CONFERENCE

Welcome to the seventeenth annual Teaching Matters Conference! This year’s conference theme, “First Things First: Preparing Students for Success,” spotlights strategies and course elements that we designate as “first things.” As dedicated educators and administrators in Higher Ed, we want our students to succeed; however, we all go about achieving that goal in ways that speak both to our different disciplines and to our unique teaching styles. That is also what makes a conference such as Teaching Matters such a rich forum for discussion—during sessions, at our coffee breaks, and during our networking lunches and Thursday dinner. We have a host of fascinating sessions this year, so many in fact that you may have a difficult time selecting the sessions you want to attend. To assist you with planning your days, please note that the conference program has QR codes to scan with your cell phone QR reader for a session’s description written by each presenter. Codes are also on classroom door signs. If you do not have a free QR reader on your phone, please ask at the Registration table for assistance. Thank you again for coming to our beautiful campus for two full days dedicated to our conviction that Teaching Matters!
