WELCOME We’ve had a very busy winter! Our Your Point brings you a newly refurbished Studio Theatre without a pillar in the middle of the room! Over the next year this space will become an important hub at the centre of our building for wellbeing focused classes in the daytime, and an inspiring creative space for the young people of Eastleigh to come and make theatre, as well as a home for family shows and comedy nights to boot. We are thrilled to have been working with artist Jo Fairfax on some interesting surprises inside and outside of the building – see if you can spot a moving YOU somewhere. All of this has been possible with capital support from Arts Council England to take us into the future and bring you more

brilliant work that moves our audiences. Some awe inspiring dance is on the menu with Olivier Award winning Botis Seva and his compelling work, BLKDOG, and the return of favourites 2Faced Dance with what will be a stirring triple bill. With a packed line up of theatre, family shows, comedy and socials in our Foyer, as well as a raft of participation classes, we’re looking forward to offering pure escapism from real life!

DAVID GLASS ENSEMBLE DEVISED THEATRE – CREATIVE RETREAT · THE POINT, EASTLEIGH’S CREATION SPACE Devised physical theatre now sits at the heart of modern theatre practice. The Point is delighted to be working with the David Glass Ensemble and London International Mime Festival to host this five day intensive workshop in our light-filled Creation Space. Central to this week will be the performers as collaborative makers of total theatre. The participants will explore the tools of eliciting, image creation, emergence, story structure and theme, to develop skills in the making of original and authentic theatre. David will introduce his five-stage Creative Practice used by many theatre companies worldwide including Gecko (UK) and Theatre Ash (Hong Kong). It sets out a clear framework for allowing self-led companies to develop visceral and robust work. David’s approach to teaching is provocative, playful, challenging and rigorous. There will be the additional opportunity of an artist’s dinner and to share work informally in the evenings. This intensive is for people with some previous performance experience, either as theatre students or professionals.

A sort of funny national edition of Who Do You Think You Are? Mark says, “Look, I have been doing this for 34 years. I have gone from stand-up to theatre and half way back again. It’s another slightly odd show, a sort of sweary, History Channel with laughs and creative mischief.” “If you’ve seen my shows before, this one is going to be a show in the vein of 100 Acts of Minor Dissent.”
