We have spent many an hour enjoying ourselves at this delightful beach side venue in Marbesa. We welcome The London & Co and The Cave in Jardin Botanico La Cala. Fantastic new top of the range separate his and hers salons. It was lovely to see little lads accompanying their fathers when having a haircut and of course dad able to have a pampering session as the same time in the Cave while mum and the girls can be looked after like royalty upstairs too. KEY BEAUTY Diamond Tip Microdermabrasion Microdermabrasion is a very effective skin treatment that creates a fresh, glowing and rejuvenated look. What can you expect? • Promotes a healthy and more youthful complexion • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles • Rejuvenates the skin for a glowing complexion • Decreases or eliminates mild to moderate acne scarring • Helps decrease hyper-pigmentation or brown spots • Eliminates sun damage and dry skin How does it work? Microdermabrasion is non-invasive and the procedure only removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells to reveal the fresher, younger cell beneath. Regardless of your skin’s condition, the fine lines and age spots may be erased and acne scars and stretch marks will become less obvious. It is like a superficial skin polishing.... a safe and pain free method of rejuvenating the skin. It is also gentle enough to suit almost any skin type. A common skin complaint for which microdermabrasion is most effective is acne scarring. Acne scars form in the dermis which lies directly below the surface layer, the epidermis. This area cushions the skin and, in acne sufferers, becomes inflamed as the body works overtime to repair the wound created from bursting or removing blackheads, pimples and scaly skin. When the body works so hard to heal itself, an excess build up of collagen can occur. This collagen can stay in place creating a pit in the skin which can be removed or decreased thanks to microdermabrasion technology. Our diamond tip microdermabrasion treatments are performed with state of the art equipment by a fully qualified therapist and include the following... • Full facial cleansing • Full skin analysis • Complete microdermabrasion treatment • Full facial massage • Vitamin supplement • Soothing and hydrating masque The cost of a 75-minute treatment is 50.00€ or 140.00€ for 3 sessions. Also available in our beauty rooms are facials from Guinot

and Mary Cohr, waxing, massage, pedicures, manicures and a full list of nail treatments including acrylic and Shellac/ Halo non-chip finishes, not forgetting our Lash department for all types of lash extensions, LVL and brow enhancing techniques including micro pigmentation for that semi permanent solution. KEY FEATURE Costa Women Release New Book Costa Women have just released a new book about living in Spain. Using the title ‘Spain & Me’, the book is second in a series of free ebooks sharing stories and advice from members of costawomen.com who have followed their dream and moved to Spain. It is has been compiled and edited by Ali Meehan, founder of Costa Women, with chapters written by Costa Women members. Speaking about her reasons for creating the book, Ali said “Possibly the most asked and answered question between foreigners is ‘what is life really like if you live in Spain?’ And because changing countries is no small matter, the answers are often the most amazing and well rehearsed, many worthy of a book, or film alone. Having read over 7,000 of these answers on the Costa Women profiles and met so many in person, I re-

