Rusalka
Mary Stuart is an opera that makes history. At its heart is a fictional clash between Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots in the lead up to Mary’s execution. It’s one of the most dramatic and affecting works by Donizetti (The Elixir of Love). With the supercharged pairing of Sarah Connolly (Mary) and Antonia Cifrone (Elizabeth) battling it out as the rival queens, fireworks are forecast.
Dvor˘ák’s opera is a tale of innocence and experience, disappointment and the transcendent power of love. The water nymph Rusalka yearns to be part of the human world in order to be with her prince. But in order to do so, she is forced to make a terrible sacrifice. The hauntingly beautiful score is famed for Rusalka’s poignant Song to the Moon, and this production is altogether a spellbinding experience.

Leave your car at home and use the bus or tram to get to the Theatre Royal or Concert Hall with a £1 return Royal Ticket. Royal Tickets are valid on all Nottingham City Transport buses within the Greater Nottingham City area* and from all tram stops from Hucknall and Phoenix Park, to Station Street and back again. Your ticket is valid until the last bus or tram at midnight, so there’s plenty of time for a drink in our Green Room Bar after the show. So add a Royal Ticket when you next buy your tickets by phone or in person at our Box Office, and don’t worry if you forget as you can always call us later and add one to your booking. Unfortunately there is currently no facility to buy Royal Tickets online, so give us a call on 0115 989 5555 if you’d like to add one to your booking. Access Performances
Access Information Physical Access Wheelchair spaces are located in the Stalls of both the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall. If it is desired, or necessary, patrons may advise us of type of impairment and the size of the wheelchair (if applicable). Scooters and larger size wheelchairs may require an allocation of two ‘standard’ size wheelchair spaces. Please discuss your requirements when booking. As part of the ongoing refurbishment works, two additional wheelchair spaces and a disabled toilet have been created on Tier 1 of the Royal Concert Hall. There is a lift in the Royal Concert Hall that services all levels. Currently we have no lift facility in the Theatre Royal. However, in 2010 we are focusing our attentions on the Theatre Royal and investigating the possibility of a lift.

Leave your car at home and use the bus or tram to get to the theatre. Buy a £1 travel ticket redeemable at all tram stops and on all Nottingham City bus routes. See page 30 inside for further information.

Car
