly – in a clear allusion to the great Nelly Omar – and Néstor Caniglia, who plays Cátullo Castillo, the radio director Santoro and the beloved Aníbal Troilo, in turn. The original script and score are by Betty Gambartes, Diego Vila and Bernardo Carey; arrangements and musical direction are by Diego Vila; and the idea and general directing by Nelly Gambartes. As well as the accurate performances, it is possible to enjoy the music of the Manzi’s most acclaimed tangos, among them: Barrio de tango, Tal vez será su voz, Manoblanca, Viejo ciego, Romance de barrio, Fruta amarga, Milonga del 900, Después, Malena, Fuimos, De barro, Che bandoneón, Betinoti, Parece mentira, Fueye, Sur, and especially, two truly beautiful duets performed by Jorge and Julia with harmonious synchronization: Gota de lluvia and Tu pálida voz, and also Ninguna and Cuando tú no estás. Nevertheless, “Manzi” is a work “for everyone”, not only tangueros:

“Manzi es así. Su obra lo excede de manera tal que está dentro de nuestros genes. Hay algo de su obra que es de todos, que tiene que ver con nuestra identidad. Era una persona muy delicada, muy apasionada, un romántico, un hombre muy atractivo para las mujeres de la época. El escribió solo lo que había vivido y sentido”.

“That’s how Manzi is. His work surpasses him in such a way that it is within our genes. There is something in his work that is everyone’s, that has to do with our identity. He was a very delicate person, very passionate, a romantic, a very attractive man to the women of the era. He wrote only what he had experienced and felt.”

Un productor me dijo una vez: “El tango no vende”. Te diría que casi me resulta vergonzoso que digan que el tango no vende. Porque es impresionante, es conmovedor lo que pasa con “Manzi” y el público. Es como desmerecer a una parte de la población que ama el tango, que es la gran mayoría. El tango está inserto en el ADN de los argentinos, tiene que ver con el ser.

A producer once told me: “Tango doesn’t sell” I’d say that it seems almost shameful for them to say tango doesn’t sell. Because it’s impressive, what happens with “Manzi” and the public is very moving. It’s like devaluing one part of the population that loves tango, which is the great majority. Tango is inserted into the DNA of Argentine people, it has to do with who we are.

¿Falta difusión? ¿O darnos cuenta, tomar conciencia del valor que tiene? Si, falta difusión. El tango es algo inevitable. ¿Cómo puede ser que Manzi no sea de conocimiento obligatorio en las escuelas? ¡Que se tenga conciencia de lo que son el tango y el folclore!

Does it lack publicity? Or for us to realize, to be aware of the value it has? Yes, it lacks publicity. Tango is something inevitable. How can it be that knowledge of Manzi isn’t obligatory in schools? People should be aware of what tango and folk song and dance are!

Hay escenas muy emotivas. ¿Hay alguna especial para vos? Me emociona mucho el vínculo apasionado con Nelly. Homero era muy bueno, pero sin querer hacerle daño a Nelly nunca pudo separarse de su familia. Nelly Omar no vino a ver la obra, pero sí les preguntaba a sus amigos cómo estaba su personaje y le gustaba que nos fuera bien.

There are very emotional scenes. Is there any one that is special for you? I’m very moved by the passionate relationship with Nelly. Homero was very good, but not wanting to hurt Nelly he could never separate himself from his family. TANGO CORRUPTO On 3rd March at the Teatro Tabarís (Corrientes 831) this prize-winning show reopened, reclaiming popular songs that have never been regarded as poetically “profound”. El verano tuvo su “Misterio” El Misterio Tango Festival realizó una nueva edición el último mes de febrero con la participación de importantes maestros y la exhibición de grandes parejas de bailarines. La noche de inauguración del gran evento organizado por Gastón Torelli y Gustavo Rember tuvo su sede en La Viruta, en el barrio de Palermo, el 3 de febrero. En primer lugar, abrió el show el cantautor y guitarrista Frederik Konradsen, y a continuación bailaron Gisela Paula Natoli y Gustavo Rosas. A continuación, se presentó la Orquesta Típica Misteriosa Buenos Aires-Orquesta Típica con la voz de Eliana Sosa, ofreciendo un repertorio tradicional con tangos como “Invierno” y “Quien tiene tu amor”, combinándolos con algunas innovaciones, como por ejemplo una adaptación tanguera del “Tema de Pototo”. Luego, se presentaron Julio Balmaceda y su actual compañera Virginia Vasconi, a quienes les siguieron Jimena Hoeffner y Fernando Carrasco, quienes interpretaron un popurrí de diferentes temas muy bien mezclados. Por último, bailaron Javier Rodríguez y Moira Castellanos. Cada noche y hasta el domingo, jornada en que se llevó a cabo la milonga de cierre, el Misterio Tango Festival organizó jornadas a pleno de música y danza entre clases y milongas, donde participaron Olga Bessio, Noelia Coletti y Pablo Giorgini, Mariana Dragone, Analía Vega y Marcelo Vega, Carolina del Rivero y Donato Juárez, y el Clan Copello – Carlos, y sus hijos Maximiliano y Miriam Copello, y Cristian Correa, y Gisela Passi y Rodrigo Rufino, entre otros artistas. Cabe mencionar que uno de los momentos más emotivos de esta 8° edición del “Misterio” fue cuando se les rindió un homenaje a los queridos Osvaldo Cartery y José Vázquez,

