Cancellations & Refunds. If we are forced to cancel any excursion, a full refund will be made. In the event of a customer cancelling we shall apply charges in line with the scale below. Tickets cannot be transferred to future trips. More than 28 days notice - Full refund, 14 to 28 days notice - Less 25%, 7 to 13 days notice - Less 50%, Less than 7 days notice - No refund. All bookings must be pre-booked - we cannot pick you up if you are not booked. For the vast majority of trips we aim to stay at the destination for around 4 ½ hours. The tour takes approximately 75 minutes with visitor assistants along the route to help if required. Most of the buildings seen on the tour were built in the mid 19th Century following a devastating fire, but the route also incorporates some of the earlier buildings, such as Westminster Hall. Wednesday 19th The Vyne, Hampshire - National Trust ROUTE D The Vyne house is undergoing roof repair work. This means that the house is encased in scaffolding and that the upstairs is closed. However at the time of our visit there will be a unique opportunity to go up on a roof top walkway which will give you views of the estate and the work being carried out. The walkway is accessible via stairs and a lift and is suitable for everyone. The Vyne is a unique Tudor House situated in beautiful countryside just north of Basingstoke. Inside, the house is full of character and brimming with the history, artefacts and furnishing of its residence over the years. Originally built for Henry VIII’s Lord Chamberlain, the house retains its Tudor Chapel and many original features. Around the grounds there are extensive woodland trails to explore and a wetland area populated by many different species of bird. Lovely day travelling today as we continue north. We shall have an extended stop for lunch in the centre of historic Sterling before arrving at the hotel mid/late afternoon. Wonderful excursion today as we head north up the Glenshee Glen in to The Cairngorms National Park. Stunning scenery as we travel through the mountains stopping in the famous village of Braemar before arriving at Balmoral Castle. Famously the childhood home of the late Queen Mother Glamis is also the legendary setting for Shakespeare's Macbeth. Thursday 29th Horse Drawn Canal Boat & Marlborough ROUTE A Extended and improved for 2016. Step back in time with us, as we head first to one of our favourite stopping places, Marlborough. This archetypal English Market town has that 'film location' quality and is a great spot to stroll around and enjoy a nice lunch. In the afternoon we head to nearby Kintbury and board the 'Kennet Valley' horse drawn barge for a 2 ½ hour cruise along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. This wide beam passenger boat was purpose built for carrying passengers and is powered solely by the Parham House towing action of the horse making for a tranquil journey. Facilities onboard include a well stocked bar serving tea, coffee, soft drinks and beverages. Whilst on board we have included a cup of tea & slice of cake for you! A lovely day out.
