HOUSTON DYNAMO vs PHILADELPHIA UNION BBVA COMPASS STADIUM, Houston, Texas October 20, 2012 (WEEK 32, MLS Game #309) 6:30 p.m. CT (NBC SN; TSN2) The Houston Dynamo will be aiming to extend their long unbeaten run while also securing a spot in the MLS Cup Playoffs when they play host to Philadelphia Union on Saturday evening at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Dynamo are undefeated at home over the entire season, their streak now at 24 games, and are still hanging on to fifth place in the Eastern Conference following their 1-1 draw with Montréal last time out. Union are eliminated from playoff consideration but have won two games in a row, coming off a 1-0 win against New England before the international break. REFEREE: Mark Geiger. A late Brian Ching penalty kick was the decider in a 2-1 Dynamo victory June 30 at BBVA Compass Stadium, then Freddy Adu scored a pair of goals in a 3-1 Union win Sept. 23 at PPL Park.  The win in the first meeting was the Dynamo’s first in league play vs. Philadelphia; Union had won two of the first four, with two draws. But Houston did win both legs of last year’s Eastern Conference Semifinal Series, a 2-1 win in Chester followed by a 1-0 victory in Houston, on their way to MLS Cup 2011.  Coaches record: John Hackworth vs. HOU: P2 W1 L1 D0 … Dominic Kinnear v PHI: P6 W1 L3 D2 LAST MEETING  Union took the lead in the 28th minute. Right back Ray Gaddis made a marauding run up the field and put in a cross that eventually found its way to Freddy Adu beyond the far post. Adu then cut the ball in front of goal and beat Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall to the near post.  The Dynamo pulled level just a minute before halftime when Boniek García hit a beautiful strike off the post and in, following a great feed from Will Bruin, who sucked both defenders to him in the middle of the box.  Adu netted his second goal of game when he banged home a 50th-minute penalty kick after André Hainault dragged down Philly’s Sheanon Williams in the box. Adu then left the game while clutching his left leg, replaced by Keon Daniel.  Josué Martinez capped the victory in the 71th minute when he got his foot on a blast from center back Amobi Okugo and took another touch to beat Hall right in front of the net.  PHILADELPHIA UNION (4-4-2): Zac MacMath - Raymon Gaddis, Carlos Valdes, Amobi Okugo, Sheanon Williams - Danny Cruz (Chris Albright 81), Michael Lahoud, Brian Carroll, Michael Farfan - Freddy Adu (Keon Daniel 57 / Antoine Hoppenot 66), Josue Martinez.  HOUSTON DYNAMO (4-3-3): Tally Hall - Kofi Sarkodie, Andre Hainault (Cam Weaver 81), Bobby Boswell, Jermaine Taylor - Luiz Camargo (Giles Barnes 63), Ricardo Clark, Brad Davis - Boniek Garcia, Will Bruin, Macoumba Kandji (Calen Carr 46).

