NICKNAME COLORS RANKING RECORD COACH (RECORD / SEASON)

GA ME PR E V IE W The Pilots face a stiff test in the MCC on Tuesday as they travel to Indianapolis to take on the Marian Knights, just one vote shy of appearing in the Top 25. The Pilots are looking for what could be their longest winning streak of the season at five games, with a win against the 11-4 Knights. The Pilots are coming off a successful week, in which they vaulted from last in the conference to fourth with three straight conference wins, two on the road and one against No. 24 Huntington. In the win over the Foresters, Caleb Laidig scored a career-high 30 points, going 14-of-14 from the free throw line. Kyle Ritz had another fine all-around performance with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1 steal. Darrell Hopkins, in his first career start, responded with 7 points and 9 rebounds. Joe Welch, currently third in single season field goal percentage in program history, completed 5-of-5 field goals for 15 points. Marian has won eight of their last nine games, with their lone loss coming on the road to No. 5 Saint Francis, 77-84. In their last time out, the Knights defeated Taylor, 64-53, on Thursday night. Aaron Evans, the CCAC Freshman of the Year last year at Purdue Calumet, led the Knights with 17 points and 3 steals. All-Conference performer Jordan Tucker added 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks. Marian is coming off the MCC bye on Saturday and currently finds themselves sitting at No. 26 in the nation, their highest rating since January 11, 2005 when they were No. 22. The Pilots reappear in the poll this week after a brief absence. The Pilots last appeared in the December 6 poll at No. 35. The Pilots have won seven of the last eight meetings, with the one loss coming last year in Indianapolis, 69-83.
