O Falcon By Haasan Aldiqqi

" Upon the occasion of George Bush's visit to the Gulf countries following the war in Iraq, during which he was showered with gifts, including a falcon. .."

Hope, O falcon that his hands become paralyzed! He just holds you for nothing!

I know that while you're in his hands your talons are curved and sharp enough

While the lion is tied with chains, And Hyenas walk comfortably

Then glory become humiliation When Miss Rice treads there corners

What is the need for skyscrapers! Real elevation is in the Arab deserts

When Bush finished crushing Baghdad Shame covered Abu Ghraib prison

And he came out of the ruins as snake Does he deserve a kiss on his horns?

O soil of Oman! Give your testimony Every inch is full of rage

River Tigris and Euphrates are full of reproach Thus, the aid from you, my family?

The most beautiful voices of the Iraqi guns While singing Palm groves echo

It's the time of truth and true Arabic While carrying their lives in their hands