MLS GAME INFORMATION

HOUSTON DYNAMO The Houston Dynamo extended their long undefeated streak at home for one more match, reaching a 1-1 draw with the Montréal Impact on Oct. 6 at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Dynamo are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with 50 points from 32 games. LAST MATCH  The Dynamo opened the scoring in the 44th minute when winger Calen Carr shook Impact defender Alessandro Nesta in the box and set up Will Bruin up for a poke inside the near post.  But the Impact pulled even in the 66th minute. Marco Di Vaio played a sublime turn and through ball to Sanna Nyassi, who was persistent cleaning up his own rebound after an initial save by Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall.  Houston’s Brian Ching appeared to pull out the full three points with a chip of Montreal goalkeeper Troy Perkins in the 93rd minute, but after a conference between referee Chris Penso and assistant referee Jason Cullum, Ching was ruled offside and the goal was disallowed.  Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear made one change to the team that recorded a late 2-0 win against the New England Revolution at BBVA Compass Stadium. Macoumba Kandji came into the team in place of Brad Davis.  HOUSTON DYNAMO (4-4-2): Tally Hall - Kofi Sarkodie, Jermaine Taylor, Bobby Boswell, Corey Ashe - Boniek Garcia, Adam Moffat (Warren Creavalle 89), Ricardo Clark, Calen Carr - Will Bruin (Cam Weaver 72), Macoumba Kandji (Brian Ching 72). TEAM NEWS  It’s the final home game of the regular season for the Dynamo, who are bidding to become the fourth team in MLS history to go undefeated at home over an entire season (San Jose, 2005; Real Salt Lake, 2010; LA Galaxy, 2011).  The Dynamo are also riding a 24-game home unbeaten streak in league play, now the second-longest in MLS history. Real Salt Lake’s 29-game streak from 2009-11 is the league record.  “Definitely happy when it’s all said and done that we’re in the position that if the season ended today we’d be in,” said goalkeeper Tally Hall. “We look back and we still see some critical things that we need to do better. … I know it’s late in the season, but those things can still be done and still be accomplished. We’re in a spot where we can get in if we do our job ,so at the end of the day, it’s not so bad.”  The Dynamo can also lay claim to a place in the MLS Cup Playoffs with a victory vs. Philadelphia and a Columbus Crew loss earlier Saturday at D.C. United.  “We live to fight another day and we still have some business to attend to,” said defender Bobby Boswell. “Our destiny’s still in our hands, but we’ve made it a little tougher on ourselves.”  Midfielder Brad Davis missed the Montréal match with a calf injury suffered during training, but has returned to full training. He is listed as questionable for the Philadelphia match on the club’s injury report.  “This is the first time I’ve been really able to get back on the field and really test it,” Davis said. “You want to slowly progress and that’s what I was doing, going through some slow agility stuff and making sure that was okay and then ramping it up and I ended up getting to a 100 percent. Now I know I’m comfortable with the fact that I can get back into training and feel confident that the calf’s good.”  Said Boswell: “He’s a great player and obviously he’s been a part of everything in terms of our success. We need everyone who's available and healthy to play, so getting him back to healthy is the goal. ... He’s a very important piece of this team.”  Will Bruin scored his 12th goal of the season, his first since Aug. 25. “Obviously we would’ve liked to get the win [against Montreal] but we still have [the playoffs] within our control,” said Bruin. “I really don’t feel as much pressure on us, I just feel we have to go out and play and the results will take care of themselves. There’re only two games left so there are not many more opportunities we can miss.”  Cam Weaver made his third consecutive appearance as a substitute, his fifth in the last eight games after going more than three months without a first-team outing.  Brian Ching also came off the bench for the final 18 minutes in his 14th substitute appearance since the midway point of the campaign.  “I thought we did everything right [except for] getting in the back of the net,” said Weaver. “In the end, it’s about the ball crossing that line and hitting the back of the net and, unfortunately, we weren’t able to do that.” PHILADELPHIA UNION Philadelphia Union won for a second match on the trot, defeating the New England Revolution 1-0 on Oct. 6 at PPL Park. Union are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with 36 points from 31 games. LAST MATCH  The game's lone goal came in the 73rd minute. After Michael Farfan won a free kick in the right corner, Jack McInerney snuck to the back post and headed home Keon Daniel's service.  The Revolution finished the game a man down when midfielder Benny Feilhaber was sent off in the 89th minute for his second yellow card.

