UCC Bachelor of Science Degree Programmes Years 3 & 4 A full offer of admission to years 3 & 4 of a UCC Bachelor of Science degree programme is contingent on the candidate possessing sixty (60) transferable credits of prescribed courses from a recognized tertiary institution/accredited programme.

Individuals with fifty four (54) credits and above may be granted conditional acceptance into year three (3) of the bachelor degree programmes with a maximum of two courses outstanding. However, students with pre-requisite courses must complete these courses before proceeding to year four (4). All prerequisite courses are specified in the acceptance letter and must be completed within the approved timeframes.

Applicants are required to have official transcripts of their grades forwarded to the Registrar, University College of the Caribbean, for evaluation before acceptance into the programme can be granted and they may also be requested to provide course syllabi and outlines previously pursued.

Transfer Credit Policies Transfer Credits/Exemptions, Advanced Standing Candidates may use qualifications earned at other recognized and approved institutions for the following purposes: • •

Exemptions from courses within a UCC Bachelor of Science programme. Advanced standing for courses within a UCC Bachelor of Science programme.

An exemption is awarded without credit and a student receiving an exemption from a particular course is normally required to complete a different course to satisfy the total credit requirements of the particular programme of study. Advanced standing is awarded with course credit and applied to the programme of study to which a student applied for admission. Credits used for entry to the institution will not be considered for further exemptions from other courses in a programme of study subsequent to the initial review and grant of admission. • Procedure for applying for Transfer Credits/Exemptions/Advanced Standing: Candidates applying for (a) transfer credits, (b) course exemptions or (c) advanced standing must complete the appropriate: (i) Request for Transfer of Credit/Course Exemption Form and pay the prescribed fee at the time of submitting the form to UCC. Note: Requests for official transcripts of grades and relevant course outlines should be forwarded to the Registrar, University College of the Caribbean. All documents must be received within the first two weeks of the commencement of classes. Requests will not be processed until official transcripts of grades, relevant course outlines and any other required documents are received.
