The 2012-2013 Academic Year at Winston-Salem State University was a proud one for alumni, students and staff as we celebrated our 120th anniversary. The year-long commemoration featured a kick-off birthday party with WinstonSalem Mayor Allen Joines proclaiming September 28th as Simon Green Atkins Day. The anniversary marked an outstanding heritage of effort and accomplishment for our university, but more importantly a celebration of the university’s vibrancy and renewed spirit for the future. Our 2010-2015 Strategic Plan continues to guide our progress in our core achievement areas. While the economy and the state budget challenge us to make progress with fewer financial resources, the spirits and efforts of our alumni, students, administration, faculty and staff remain undaunted. The result is a proud array of achievements from the 20122013 academic year.
