Programmes offered Programmes Offered A UCC bachelor’s degree opens doors for rewarding careers in business, information technology and more. Select from one of our undergraduate degree programmes: Business Administration The Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration offers a broad range of professional courses and activities designed to provide an effective foundation for organizational administration and leadership. Students gain knowledge of the contemporary dynamics of modern organizational processes and systems and explore in depth critical areas such as accounting and financial management, marketing, human resource management, management information systems, economics, strategic management and entrepreneurship, among others. Information Technology The Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology prepares students to be able to understand the impact of information systems in organizations and provide information support for decision making. To this end, a solid foundation is given in the design, use and management of database and telecommunications technology. The programme may be completed in full-time study or part-time study. Students may terminate after two years full-time or two and a half years part time, with an Associate of Science degree in Management Information Systems.

Programmes offered Programmes Offered Human Resource Management The Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management has a strong theoretical base but uses hands-on techniques and applications to operationalize the conceptual framework and build the competencies of the HR practitioner. Marketing The Bachelor’s in Marketing degree offers a broad range of business activities. These include strategic decisions concerning the identification and selection of target markets, the development, pricing, placement and promotion of goods and services and the management of relations among business partners and customers. Students also gain knowledge of the contemporary dynamics of marketing, but also explore in more depth, selected areas such as sales, advertising, distribution/logistics as well as international markets. Graduates of this programme are qualified for positions in sales, middle management and marketing research and for graduate or professional education. A UCC undergraduate degree creates opportunities for graduate studies in: • UCC Commonwealth Executive Masters of Business Administration • UCC Commonwealth Executive Masters of Public Administration

UCC Online UCC Online responds to the growing number of students who are eager to earn their college degrees but who require more flexibility than the traditional on-campus courses. UCC Online uses a blended approach, i.e. a mix of both online and on-campus teaching, for the delivery of its degree programmes; in some territories, a full online (except for examinations) programme may be the only option available.


Admission AdmissionRequirements Requirements UCC Bachelor of Science Degree Programmes (4 years)* Basic Entry Level: UCC requires applicants to possess a minimum of five (5) subjects in the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) General Proficiency Level or General Certificate of Education (GCE) at grades 1, 2, 3 or A, B, C. Subjects must include Mathematics and English. A CXC pass at level 3 must have been obtained since 1998. *Years 1 & 2 of the Bachelor of Science degree is also known as Associate of Science Degree. Matriculation to the Upper Level (Years 3 & 4) Entry at this level is contingent on applicants possessing 60 transferable credits of prescribed courses from a recognized institution. Please note that possessing an associate degree or diploma does not guarantee automatic entry to UCC. Prior qualifications will be assessed to determine the equivalence and relevance of the degree or diploma to the UCC programme for which candidates have applied. English Language Proficiency: If you are from a country or institution where English is not your first language of instruction, you must demonstrate English proficiency in TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). A minimum score of 500 is required. UCC reserves the right to request that candidates complete its own English Language Proficiency test in addition to the TOEFL test.

Preparing application Preparingyour your application 1. Choose the programme you’d like to study. 2. Review the admission requirements. 3. Apply online at www.ucc.edu.jm before the deadline. Ensure all your contact information, including email address, is included and correct. 4. Submit required documents. To complete your application, you must submit the following documentation: a) Official transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary institutions that you have attended. These must be sent directly from each institution in a sealed envelope. b) Proof of English Language proficiency (if applicable). All credentials must be official, original documents or notarized, attested copies of the original. Applicants may ask the Ministry of Education to certify copies of original documents. Where documents are notarized, a stamp or seal must appear on the photocopy, along with the date and information pertaining to the Notary Public (name, title, and address).

Successful Applicants! Successful Applicants! Acknowledgement Once your application has been processed, UCC will send you a notification by email and a student reference number. Please use this number to check the status of your application. Accept the offer Once you receive your offer letter, you need to accept by returning your completed “Acceptance Slip” via email to registry@ucc.edu.jm. Read your offer letter carefully and check for any conditions. If you choose to not accept the offer, or defer your offer to a later date, please state so and return by email to registry@ucc.edu.jm. Register online If you choose to accept the offer and complete the Acceptance Slip, you will then be issued an eight-digit Identification Number. Your next step will be to visit the UCC website, click on the Aeorion link (our Student Management System) to activate your Student Account and register for courses. Enter your user name (which is your ID Number for Students e.g. 20010101) and password (your date of birth indicated in figures only and in the order of month/day/ year). The system will prompt you to change your password. This will become your unique password. For students who have already activated your account, please enter your password and click either ‘Login’ or press ‘Enter’. Pay your fees The tuition cost for years 1 & 2 of the bachelor’s degree is US$5,400 per programme. The tuition cost for years 2 & 3 of the bachelor’s degree is also US$5,400 per programme. Students must make arrangements with UCC Students Financial Services (SFS) by calling 1-876-935-0954 to finalize the month, term or annual payment options. Payments can only be made online by credit card. UCC provided me with the opportunity to make a difference in my community and in my life. 5
