Brazil Explore Awards The Brazil Explore Awards was created having in mind a natural progression from the Brazilian Trade and Music Festival, by presenting and valuing what is best about the Brazilian community in Los Angeles. The Brazil Explore magazine was launched in May 2001 with the objective of representing Brazil to our fellow American friends and highlighting the talent of Brazilians who live in the United States. In this way, Brazil Explore wants to make a tradition of honoring the Brazilian community and professionals who elevate the name of our country overseas, through the Brazil Explore Awards.
The event will take place on November 2009 in a local theater in Los Angeles, CA with a cocktail reception followed by a party, presented to recognize the talent of professionals and personalities of the Brazilian community in various categories. Voting will be done online and our readers will decide who should be honored. The Brazil Explore Awards intuit is to honor the people and business that are nominated, but also to help create more opportunities for the community at large, since the event will bring exposure with the American and Latino media.
Objectives • Gather and recognize the best of our community; • Encourage business relationships within the community; • Recognize talents and professionals in Arts & Culture; • Promote Brazilian community businesses and attract investors’ attention to a market that is in constant growth; • Invite Los Angeles based media and advertising professionals to the event and show them the available Brazilian consumer market; • To strengthen and unite the growing Brazilian community.

The event The Brazil Explore Awards ceremony will be preceded by a cocktail party with entertainment provided by Brazilian musicians, cultural presentations by our community’s talents—a demonstration of our culture’s wealth. It is possible that a party will take place after the ceremony. The event is expected to be dynamic and very engaging within the Brazilian community and all others that the event proposes to reach out. The Brazil Explore Awards will bring Brazilians together and all those who are enchanted by our culture. The event will be of great help to all, recognizing the talents of our people, promoting the opening of new markets
and strengthening this dynamic, constantly growing community. The Brazil Explore Awards are taking place in recognition of the success and work developed by the Brazilian community in the United States. This maiden event created by the Brazil Explore Magazine, has the objective of encouraging, stimulating and prizing Brazilian talents in art, culture and sports, as well as professionals and entrepreneurs who stand out in their own fields. Take part in this great festivity in honor of our culture and help us celebrate those who make Brazil’s name shine across foreign borders!
The Voting The organizing body, in order to preserve the seriousness and honesty of the event, will conduct voting in an open and shared manner, divided by three voting categories: Popular Vote: Votes can be registered on the Internet, at brazilexploreawards.com. Each person must register, and can only vote once. Personal data will not be disclosed, shared or sold. These votes will be responsible for 30% of the total count.
California Chamber of Commerce will be responsible for 30% of the votes. Nominees: The top five in each category elected by popular vote, will have the right to a new vote, which will count towards the remainder 40% of the total count. Any given person will be granted access to the results, being able to verify the honesty of the vote counting system.

The nominees The event organization will define a number of categories to pay tribute to, selecting five professionals or personalities of distinction in each one. Readers can also suggest new names for inclusion in these categories. Each nominee, among a total of five per category, will be invited to take part in the event, escorted by a companion. Tickets will be available, and can be bought by the public.