KEY HEALTH A Great Way to Protect Bones and Circulation What K2 can do for you? Despite our best intentions, even a balanced diet doesn’t always give us everything we need. There are some nutrients we just don’t get enough of, especially vitamin K2, which is uncommon in western diets. Vitamin K2 supplements are growing in demand mainly because of the nutrient’s incredibly protective benefits for bone health and circulation. The main dietary K2 source is natto, a traditional Japanese dish of fermented soy beans rarely eaten outside of Japan (and even in Japan, is considered an acquired taste). Low vitamin K levels can also result from poor diet, alcoholism, malabsorption disorders, ageing, and certain medicines. Interestingly, statin medications (a common prescription for cholesterol control) have been shown in studies to deplete K2 levels in the body. Why is K2 good for circulation and the heart? Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the biggest cause of death in the world with heart attacks and strokes representing 29% of all global deaths. Interestingly, vitamin K has been shown in studies to assist in the maintenance of heart health if taken daily. Vitamin K2 acts as a co-factor for activation of Matrix Gla Protein (MGP) which is located in the cartilage and smooth muscle cells of the vascular system. When activated, MGP can inhibit soft tissue calcification which could otherwise build up leading to elevated cardiovascular disease risk. In a 2004 study with 4807 people, those with adequate vitamin K intakes experienced reduction in: • CVD and death from CVD • Severe calcification of the blood vessels • All cause mortality The lead researcher discussed that this effect may be due to reduction in arterial calcification, and suggests that elevated intakes of vitamin K2 may contribute to heart disease prevention. Why is K2 good for bones? The skeleton is fully replaced approximately every seven years, thanks to specialist bone cells. Older bone is broken down by osteoclast cells while new bone is built via osteoblast cells. When osteoclast activity is in excess, it contributes to bones becoming porous and fragile, leading to osteoporosis (and in turn, increased risk of fractures). Osteoporosis affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men with the likelihood of it occurring increasing after 30 years of age (as bone mass naturally decreases around this point). This bone mass loss is accelerated for post-menopausal women, due to oestrogen having a ‘calcium sparing’ effect. Having adequate vitamin K2 can assist however, via the activation of the protein osteocalcin. K2 activates osteocalcin, enabling calcium to be incorporated into the bone matrix, building new bone and contributing to bone density. Osteoclast cells activity is also inhibited, further slowing bone breakdown.

By Pharma Nord

Which form is best to take? K2 is available in many forms with menaquinone-7 (MK7) being the most popular in supplements, demonstrating more favourable characteristics in trials. MK-7 is biologically active in the body for longer than other forms of vitamin K (including K1 and K2 MK4). The result is stronger circulatory and bone protective benefits as well as being easier to absorb. This organic process produces K2 MK-7 which is free of common allergens, great news for those adverse to soy present in the fermented varieties. As a lipid soluble vitamin, K2 is best absorbed from the gut in the presence of fats, most dependably in an oil capsule format. K2 MK-7 supplements produced via a patented organic process demonstrate 100% biological activity in the body, while more common fermented ‘natto’ products tend to be approximately 50% biologically active. K-Pearls – a real jewel K-Pearls from Pharma Nord each contain 75mcg of Vitamin K2 MK-7 in a small, easy to swallow capsule that is oil-based to boost absorption. Each one is also made to pharmaceutical standards – a great assurance of quality.

KEY HEALTH 5 Star ***** Facials

By Anne Stark

My philosophy in life is always to do my best. In my work it is important; clients reward this by returning time and time again. They also tell their friends, and that’s how it goes. I have been very lucky to have a very loyal clientele who appreciate my ongoing training and my desire to better myself. My no-nonsense treatments from head to toe have proven to be the most popular as this brings in the most repeat business. My 5 star facials are well received by my clients of all ages, young and old alike. As I always say, the skin is the same but the methods used change with machinery in synergy with professional products making the perfect facial. Every facial is personalised for the client’s individual needs. Satisfied clients who leave my salon with a smiling face is the proof of a job well done. I never push my products whilst you are relaxing and receiving your treatment. Utsukusy Medical Japanese Formulation products which are manufactured in Barcelona have been so well received that they are now the product line I use for my facials and also for home use. For senior citizens I do a toe nail tidy if for whatever reason you are not able to cut your toe nails yourself. I am so happy my Finnish Therapeutic Classical Massage is liked by so many. If you have any problems or would just like a massage for general wellbeing, you might like to book a block of 3 treatments to get your 20% discount!

KEY HEALTH GLC 2000 As promised earlier on in the summer, we started to take the GLC 2000 tablets for our various aches and pains. We found that some relief was experienced, not immediately like when you take prescription or non-prescription pain relief, but after a couple of weeks it was evident and we both agreed that we were in less pain and felt a bit more flexible. Please bear in mind that, if like us, you suffer pain on a daily basis, it’s not a miracle medication but it definitely works.

