elcome to the best season on Cape Cod and the best fashion season of the year. I know that’s an incredibly subjective statement, but I am a little excited for a little chill in the air, quiet beaches, and autumn colors, as well as the opportunity to wear sweaters and boots and fashion scarves. In this issue we are showing you the season’s most popular trends along with our favorite fashion statements from shops across the Cape, and we are also sharing some of the incomparable creations from a number of our local jewelry makers.

RUN WAY RUNDOWN Ever hear a fashion buzz word and wonder what the heck the stylists are talking about? Here is your guide to the trends of the season.
Hemline Side Slits
Side slits on skirts, dresses and even straight leg pants were ever ywhere on the fall 2018/winter 2019 runways. And while some slits might feel a bit awkward, we have found the slight side slits of the season bring a sexy element to what can otherwise be a modest look.
Fabric Tweed
Although it never went out of fashion for design houses like Chanel, everyone is dabbling in tweed this fall fashion season. You’ll see the fabric in the form of classic coats and pencil skirts, but it’s also making an appearance in more modern styles, as well as accents on sneakers, clutches, and jewelry.

Style Prairie
Perhaps it is the influence of shows like HBO’s Westworld and AMC’s Preacher or we’re all just feeling ruffles and feminine details for yet another season, but Prairie styles that feature these as well as high necks, lots of fabric and detailed sleeves are sure to make their way into your closet this fall.
Detail Layers
One of the biggest trends of the fall 2018/winter 2019 fashion trends is styling with multiple layers. This trend includes both the oversized and deconstructed, as well as many slim layers to carry warmer weather clothing into the cooler seasons. It also means you might see tunics thrown over pants instead of slim leggings or a turtleneck under a long flowing dress.
