The W&J Advantage Professional Readiness Magellan Projects enable exploration throughout the world. Each project starts with an idea and ends with a new understanding of the world around you.

Two Areas of Study combining majors and minors. At W&J, you will select two areas of study to help broaden your skills, experience a diverse curriculum, and build a marketable pre-professional resume.

W&J GRADUATES

Unsurpassed Value at an affordable price. We believe in providing students with an affordable education. Through generous merit scholarships, institutional grants, and other financial aid, a W&J education is affordable and accessible.

...are consistently recognized by top employers and graduate schools for their character, maturity, and readiness to take their place in the profession of their choosing.

Ethical Leadership is part of the W&J curriculum. Students learn how to foster a community of respect and inclusion, provide leadership to resolve ethical issues and conflicts, and advocate for ethical values and lead change.

Entrepreneurial Experiences are available to all students. Ignite, our on-campus business incubator, offers the necessary resources to support your entrepreneurial spirit. Whether you’re starting a business or seeking solutions to problems, Ignite can help fuel your passion.

Internships help students make professional connections. W&J will help you find the right opportunities and provide the resources necessary for success.

Professional Pathways offers every student a personalized path to success for their next journey after W&J. Students begin working with professional pathways during their first semester on campus to discern interest, sharpen skills, and pursue long-term dreams.

Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky ‘10, M.D., FAAD, is grateful for the influence that Washington & Jefferson College had on her, and through social media, she is having quite the influence on others. Dr. Zubritsky, a board-certified dermatologist specializing in general medical, surgical, cosmetics, and pediatric dermatology, became a social media influencer on TikTok and Instagram with the username @dermguru, amassing a combined following of over one million users.

When asked what advice she has for current students, Dr. Zubritsky stressed capitalizing on W&J’s many opportunities. “Take advantage of all the unique opportunities that W&J provides,” she said. “To be successful in different professions (like social media and medicine), you must be multi-faceted and wellrounded with a diverse set of life experiences outside of academics. Venture outside of your comfort zone, especially when it comes to invaluable and one-of-a-kind opportunities in research, volunteering, and classwork.”

You & The World Unique to W&J is the Magellan Project. We call it a project, but Magellan is more than a project; it is an experience that begins with an idea. Once you have an idea, you can develop a proposal to set sail to a new land, explore your passion, research the ever-changing world, or whatever you might set your sights on.

Making it Simple & Affordable What does “Simplified Pricing” mean? W&J avoids the common deceptive practice of inflating tuition and cost of attendance, in order to award exorbitantly high scholarships. We are committed to transparency of pricing and financial aid so that students and their families can clearly understand what they will pay to attend W&J.
