+ DIFFERENT LEARNING APPROACH In this matrix, the X-axis illustrates a “focus” on the delivery of instruction. The left end of the X-axis targets delivery of instructional content. The right end of the axis targets delivery of instructional experiences through activities. The Y-axis in the matrix illustrates who controls “navigation” of the learning process. At the bottom of the Y-axis, navigation of the learning process is controlled by a “guide”. At the top of the axis, navigation of the learning process is controlled by the participant.



An ecology is basically an open, complex adaptive system comprising elements that are dynamic and interdependent.

One of the things that makes an ecology so powerful and adaptable to new contexts is its diversity.�

So, a learning ecology as, “a collection of overlapping communities of interest (virtual), cross-pollinating with each other, constantly evolving, and largely self-organizing�..


Ecology concept requires the creation and delivery of a learning environment that presents a diversity of learning options to the participants.

This environment must offer students opportunities to receive learning through methods and models that best support their needs, interests, and personal situations.


+ A SUCCESSFUL LEARNING ECOLOGY 

Learning/knowledge is more than static content. It's a dynamic.

L. E. should be Informal, not structured.

The system should be flexible enough to allow participants to create according to their needs.

Tools for many opportunities for users to dialogue and connect (online / offline).

To create a knowledge sharing ecology, participants need to see a consistently evolving environment.

High, social contact (face to face or online) is needed to foster a sense of trust and comfort.

Decentralized, fostered, connected...as compared to centralized, managed, and isolated.


Informal learning is the unofficial, unscheduled, impromptu way most people learn to do their jobs.

People acquire the skills informally — talking, observing others, trial-and-error, and simply working with people in the know.

Formal training and workshops account for only 5% to 20% of what people learn from experience and interactions.


+ INFORMAL LEARNING? Examples of informal learning are: learning through observing, asking a neighbor, traveling to a new place, reading a magazine, conversing with others, taking part in a group, composing a story, reflecting on the day's events, burning your finger on a hot stove, awakening with an inspiration, raising a child, visiting a museum, pursuing a hobby, or ‌‌..


+ INFORMAL LEARNING RULES People learn their jobs by doing their jobs. (Experience is the teacher) The 70 percent: learning from experience. People learn by doing. The 20 percent: learning through others. Learning is social. (People learn with and through others.) The 10 percent: formal learning includes courses, workshops, seminars, and online learning.



+ ACTIVE LEARNING ECOSYSTEM It is a new framework. It is a new way for learning experience. It combine: technology – space - pedagogy