A new edition of Misterio Tango Festival was held last February with the important maestros taking part and with exhibitions by great dancing couples. The opening night of the grand event organized by Gastón Torelli and Gustavo Rember was held at La Viruta, in the Palermo neighborhood, on 3rd February. First off, the singer-songwriter and guitarist Frederik Konradsen opened the show, and then Gisela Paula Natoli and Gustavo Rosas danced. Following on, the Misteriosa Buenos Aires - Orquesta Típica played, with the voice of Eliana Sosa, offering a traditional repertoire with tangos like “Invierno” and “Quien tiene tu amor”, combining them with some innovations, like for example, a tango adaptation of the Pototo theme by the Argentine rock band Almendra. Felicitaciones por este nuevo “Misterio” que cada año convoca al encuentro, el aprendizaje y el goce del tango, el arte de nuestra Ciudad porteña que está siempre en constante evolución.

“Mi vida es un tango porque tiene más profundidad que el rock” Con numerosos medios periodísticos que colmaron la sala, Cacho Castaña presentó su libro autobiográfico “Vida de artista”, en el Maipo Kabaret, donde con su peculiar estilo de contar sus verdades habló de su niñez, sus amores, las drogas, su enfermedad que el año pasado lo tuvo dos meses en coma al borde de la muerte y sus sueños para el futuro. “Creo en los milagros. Ahora, creo en los milagros”, dijo categórico y sus ojos se llenaron de lágrimas cuando desde la platea su doctor, Alfredo Cahe, reconoció que un caso como el de Cacho nunca había visto en toda su carrera de médico. “Pensé que lo perdíamos… Se despertaba, abría los ojos y luchaba con todas sus fuerzas”, reconoció el facultativo. La presentación estuvo moderada por Oscar González Oro y sobre el final, el empresario de sala, Lino Patalano, le propuso públicamente hacer un espectáculo que se llame “Cacho Castaña te habla...”, a lo que Cacho le respondió: “Te tomo el guante”. El libro va muy bien en ventas y el artista prometió que lanzará la segunda parte más adelante...

“Mi vida es un tango porque tiene más profundidad que el rock y es como una Biblia. En la vida, ‘el tango siempre te espera’”, dijo parafraseando a Aníbal Troilo. Recordó también al “Polaco” Roberto Goyeneche, Rubén Juárez, y a su admirado Mariano Mores: “Una vez me quiso dar unas composiciones para que yo le ponga letra, pero como le di un ‘pico’ a Mariana (su nieta), se enojó conmigo”. Cacho Castaña aseguró ayer que no volvería a consumir cocaína porque “la falopa te vuelve un hombre oscuro”, al presentar en el Teatro Maipo de Buenos Aires su autobiografía, titulada “Vida de artista”. Sin dejar de lado las bromas, aseguró que “un hombre caliente es capaz de hacer cualquier cosa”, al recordar cuando tuvo que escapar de Carlos Monzón por acostarse con la que entonces era pareja del boxeador, o la cachetada que recibió de su ex pareja Mónica Gonzaga cuando ella se enteró de que la engañaba con su secretaria, “que estaba buenísima”, agregó. “La monogamia es una mentira. Con todo lo que hay para elegir en la vidriera, uno no puede quedarse con una sola”, soltó en otra parte de la presentación, pese a lo cual sostuvo que junto a su actual pareja, Marina Rosenthal, de 39 años, están buscando la adopción de un hijo.

With numerous press and media packing the hall, Cacho Castaña presented his autobiographical book, “Vida de artista”, at the Maipo Kabaret, where with his peculiar style of telling his truths he spoke of his childhood, his loves, drugs, his illness which had him on the brink of death for two months last year, and his dreams for the future. “I believe in miracles. I now believe in miracles,” he stated categorically and his eyes filled with tears when, from the audience, his doctor, Alfredo Cahe, recognized that he had never seen a case like that of Cacho in all his medical career. “I thought we had lost him… He woke up, opened his eyes and fought with all his strength,” admitted the physician. The presentation was chaired by Oscar González Oro and at the end, the impresario of the hall, Lino Patalano, proposed to him publicly to do a show called “Cacho Castaña speaks to you...”, to which Cacho responded: “I take up the gauntlet from you”. The book sales are very good ad the performing artist promised he will launch the second part later on... “My life is a tango because tango has more depth than rock and is like the Bible. In life, ‘tango is always waiting for you’,” he said, parahrasing Aníbal Troilo. He also recalled “El Polaco” Roberto Goyeneche, Rubén Juárez, and his much-admired Mariano Mores: “He once wanted to give me a couple of compositions for me to set words to, but as I gave Mariana (his granddaughter) a ‘peck’, he got angry with me.” Cacho Castaña insisted yesterday that he would not go back to taking cocaine because “hard drugs turn you into a dark man,” while presenting his autobiography titled “Vida de artista” at Teatro Maipo in Buenos Aires. Without leaving his joking aside, he insisted that “a man hot with desire is capable of doing anything,” as he recalled how he had to escape from Carlos Monzón for going to bed with the then partner of the boxer, or the punch in the face he received from his own ex-partner Mónica Gonzaga when she found out he was cheating on her with his secretary, “who was fantastic”, he added. “Monogamy is a lie. With all there is to choose from in the shop window, one can’t remain with just one,” he let out in another part of the presentation, despite which he maintained that along he and his current partner, Marina Rosenthal, aged 39, are seeking to adopt a child.