MLS GAME INFORMATION

Union interim manager John Hackworth made two changes to the team that defeated the Chicago Fire 3-1 at Toyota Park. Gabriel Farfan came into the back four for Sheanon Williams, and Gabriel Gomez replaced Danny Cruz in the midfield.  PHILADELPHIA UNION (4-2-3-1): Zac MacMath - Raymon Gaddis, Amobi Okugo, Carlos Valdes, Gabriel Farfan - Michael Lahoud (Antoine Hoppenot 61), Brian Carroll - Michael Farfan, Gabriel Gomez (Roger Torres 71), Keon Daniel - Jack McInerney (Chris Albright 81). TEAM NEWS  Union have now won two games in a row since being eliminated from playoff contention, and have taken the full three points in three of their last four games off an eight-game winless run.  “We’ll get results and we’re playing good. Before, I think we were playing good, and we weren’t getting the results. And that’s what I think this team has a little bit of a chip on their shoulder, because we want to prove to people that we can play well and get the results,” Union manager John Hackworth said. “And so the guys in that room have a lot of pride, a lot of character.”  Jack McInerney scored for a third consecutive match, equaling the Union club record for consecutive games with a goal, which had been done three times previously.  “Jack McInerney has been really important to us in the last couple months and it’s great to see him scoring goals because for this team, in the last couple games, he’s done a huge amount of work and this is a tough position for him because we’re asking him to do it by himself a little bit,” Hackworth said. “ … I think what you’re seeing right now is a goal-scorer's mentality. This is the third game in a row he’s scored and I can’t remember that happening here before. All of these things are good indicators of what we already knew.”  Union goalkeeper Zac MacMath kept his eighth shutout of the season, his first since a scoreless draw at New England on Sept. 1.  “Everyone sets individual goals as well as team goals,” MacMath said. “That’s on my priority list for individual goals. [Ten shutouts is] something I hope to reach. … It had been a while. I’m happy to get one under my belt and I’m trying to close out the season with as many shutouts as I can.”  Making a start in consecutive games for the first time since June 30-July 4, Keon Daniel recorded his first assist of the season.  “I think it showed in the last two games why everyone in the locker room and coaching staff feel that way. In consecutive games, he’s contributed in every possible way,” Hackworth said. “ … He was really good in possession and going forward. He joined the attack and his service, especially on set pieces, was excellent and consistent. But he did a lot of work to get back and his intensity was right. I think it’s been something he’s struggled with – the intensity in this league. He’s certainly stepped up in that regard.”  After missing the New England match with what was first feared to be a season-ending Achilles tendon injury, winger Danny Cruz says he will be available for the final two matches this season. He is listed as questionable on the club’s injury report.  “I don’t plan on missing any more games,” Cruz said. “ … I think people that know me know I can play through a lot. But that scared me. It was a sharp, shooting pain and something I’ve never felt before. So I was really worried. But everything turned out well.”

DYNAMO SEEKING WIN IN HOME FINALE TO COMPLETE UNBEATEN HOME SCHEDULE The Houston Dynamo (13‐8‐11; 50 points) will host the Philadelphia Union (10‐15‐6, 36 points) on Saturday night in their final regular season home game. With a win or a draw, the Dynamo (10‐0‐6 at home) will become the fourth team in league history to complete an unbeaten home schedule. The Dynamo can also clinch a place in the playoffs on Saturday. A Houston win over the Union and a Columbus Crew lose to D.C. United would secure a berth for the Dynamo. The Dynamo are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, three points behind the New York Red Bulls and a point above the Columbus Crew. The top five teams in each conference qualify for the MLS playoffs.

Houston vs. Philadelphia Houston is 1‐3‐2 in regular season meetings with the Union heading into Saturday’s third meeting of 2012. The Union defeated the Dynmo, 3‐1, on Sept. 29 at PPL Park. Freddy Adu tallied a pair of goals for the Union while Boniek Garcia scored for the Dynamo. In the first meeting this season, June 30 in Houston, the Dynamo earned a 2‐1 win. Brad Davis and Brian Ching delivered Houston’s goals while Keon Daniel provided the Union equalizer. Ching came of the bench and earned a late penalty, which he buried for the match‐winner. The clubs met in the 2011 MLS playoffs and the Dynamo secured a 3‐1 aggregate series win. Houston won 2‐1 at PPL Park in the first leg before closing out the series with a 1‐0 triumph in the final Dynamo game at Roberston Stadium.

DYNAMO NOTES 

_

Dynamo play to 1‐1 draw with Montreal: The Dynamo and Montreal Impact drew 1‐1 on Oct. 6 at BBVA Compass Stadium. Will Bruin handed the Dynamo a lead just before halftime, but Montrealʹs Sanna Nyassi evened the score midway through the second half. Deep into second half stoppage time, Brian Ching scored an apparent game‐winner with a perfect chip over charging Montreal goalkeeper Troy Perkins. But after a conference between the referees, Ching was ruled offside and the goal was nullified.