There are many thousands of people that use this medication on a daily basis and it is definitely worth researching more of what they say online. We believe however that taking GLC 2000 on a regular basis is certainly more preferable than taking NSAIDs or opiate based medication with the consequent side effects. Neither of us has experienced any side effects using GLC 2000 and would definitely recommend that they are worth a try.

KEY HOLISTIC Peter Hess®-Sound Massage as a Complementary Method for Better Health and Inner Harmony For almost 10 years now as certified Peter Hess®-Sound Relaxation Coach, Christine Heckel successfully integrates our Peter Hess®-Sound Methods in her stress management and stress prevention work with her clients. She includes the deep relaxing sound vibrations of high quality singing bowls and gongs, in group activities or in a 1-2-1 sessions – always with the goal of deep relaxation for the mind and body. According to the WHO, depression and burnout will be 50% of all illnesses by the year 2050. Research for example in Germany shows that already 15% of today’s sick leaves are due to emotional distress - depression and burnout are part of it. The sick leave duration was double the length compared to a Musculo-skeletal disease. This fact causes considerable economic damage. It is not surprising therefore that the strengthening of health - both physically and mentally - in general is becoming increasingly important and leads to a paradigm shift. The focus is shifting more and more to health-sustaining and health promoting factors. The “burnout” is often the result of permanent distress, which in turn can lead to headache, stomach or back pain, tinnitus, hearing loss, dizziness, nervousness, irritability and frustration as well

as cardiac arrhythmia, chronic sleep disorders or memory problems. A healthy lifestyle, a work-life-balance and fulfilling social relationships are key means to prevent a burnout syndrome. The term “sound methods” refers to sound massage as well as all specific applications of singing bowls and gongs based on it. These include imagery journeys, guided meditation, and socalled “sound baths” and sound exercises for self-application. More and more companies on the Costa del Sol invest in their staff and offer special health support programmes to their employees. Christine’s sound methods with a holistic solution and resource-oriented approach can provide valuable services. She is an official reseller of Peter Hess® high quality singing bowls and teaches people how to use these for health, support and wellbeing. Christine offers in-house training too! KEY SPORTS Getting the Job Done

By Steve Billingham

How will England do? Will Kane score the goals? Will the 45 year old and 5 month Egypt keeper get a game and become the World Cups oldest player? All questions asked on the eve of the tournament. England opened their account with Tunisia, a Stones’ header was well clawed away but Harry Kane put in the rebound to give England the lead after 10 minutes. After 32 minutes Walker tugged at a Tunisian shirt and Sassi converted the penalty. A Tunisian fan punched his fist out of hope more than anything else. On 90 minutes Maguire flicked on a corner and Kane headed number 2. A convincing win for England in their second group match, a record England win at the World Cup finals. 3 goals for Harry Kane, 2 from the penalty spot after the 2 hapless centre-backs had bundled him to the ground. John Stones also scored from 2 headers and in between, there was a curler from 22 yards from Jesse Lingard. Panama were poor, non-league standard and were all maul and late in challenge. They scored a consolation goal through Felipe Baloy. 45 year old and 5 month 161 days El Hadary played the final group match in goal for Egypt v Saudi Arabia becoming the World Cups oldest competitor and marvellously tipped Fayad Al Muwallad’s penalty onto the bar. El Hadary, nicknamed the High Dam after the popular Egyptian water-blocking barrier, used to run 7km from his home to training alongside his best friend who would keep him company on a bike. England’s final group match was against Belgium and number 18 Jamerji scored with a curling left foot shot to give Belgium the lead and they held on for the 1-0 win. England faced Columbia in the second round and after 39 minutes Henderson was butted in the free-kick wall. On 54 minutes, Kane was held in the penalty box, not for the first time and after 3 minutes of arguing Kane scored the penalty for his 6th goal of the tournament. The match got more physical, After Pickford’s finger tipped a fierce Columbian drive onto the post, Mina headed in from the corner. After extratime, the match was still 1-1 so it was decided by penalties. Here We Go Again Kane scored but when Henderson’s was tipped around the post by David Ospina I thought ‘Here We Go Again.’ However, Uribe’s penalty hit the crossbar and rebounded and when Pickford saved from Arturo the momentum swung. Rashford

