ockley Table Tennis Club which began 10 years ago , is inviting beginners as well as more experienced young players aged 10 and above to come and try out if table tennis is for you. Our junior players are led by qualified coaches and train on a Friday evening between 6pm and 9pm all year round. There are different sessions for beginners (7.30pm - 9pm) and more experienced players (6pm - 7.30pm). Come and have your first session free and if you would like your son or daughter to join then there is a one-off £10 membership fee and the weekly subs are £3 per session per child. t’s good to see a number of Hockley buildings have recently been renovated. It’s taken a while but how smart the old bakery is now looking. The old Spa Pump House is also looking good, joining other buildings renovated in recent times such as Stibbards, Costa, Potters, Seemore Glass and Wells Legal. Unfortunately there are still a number of buildings not looking their best but it is understandable in these tough times. There are people that don’t like UPVC windows especially in older buildings or they may not be allowed as the building is listed. Often the alternative is peeling paint work and in my opinion, with windows, distressed is not a good look. I hope to see more buildings being improved in future, as I’m sure we all want our village to look its best to draw in those all important visitors and shoppers.
