COMING THIS OCTOBER MONTH
BETHEL NEWS OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD Participate with Samaritan’s Purse in their Operation Christmas Child by blessing a child this Christmas season. Christmas shoeboxes are available in our Lobby (while supplies last). Pick up a shoebox and fill with toys and gifts, for a boy or girl, following the instructions given in the box. Then return it to the church on Sunday, November 17th. Your gift will be shipped to a child in a 3rd world nation. This is a great family project as we approach the Christmas season.
WATER BAPTISM We will be having a Water Baptism service on Sunday, December 1st at our 6:30PM service. Pastor Kim Korba and the New Wineskins church in Roseville Michigan will be joining us, as some of their church family will also be baptized that night at Bethel. If you would like to follow the Lord’s command and be baptized, please speak to Darwin & Angela Armstrong, one of the Pastors or contact the church office.

ERDO is a Christian organization passionately responding to the practical needs of people living with poverty or crisis around the world. ERDO is currently working in over 30 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and South America. ERDO has three main areas of programming, child sponsorship, crisis response, and community development. Erdo’s child sponsorship program, ChildCARE Plus, plays a critical role in transforming communities, by providing children with an education, helping to release them from poverty and giving them an opportunity to learn about Jesus. ERDO also responds to crises, whether they be natural disasters or political conflict, by providing timely relief through emergency food aid, economic aid, and training that builds the capacity of communities to guard against future crises. To provide longterm solutions to poverty and injustice, ERDO has programs that provide livelihood support and training for families and communities, provide access to quality nutrition and the tools and training needed to increase their food self-sufficiency, provide access to clean water and sanitation and hygiene facilities, among other things. ERDO also works with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB), an organization made up of 15 Canadian church denominations and church-based agencies that work to pool resources to bring a Christian response to hunger. Through Erdo’s membership, donations to food assistance and food security projects are multiplied by matching funds available from the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada (GAC), with 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, or 4:1 matches.
KIDS / STUDENT MINISTRIES CHILDREN’S MINISTRY NURSERY There is a volunteer staffed Nursery open for babies 0-2years (down main floor hallway). TODDLER 2-3 years are welcome in our toddler class (upstairs). We play, sing songs, read a story, eat a snack and make a craft. PRESCHOOL JK and SK children are welcome in our Preschool class (upstairs). This month we are learning about the feelings experienced by people in the Bible. ELEMENTARY Grades 1-5 are welcome in our Elementary class (upstairs). This month we are learning about the 7 “I am” statements that Jesus made in the book of John.
STUDENT MINISTRY RESCUE (Wednesdays at 6PM) Rescue is our program for grades 5-8. Rescue exists to create a fun place for pre-teens to learn about God and build relationships while having a fun time. You can look us up on Facebook by searching Rescue @ Bethel Sarnia (group). REVO (Thursdays at 7PM) Revo is our high school program that is geared toward grades 8-12. We meet on Thursday nights from 7-9pm. Revo is a great place for students to belong to a youth group family while growing in their relationship with God.