16

KEY TO MIJAS COSTA

and Trippier scored and it was left to Eric Dier to score the winning penalty. England scraped through 4-3 on penalties but it really should have been done and dusted in the 90 minutes. In the quarter final, Sweden’s supposedly best player Forsberg went off after 65 minutes, disappointing. A Swedish defender had conceded a corner in the 30th minute when he might have left it and Maguire headed the resulting corner powerfully in to give England the lead. A delicate chip by Lingard to the back post and Dele Alli headed in at the back post like a Brazilian in ’82 to double the lead. Also, a top display of goalkeeping by Jordan Pickford making several fine saves. So to England’s encounter with Croatia. After 5 minutes Modric fouled and Trippier curled in a 20 yard free-kick to give England the lead. A free-kick so sublime it gave me goosebumps and made the hairs on my arms stand on end. Perusic volleyed in an equaliser off a looping cross on 68 minutes. 3 minutes later Perusic hit a left-footed shot against the post and the match went into extra-time. With 10 minutes remaining, Mansukic found space behind Stones (who didn’t offer a challenge) and hit left footed. Croatia 2 England 1.The second goal that England needed to kill it off never arrived. To Sum Up Croatia was an average team but they seemed to game up in the second half and look the hungrier. England, though, should have been 2 up at half-time – Would Croatia have come back from a Kane 7th goal? Too Nice With Croatia ‘We were too nice with Croatia,’ remarked an observer, and didn’t get stuck in. They did on us enough! England were spirited and entertaining and well managed by Gareth Southgate but fell just short. They weren’t worth the ink in the last World Cup but certainly were here. Belgium won the third place match 2-0 with goals by Munier and Hazard. The matches were well attended, the pitches and grounds looked healthy and the matches were played in reasonably good spirit in contrast to the Euros of 2016. ‘Coutinho for me has stood out for me as a quality act’, said Physical Education student George Barrows, ‘also Lokaku of Belgium plus of course the goals of Kane. France’s Mbappe has pace and skill and scored 4 goals but has playacted too unfortunately. The buzz of Trippier’s free-kick in and Delle Ali in at the back post like a Brazilian in ’82 were personal favourite memories of mine.

KEY PETS What is Compassionate Grooming? Quite a few people ask me what compassionate grooming is. In this issue I will explain what compassionate grooming means and why after 26 years in the trade I feel able to push forward and try to spread the word that your dog’s grooming experience is important and can greatly affect their emotional health not just during the grooming but long term, causing emotional and behavioural problems in the family home. For example, just one bad experience having a toenail trim can lead to the dog disliking their paws being touched or held, with aggression in this area. When the toenails are trimmed, every care should be taken to ensure the quick isn’t cut. Many people do not know that apart from the bleeding, the nail will be painful and tender for days, much like if we break our own nails past the skin, we all know just how sore and tender your finger can be afterwards. It’s the same for dogs - times that by 2 or 3 or all the toenails and you will have a dog that will be very fearful next time they come to have their toenails trimmed. With dogs that already suffer with toenail phobia, it can be overcome in only a small % of dogs - in my experience only 30% but believe me, it’s worth trying. Another example is bathing/showering your dog. In my experience, dogs do not like being bathed in cold water and while at the groomers, warm water should always be used, changing the temperature from room temperature to warm, depending on the weather. For dogs suffering with aches and pains due to arthritis or old age, very warm water helps to soothe them much the same as it would us. Here I will try to explain the concept of compassionate grooming: Compassionate grooming is being compassionate to all areas of the grooming experience for the dog. Being compassionate towards anything that may cause discomfort to the dog like pulling at knots or plucking the hair from the ears, cleaning infected ears or dealing with sore skin or dogs that suffer with arthritis and doing your utmost to be gentle and to express your compassion for causing the discomfort. Doing anything you can to reduce any discomfort. Compassionate to the dog’s feelings and how they view what you are doing. Compassionate in how you handle a dog and in trying to bond with the dog through lots of kind words, cuddles and kisses - compassionate with your time in ensuring that the dog has