Bruin nearing Ching’s season goals mark: Will Bruin scored his 12th goal of the season on Oct. 6 vs. Montreal. With his next goal, Bruin will tie Brian Ching, who set a franchise record with 13 goals in 2008. Bruin is one of only three players in team history to reach 10 goals, joining Ching (13 in 2008, 11 in 2006) and Dwayne De Rosario (11 in 2006).

DYNAMO IN HISTORIC HOME TERRITORY 

Dynamo seeking fourth perfect home season in MLS history: The Dynamo are 10‐0‐6 (W‐L‐T) at home in 2012 and with a win or a draw on Saturday against Philadelphia, would become just the fourth team in Major League Soccer history (est. 1996) to complete a season without a regular season home loss. Dominic Kinnear was also head coach of the 2005 San Jose Earthquakes, one of three teams to complete a perfect home season. Garcia, Taylor, Watson advance to final round of World Cup qualifying: Three Dynamo players – Boniek Garcia, Jermaine Taylor and Je‐Vaughn Watson – helped their counties reach the final round of World Cup qualifying with results on Tuesday and Oct. 12. Honduras (Garcia) and Jamaica (Taylor and Watson) join the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama to form the six‐nation Hexagonal round, which begins next February and concludes next October. The top three nations will advance to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the fourth place country will stage a playoff against the winner of the Oceania confederation.

Familiar Face: The Dynamo could face a familiar face for the fifth time this season on Saturday against the Union. Danny Cruz was drafted by the Dynamo in 2009 and played in 51 games during three seasons in orange before he was traded to D.C. United in January. If Cruz plays on Saturday (listed as questionable with a left big toe sesamoid stress fracture on Tuesday), it will be Cruz’s fifth game against the Dynamo in 2012. Cruz started all three Dynamo‐D.C. United games this season before starting for Philadelphia in its 3‐1 win over the Dynamo on Sept. 29.

Hall breaks former mentor Pat Onstad’s shutout record: Goalkeeper Tally Hall recorded his 12th shutout of the season on Sept. 29 against New England. With the clean sheet, Hall passed former teammate Pat Onstad, who set an individual franchise record with 11 shutouts in 2007, when the club had a total of 13 clean sheets in 30 regular season games. Hall is second in the league in shutouts, trailing only Jimmy Nielsen of Sporting Kansas City (14).

Ching among best finishers in league history: Brian Ching has scored 82 goals in his 11‐year Major League Soccer career and has been one of the most efficient finishers in league history. Among players with a minimum of 100 career shots on goal, Ching has the second best goals‐per‐shot‐on‐goal percentage, at 43%. Simply put, 43 percent of the time Ching has recorded a shot on goal, he has scored. Below is a chart of the best scoring rates for players with a minimum of 100 shots on goal. PLAYER

Boswell sets career‐high for games in a season: Dynamo defender Bobby Boswell played in his 31st regular season game of the season on Sept. 29 vs. New England, surpassing his previous career‐high for games in a season of 30, set in 2006. The 29‐ year‐old has been a mainstay since his 2005 rookie season, appearing in at least 23 games and making 22 starts or more each season. Boswell has averaged 28 games and 27.63 starts per season in his eight‐year career. If Boswell plays Saturday versus Philadelphia, it will be his 225th career regular season game.

Brad Davis, Midfield Maestro: Midfielder Brad Davis recorded his 12th assist of the season on Sept. 29 vs. New England. It is the fourth consecutive season the all‐star midfielder has recorded 12 or more assists in a season. Davis had 16 assists in 2011 (career‐high) and 12 assists in 2010 and 2009. Davis is tied for fourth place in the league in assists, trailing Graham Zusi (15) of Sporting Kansas City.

Davis continues to climb MLS all‐time assist chart: Dynamo midfielder Brad Davis recorded his 92nd career regular season assist on Sept. 29 vs. New England to pass Cobi Jones for seventh on the MLS all‐time assist chart. Davis is now nine assists behind the next man on the chart, Marco Etcheverry, who is sixth with 101 assists. Dynamo assistant coach Steve Ralston is the all‐time leader, with 135 assists.

