Speech for Dalia, Nov. 6/2010

Dalia, Jacky, or Jaclyn May all seems different woman that I mean Mrs. Alalouf is her name And Holy Blossom wouldn’t be the same Holy B is her second home From Aleph to Bar/Bat mitzvah and adults too See what this special woman could do With all her heart and soul She prepared them all. Dalia touched many students in our community, From big and small she taught them all Some are students, parents and grandparents too With a smile coming to Hebrew school too. Hebrew reading, writing and chanting With a smile and praise That made these lessons not a disgrace. Emphasized from right to left… dots and dashes…all seemed the same She would correct the errors With a game.

Knowing Dalia for over 20 years is a life with long laughter and tears We travelled to CAJE conferences as well And couldn’t have had more fun …when we travelled to Israel. Dalia is an amazing Jewish mother/wife/grandmother/teacher/and an educator too It is clear she knows what to do. Either to cook for Friday night or get together with the girls at night. Making her specialty baba ganoush An appetizer for a great Nish nosh You couldn’t even buy if you wished It is a secret shoosh!!! Forty years at Holy B Can’t believe it can be Hebrew teaching is the guide, Allen Rd. or Bathurst is the only way to ride. 1950 Bathurst St.

Come and meet Dalia for a cookie treat. The clock is ticking four O’clock come and see the Hebrew supervisor rocks, from right to left the letters ride and Dalia is ready for Wed. Night. It was my great honour to write this speech. This special woman is without any gleech. Dalia cares so much for others. Since she is almost like my mother. Dalia, I am looking forward to future memories together and will treasure ones from the past. Hoping these will always last. Love, Maya Liberman