20

KEY TO MIJAS COSTA

By Joanna Fluer Oxley

moments in between sections of grooming to express themselves, for example allowing a dog to shake during and after a bath or simply giving them a small break. Be compassionate towards their mistakes and forgive them. Compassionate means simply try to understand how the dog feels and why they react in certain ways. So, you ask, where do I find a compassionate groomer? Ask questions. Look for a personal service rather than a company where dogs are coming and going, meaning high stress levels in the work place for both the dogs and the workers. Choose your groomer, rather than dropping your dog off where there are 1, 2 or 3 different groomers or where groomers change from month to month. Ask that your dog be groomed right away and that you would like to pick them up as soon as they are finished. If that is not possible then ask to see the grooming area and where your dog will stay while they wait to be picked up. Support your groomer not only in their advice, but in areas they cannot do due to your dog’s fears, for example do not ask your groomer: “Muzzle”, Hold my dog down,” Just do it anyway” if you know your dog has aggression when having things done. Part of a groomer’s job is to trim, brush and wash your dog’s paws and pads. If we hold your dog down, tie them up, muzzle them, then we break trust and without trust there is no bonding meaning your dog will be under a lot of stress each time they come to the groomers. For some of you this article with my beliefs may seem over the top but I have spent my life working with dogs including many extreme cases where no other groomer has been able to groom their dog and believe me nothing beats working with dogs like this using compassionate grooming. Seeing a dog slowly accept you, trust you, then turn to you and show you love and affection is worth all the hard work and a good groomer is one of the best investments you can make with your dog as we ensure they stay in top condition and health, spotting health problems like ear infections, dietary problems, ingrown toenails, fungal infections, fleas, ticks, lumps, growths and much more...If you would like to talk to me, please email me, call me or send me a message through my Facebook page. For appointments please be aware that I am fully booked at least 1 week in advance, with certain times of years being booked up 2 weeks in advance.

KEY LAW More EU Member States Moving Towards GDPR Implementation

By Victoria Anzola, www.seqqe.com

France’s data protection law was adopted on 20 June and published on 21 June. In Spain, due to a change of government, the new DP Law is still on hold. In the first week of August, the Government approved an urgent regulation appointing Spain’s national DPA as its representative on the European Data Protection Board. It also provides a transitory regime for enforcement proceedings currently underway and data processing agreements currently in force. In Romania, the legislative proposal for implementing the GDPR (Pl-x no. 167/03.04.2018) was adopted on 27 June and entered into force on 31 July 2018. On 17 July, Hungary’s Parliament adopted a national law supplementing the GDPR. It has now been published and will enter into force after one month. What are the European Commission’s sanctions against Member States which move too slowly towards GDPR implementation? The Commission has taken the first step to send warning letters to the relevant governments to alert them of possible future action. Ultimately, the Commission may refer Member States to the Court of Justice of the EU requesting that financial penalties be applied. ICO issues Facebook maximum £500,000 fine under 1998 DP Act On issuing an interim report on its investigation into the use of data analytics in political campaigns, the UK ICO plans to fine Facebook £500,000 for two breaches of the Data Protection Act 1998. Facebook now has a chance to respond to the Commissioner’s Notice of Intent, after which a final decision will be made. The ICO’s investigation concluded that Facebook contravened the law by failing to safeguard people’s information. It also found that the company failed to be transparent about how people’s data was harvested by others and why they might be targeted by a political party or campaign. The ICO says that the government should legislate at the earliest opportunity to introduce a statutory Code of Practice under the Data Protection Act 2018 for the use of personal information in political campaigns. The ICO will work closely with government to determine the scope of the Code. The ICO’s ongoing investigation involves 11 political parties which have received a warning letter, and notices compelling them to agree to audits of their data protection practices. The ICO will also conduct audits of the main credit reference companies and Cambridge University Psychometric Centre. In addition, an enforcement notice has been served on SCL Elections Ltd to compel it to deal properly with a subject access request from Professor David Carroll; and a criminal prosecution for SCL Elections Ltd for failing to properly deal with the ICO’s Enforcement Notice. An Enforcement Notice has been served on Aggregate IQ to stop processing retained data belonging to UK citizens, and a Notice of Intent to take regulatory action against data broker Emma’s Diary (Lifecycle Marketing