Kinnear passes Nicol on MLS all‐time wins chart: With the 2‐0 win over New England on Sept. 29, Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear passed Steve Nicol and moved into fifth place on the all‐time Major League Soccer wins chart. Kinnear has 113 wins in nine seasons as head coach between Houston and San Jose.

Boniek García continues strong start: Boniek Garcia scored for the second consecutive game on Sept. 29 vs. New England, his third overall goal in orange. The Dynamo are 8‐3‐6 in MLS play since the Honduran midfielder’s debut on June 30 (record includes 1‐0 win over Real Salt Lake when Garcia missed game for international duty). Garcia has three goals and six assists and has played 90 minutes in each of his 16 games. Houston has outscored its opponents 24‐15 in the 16 matches Garcia has played. Despite not playing in the first 15 games of the season, Garcia has the second most assists on the club, six. The 28‐year‐old Designated Player signed with Houston on June 7 after playing for Honduran powerhouse C.D. Olimpia since 2003. The midfielder debuted for the Honduras national team in 2005 and has 73 appearances for his country, including five appearances in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Dynamo had 56 percent possession against Montreal on Oct. 6, 66% against New England on Sept. 29, 54% against Philadelphia, lost the possession battle to Sporting Kansas City (59‐41%) and Real Salt Lake (58‐42%) but have mostly controlled possession. United. Houston lost the possession battle to Sporting KC on July 7, 50.2%‐49.8%, had 61% vs. Chicago on July 3, 55% vs. Philadelphia, had less, 53‐47%, at Montreal, had 63% vs. Toronto, 54% against FC Dallas, 54% at Vancouver, 60% vs. LA, 62% at New England, 60% vs. Portland, 56% vs. D.C., 53% at New York, 54% at D.C., a 49‐51% disadvantage at Columbus, 55% at Chicago, 56% at Seattle, a disadvantage (48‐52%) at San Jose, and 53% at Chivas USA.

Dynamo tighten grip on Champions League Group 3: Houston will meet C.D. Olimpia of Honduras (1‐1‐1, 4 points) on Tuesday at BBVA Compass Stadium in the final group stage game. The Dynamo (2‐0‐1, 7 points) top Group 3, and will win the group with a win or a draw on Tuesday. Houston cruised to a 4‐0 win over C.D. FAS of El Salvador on Sept. 20 in CONCACAF Champions League group play. Midfielder Giles Barnes highlighted his home debut with a breathtaking goal in the 22nd minute, finding space in the middle of the field before cracking a shot from 30 yards into the upper corner for a 1‐0 lead. Bobby Boswell, Cam Weaver and Calen Carr completed the scoring for the Dynamo.

Second Half Savants: The Dynamo are 6‐3‐8 in games in which they were tied at halftime and 7‐0‐2 when leading at the interval. Houston is 13‐3‐10 when tied or leading at the break.

Davis sets career‐high with seventh goal: Midfielder Brad Davis set a career‐high with his seventh goal of the season on Sept. 14 at Sporting Kansas City. Davis’ previous high for goals was six, set with Dallas in 2003, his second season.

Wonderful vs. West: With the 1‐0 win over Real Salt Lake on Sept. 6, the Dynamo improved to 5‐2‐1 on the season against the heralded Western Conference. Houston also has wins against FC Dallas, LA Galaxy, San Jose and Chivas USA.

Dynamo newcomer Giles Barnes makes debut at Kansas City: Midfielder Giles Barnes made his Dynamo debut on Sept. 14 at Kansas City. Barnes, 24, entered as a substitute for the final nine minutes of the 1‐1 draw. Barnes joins Houston with eight years of experience in the upper levels of English soccer. He has 138 total appearances in all competitions, including 35 games in the Barclays English Premier League. Barnes also made 12 appearances for England’s U‐19 national team. The attacking midfielder joined Derby County of England in 2005 at age 17 and helped the Rams gain promotion to the English Premier League in 2007. Barnes scored ten goals in 84 appearances with Derby County and earned its Young Player of the Year award in 2007. The London native spent 2010‐11 with West Bromwich Albion of the English Premier League and made 19 appearances for the Baggies. Barnes played the 2011‐12 season with Doncaster Rovers of the English Championship, the second tier of English soccer. The winger tallied one goal and four assists in 36 appearances in all competitions last season.

