Discovery Day Discovery Day is a campus exploration day where families are invited to learn more about what it means to be a President at Washington & Jefferson College. During Discovery Day, you can explore academic offerings, take a campus tour, and meet members of the W&J community.

Personal Visit At W&J, we believe that community is founded here. We invite you to come see for yourself! We are happy to welcome visitors to campus for in-person admission visits and tours by appointment only. The Office of Admission welcomes individual visits on most weekdays and select Saturdays throughout the year.

Presidents Preview Day Experience your future college home during this special admitted students-only event. It’s a day dedicated to meeting future classmates, connecting with faculty and staff, and learning more about campus life from current students.

During the summer, you will be invited to Gear Up, W&J’s pre-orientation event for new students.

Late-Nite Breakfast Pool Party Rockin’ the Lawn (concert)

Some orientation events have included travel to local attractions, such as the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium or a Washington Wild Things baseball game. Orientation concludes with the Matriculation Ceremony and W&J’s tradition of “Crossing the Seal.” The orientation process features programming across four themes: transitioning to college, beginning your academic journey, creating connections and building a strong community. Orientation activities are designed to help you forge your future successfully from day one.