(Mother and Baby) Ltd). The ICO’s investigation, one of the largest of its kind by a Data Protection Authority, is expected to be concluded by the end of October 2018. The ICO will work with the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), and the relevant lead Data Protection Authorities, to ensure online platforms’ compliance with the GDPR. The ICO has now also made enquires with, and interviewed Google, Twitter and Snap. Under the GDPR, Ireland’s Data Protection Commission is the lead supervisory authority for Facebook Ireland Ltd which is the controller of personal data for UK users. The ICO can act as a ‘concerned authority’ in any future investigations that take place into these issues. Japan and EU conclude talks on adequacy Japan and the EU have agreed to recognise each other’s data protection systems as ‘equivalent’, which will allow data to flow safely and legally between them. The EU and Japan agreed to create the world’s largest area of safe data flows, the EU Commission says. “Each side will now launch its relevant internal procedures for the adoption of its adequacy finding. For the EU, this involves obtaining an opinion from the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and the green light from a committee composed of representatives of the EU Member States. Once this procedure will have been completed, the Commission will adopt the adequacy decision on Japan. “With this agreement, the EU and Japan affirm that, in the digital era, promoting high privacy standards and facilitating international trade go hand in hand. Under the GDPR, an adequacy decision is the most straightforward way to ensure secure and stable data flows,” the EU Commission says. The agreement also covers personal data exchanged for law enforcement purposes. However, Japan still has some work to do, including: • A complaint-handling mechanism to investigate and resolve complaints from Europeans regarding access to their data by Japanese public authorities. This new mechanism will be administered and supervised by the Japanese independent data protection authority. • A set of rules providing individuals in the EU whose personal data are transferred to Japan with additional safeguards that will bridge several differences between the two data protection systems. These additional safeguards will strengthen, for example: the protection of sensitive data; the conditions under which EU data can be further transferred from Japan to another third country; and the exercise of individual rights to access and rectification. These rules will be binding on Japanese companies importing data from the EU and enforceable by the Japanese independent data protection authority (PPC) and courts.

KEY COMPUTERS Computer Storage Why is storage needed in a computer? Without a storage device, a computer cannot save or remember any settings or information and would be considered a dumb terminal. Although a computer can run with no storage device, it would only be able to view information unless it was connected to another computer that had storage capabilities. Even a task such as browsing the Internet requires information to be stored on your computer. Why so many different storage devices? As computers advance, so do the requirements for storage space and the technologies used to store data. Because people need more and more space, want it faster, cheaper, and want to take it with them, new technologies have to be invented. When new storage devices are designed, as people upgrade to those new devices the older devices are no longer needed and stop being used.

By Computer City

1, Dropbox 2, Google Drive 3, Mega 4, Microsoft OneDrive 5, Apple iCloud 5. Re-writable CD’s - These are devices that look exactly like a CD, except you can store information on them. They are often used to store music, text files, photos, and other data. If you need more storage space and are not sure what device would be best for you, then contact Computer City for great advice! We stock a large selection of computer storage devices and can also help you set up online storage if you are not sure how to go about doing so.