Ching ties Diaz Arce for 11th on MLS all‐time goal list: Dynamo forward Brian Ching scored his 82nd career MLS regular season goal on Sept. 2 at Chicago. Ching is now tied for 11th on the all‐time MLS scoring list with Raul Diaz Arce. Ching’s next target is 88 goals, where Carlos Ruiz and Roy Lassiter sit tied for ninth on the league’s all‐time chart.

Boswell’s minutes streak ends: Dynamo defender Bobby Boswell played full time in 37 consecutive MLS matches (3,380 consecutive minutes, including playoffs) before exiting Houston’s 1‐0 win on Sept. 6 in the 74th minute with a stomach virus. The last time Boswell missed a minute of MLS action was Sept. 14, 2011 at Columbus. The center back was the only Dynamo field player to play every minute of every MLS game in 2012. Geoff Cameron holds the franchise record for consecutive full‐time games. Cameron’s streak reached 40 games this season (3,576 consecutive minutes, including playoffs) before he missed the May 26 game against the LA Galaxy due to international duty.

Ching sets new career‐high for games played: Dynamo forward Brian Ching set a new career‐high for regular season games played in a season on Sept. 2, with his 26th game of 2012. It is Ching’s 11th season in MLS, and the veteran twice recorded 25‐game seasons, in 2008 and 2004.

Ricardo Clark returns to Dynamo: Ricardo Clark made his return debut for the Dynamo on Aug. 10 at New York, appearing as a substitute for the final 15 minutes. The Dynamo completed the signing of the free agent midfielder on Aug. 8. Since leaving the Dynamo at the end of the 2009 season, Clark played for Eintracht Frankfurt of the German second division through February, when he was loaned to Stabæk Fotball of the Norwegian first division. A cornerstone of Houston’s 2006 and 2007 championship teams, Clark, a member of the 2006 MLS Best XI, scored 7 goals in 97 games played for the Dynamo between 2006 and 2009. Additionally, Clark has been capped 34 times by the U.S. Men’s National Team, including two starts in the 2010 World Cup.

First CCL road win in Dynamo history: The 3‐1 win at FAS on Aug. 22 was the first Dynamo road win in Central America in team history. It was Houston’s first road win in international competition since a 3‐1 win over D.C. United on July 19, 2008 in the SuperLiga.

Cameron receives U.K. visa to complete transfer to Stoke City: Former Dynamo defender Geoff Cameron was granted a United Kingdom visa on Aug. 8, completing his transfer to English Premier League club Stoke City. Cameron, 27, made 116 regular season appearances for the club in five seasons, scoring 11 goals with 15 assists. The Attleboro, Mass. native played various roles in central midfield and center back for the Dynamo and was named an MLS All‐Star in 2009, 2011 and 2012. Cameron also won Houston’s Golden Boot in 2011 with five goals and five assists in a career‐high 33 games.

Carr sets career high with fourth goal: Calen Carr set a career high with his fourth goal of the season on Aug. 3 All four goals were scored in a four‐game span, including two versus Kansas City on July 18. Carr scored 3 goals in 2010 and 2007.

Three’s Company (shutouts): After going over three years without three consecutive shutouts, the Dynamo recorded three clean sheets in a row twice in a seven‐game span in July and August. Houston kept its third straight clean sheet on Aug. 3 versus New York after recording three in a row to begin July. Before the run of six clean sheets in seven games, the last time Houston recorded three straight was May 30 – June 10, 2009.

Davis, Cameron named All‐Stars: Midfielder Brad Davis and former Dynamo defender Geoff Cameron were named to the inactive roster for the 2012 MLS All‐Star Game. The Dynamo pair were among a group of 13 players named All‐Stars that did not compete in MLS’ 3‐2 win against Chelsea FC on July 25. The 13 inactive All‐Stars were voted on by the players. It is the fourth straight year that Davis is an All‐Star, and his fifth selection overall.

