Words From Your Treasurer

Hey District Board! We are only three months away from ending the service year, but that does not mean we can all take a break! Thankfully, the New York District Awards Booklet is released to give some of us a wake-up call. We should all be looking at the Distinguished Key Clubber Award, the Robert F. Lucas Outstanding Lieutenant Governor’s Award, and the Distinguished District Officer Tabs. Even though service should be done for the sake of helping our home, school, and community, there is nothing wrong with getting recognized for it! In addition, these awards make sure that we are all doing what we are supposed to be doing. If there are some criteria that are not fulfilled, you know what the next three months should be devoted to. December 1 was the Regular Dues deadline. As of December 1, all dues submitted are considered late. Even though all clubs that haven’t paid dues are now considered delinquent, these clubs can just submit dues as soon as possible to return to an active status. Please continue to remind your clubs to update their Membership Update Center and to submit dues. Yours in the spirit of service, Alexander Mok District Treasurer 2013 – 2014

Christmas Show

Set up a gift wrapping station at your local shopping mall. You can ask shoppers for donations in return for wrapping their presents this holiday season.

Walk around the neighborhood with a couple of other Key Clubbers singing Christmas carols to raise money for a cause. Instruments can be used in addition to vocals.

Hold a Christmas show with holiday themed performances. There is so much to display like the nativity story, Christmas songs, and other festive acts.

District and International Dues Collection

Below you will find a breakdown of how every club member’s dues are used. The money is never gone to waste, and it is important to tell current and prospective members where their money is going. For the 2013 – 2014 service year, dues will be $12.50 in addition to the optional $1 – $3 that each club can add. The breakdown of dues is shown below. International $6.50 • International Website www.keyclub.org • International Board Meetings • Governor and Administrator Training Conference • Resources (posters, public relations tools) • Pins and Membership Cards • District Support • Awards (scholarships, distinguished officers, etc.) • International Convention • Other Expenses

New York District $6.00 • District Website www.nydkc.org • Board Meetings • District/Club Awards • District Officer Materials (pins, resources, etc.) • Leadership Training Conference • Other Expenses

Your Club $1.00 – $3.00 • Events (parties, fundraisers, etc.) • Club Website • Meeting Supplies • Supplies for Projects • Support to Attend LTC • Kiwanis Club Visits • Club Awards • Other Expenses

Look on Page 10 to find out which of your clubs have and have not had their checks and invoices processed by International. If there is no “X” next to your school’s name, that means the club has not submitted dues yet. Please remind them of the importance of dues submission. Also remind them that you, International, and I are here to answer any questions about dues.