Different Types of Computer Storage Devices There are a number of different computer storage devices such as flash drives, external hard drives, smart cards, rewritable CD’s, and even online storage sites. Floppy and ZIP disks are rarely used. 1. Flash drives - Also known as thumb drives (because of their size) or USB drives (because of the port they connect to), flash drives are the premiere way to store data in a compact and portable fashion. Flash drives range in data capacity from 64 megabytes of 64gigabytes. 2. External hard drives - they are exactly like the hard drive on any computer, except they are outside of your computer. They usually connect through a USB port (similar to flash drives), are designed either for desktops or laptops and have a storage capacity of up to 4 terabytes. 3. Smart cards - also known as memory cards. The usage and types of smart cards have evolved over the years from primary usage in laptops to cell phones and Personal Digital Assistants (PDA’s). 4. Online storage - Also called ‘remote backup’, online storage sites allow you to store information on their servers. Here is a list of 5 online storage providers around today.

There is a variety of rice dishes (minimum 2 persons) including Rice with Rock Lobster. Seafood and Fish dishes are plentiful including Grilled or Boiled Rock Lobster, Mixed Fried Fish “Malaga” style, Tuna or Seabass. You will also find a selection of good quality meat dishes including Green Pepper or Roquefort Entrecote or Sirloin Steak, Iberian Secret Pork, Baked Leg of Suckling Lamb or Chateubriand. House Specialties include Tuna Tartare, King Prawns in Pernod, Fish & Seafood Operetta (the latter two are tried and tested and highly recommended), Chicken Cordon Bleu with Pepper Sauce and Strogonoff. Vegetarian options are also available. There is also a good, home-made dessert selection and of course good wine to complement your meal. The standard here is excellent and in our opinion The Family Restaurant & Bar is well worth a visit. The Family Bar & Restaurant was voted restaurant of issue 117.

Also serving delicious noodles to eat in, take away or home delivery. Open from 5pm til late. menu of the day only 9.90€ Monday to Friday 1-4pm except holidays. Mini India Elviria is the 3rd Mini India in the chain and I am so pleased that it has been opened in our local area as the food is absolutely fantastic and reasonably priced. Very nice décor and comfy seating both indoors and outside on the extensive terrace. You can taste that the finest ingredients have been carefully selected, food freshly prepared and portions are generous. Dishes provide a variety of tempting flavours and intensity of spices suitable for all palates. I would highly recommend the Prawns Puri for a starter, easily the best one I have had in ages. Of the usual Indian favourites I would recommend the Madras. Tandoori dishes include Chicken Haryali and Chef’s Specials a delicate Irani Kofta Curry for those that like it a bit milder and sweet. Mango Kulfi recommended for dessert. There are plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from as well as a selection or rice and Biriyani dishes and also a kids’ menu. Naann breads are delicious. Lunchtime menu of the day is excellent value for money and the dishes are plentiful. Food is available to eat in, take away or home delivery. Waiting staff are very attentive. The best Indian food I have had locally in a very long time. I have already eaten here more than once and would definitely give Mini Inida a big thumbs up. Key recommended. RESTAURANT OF THE ISSUE

Specialties - Full English Breakfast, Fish & Chips, Succulent Steaks, Fresh Doner Kebabs, Uzbekistan Food and Homemade Pizza and of course the best of British - Sunday Roast! Soli and Laura look forward to welcoming you to their café on the La Cala Hills Strip. A great café in the area but with a twist as it also serves a selection of delicious, traditional food from Uzbekistan such as chicken Tabaca, Plov and Lagman Noodles, Shish Kebab etc. We always like to try something different and have really enjoyed all the traditional dishes that we have eaten at Oasis. Oasis is open from Sunday to Saturday from 8am until late for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Great choice on the menu including Full English Breakfast, snacks etc. On Friday nights you can enjoy Traditional Fish & Chips all day but it is advisable to book if you want to eat between 6 -9 pm. “Sizzling Steaks” have become so popular that they are now available every day - succulent fillet or giant, juicy T-bone, all cooked to your liking and served with a choice of sauces and accompaniments to suit your taste. Sundays of course the traditional British Sunday Roast is served from 1 – 7pm and again, booking is advised. Snacks, Sandwiches and Tapas are also available. We love the kebabs, fish and chips, Sunday roast, Uzbec food and warm welcome at Oasis. Also great that it is open all day so you can always stop off for a quick bite at odd hours.