Three in a row for Bruin: Will Bruin scored in three consecutive games (6/16, 6/20, 6/23) for the second time this season (4/15, 4/21, 4/28), with four goals in each three‐game scoring streak. He is the first Dynamo player with a pair of three‐game scoring streaks in the same season, and just the second player to record two streaks overall (Ching). His last streak marked the sixth time a Dynamo player has scored in three consecutive games (Bruin 2012 (twice); Ching 2006, 2008; Joseph Ngwenya 2007; Stuart Holden 2009). No Dynamo player has ever scored in four consecutive games.

Hall sets goalkeeper consecutive starts record: Tally Hall set a franchise record for consecutive regular season starts by a goalkeeper with his 47th consecutive start against FC Dallas on June 16. He broke the record of 46 set by Pat Onstad, from Sept. 13, 2008 – May 13, 2010. Hall started all 34 games in 2011 and the first 32 games in 2012, pushing the active record to 66 games. Hall has the second longest active streak MLS goalkeepers, behind Matt Pickens of Colorado (75 starts).

• BBVA Compass Stadium opener: The Dynamo opened the 13th soccer‐specific stadium in Major League Soccer on May 12. On a gorgeous, 82‐degree day in front of a sell‐out crowd of 22,039, the Dynamo honored past legends, including Wade Barrett, Pat Onstad, Eddie Robinson and Craig Waibel in a pregame ceremony that included the unveiling of 2006 and 2007 MLS Cup championship banners. Brad Davis provided a signature opening moment, delivering a beautiful, curling 30‐ yard strike for the game‐winning goal in the 67th minute.

UP NEXT: DYNAMO SEEK CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ADVACEMENT ON TUESDAY VS. OLIMPIA The Dynamo (7 points) face Olimpia of Honduras (4 points) on Tuesday at BBVA Compass Stadium in the final CONCACAF Champions League game for both clubs. The Dynamo lead Group 3 and will advance to the quarterfinals – set for March 2013 – with a win or a draw against Boniek Garcia’s former club.

He currently leads all MLS players during the international break. New England’s Jerry Bengston (Honduras) is a close second with three goals. Gabriel Gomez (Panama) played a full 90 minutes in a 0-0 tie against Honduras and 74 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Cuba. PHILADELPHIA UNION 3-1 HOUSTON DYNAMO – September 23, 2012 • • • • • •

Philadelphia Union ended their longest winless streak of the season with a 3-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo. The Dynamo controlled possession in the game (53.4%) and were more accurate than the Union at passing with a 82.1% passing accuracy rate over the Union’s 77.3%. The Union started off the scoring when right back Ray Gaddis crossed a ball into the box that took a couple of bounces off Houston players and found Freddy Adu on the endline. Adu cut the ball to the right and beat Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall to the near post. Late in the first half Houston’s Boniek Garcia hit a strike off the post and in to tie the game going into halftime. The Union’s Sheanon Williams was dragged down by Houston’s Andre Hainault in the box giving Philadelphia a penalty kick. Freddy Adu converted the penalty kick, netting his second goal of the game. The Union’s Josue Martinez scored his first goal in MLS in the 70th minute to round out the scoring on the day.

Jack McInerney became the first Union player since September 2011 to score in three consecutive MLS games. The Union won their third game out of the last four and moved their record against the Revolution all-time to 4-0-3. At half time the game remained scoreless. The Revolution had the best chance in the first half when, Honduran striker Jerry Bengtson benefitted from a touch of defensive pinball in the Union box before turning well and rounding Zac MacMath only to roll his angled shot straight off the near post. Antonie Hoppenot entered the game in the 60th minute and played agressively up front. Keon Daniel produced another fine delivery on a corner, which McInerney headed into the back of the net at the back post. It was McInerney’s seventh goal of the season, all of which have come after John Hackworth’s appointment as the Union’s Team Manager. PRODUCED BY THE PHILADELPHIA UNION
