Welcome to HouseHunter, our local property & lifestyle magazine... As we slip gently into Spring we extend a warmer welcome to the March edition of our HouseHunter magazine. As ever, you will find a selection of some of the properties available, both for sale and to let, across our network of local offices. The frantic activity in the sales market continues as we saw a 34% increase in the number of sales we agreed in February compared to the same period last year. Lettings have also been customarily busy and yet we have also found time for some interesting training. As a ‘people business’ development is important to us, so in partnership with some excellent local providers we have held in-house sessions on professional writing, photography, social media and even a bespoke management course. As the market continues to get more sophisticated we strongly believe that such skills are essential in providing the best possible service to our clients. Middle Eastern salad (serves 4)

250g cherry tomatoes 100g semi-dried tomatoes in olive oil 10 green grapes 10 red grapes 150g Feta 2 small Pitta breads 60g shelled, unsalted pistachios 1/2 cucumber Handful basil leaves Dressing 60ml Olive oil Zest and juice of 1 lemon 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard A pinch of sugar Salt and pepper 1. In a large mixing bowl, assemble the following: Cherry tomatoes - some halved, some kept whole. Semi dried tomatoes (if large, sliced into strips) Whole green grapes and halved red grapes. Feta cheese cut into smaller cubes, reserving a few pieces to crumble over the top at the end. Pitta bread, toasted in an electric toaster and torn into bite size pieces. Pistachio nuts. Cucumber, halved length-ways, deseeded using a teaspoon and cut into small cubes. 2. Combine all ingredients for the dressing and pour over the salad. Toss well. 3. Arrange on a beautiful platter . Decorate with basil leaves and crumble remaining pieces of Feta on top and serve.

ABOUT CAMBRIDGE BIKE TOURS Cambridge Bike Tours is the brainchild of Anthony Dean. Anthony is a former King’s College Choir School pupil and is a major cycling enthusiast who has competed in triathlons all over the world. His family has lived in Cambridge for 100s of years. We cater for all ages and abilities. It doesn’t matter if you are a single traveller, a family, romantic couple or even a hen party, you are going to have a great time. OUR BIKES We generally use modern mountain bikes (ProBike Escape) as they are solid and comfortable, however we also have antique British bicycles. There’s no need to be particularly fit as we take a leisurely ambling pace to really soak up the atmosphere. However, if you feel like you could do with a boost, we can certainly recommend one of our seriously modern electric bikes (pictured centre below) and then you’ll be the fastest in the group!

OUR TOURS The 2013 season will run from 9th March until 4th November. Tours take place every day of the week except Tuesdays. Private Tours are available all year round by arrangement. All our tours are in English as standard but Private Tours are available in numerous other languages, including Mandarin, upon request. Full Day Tour (5 ½ hours, starting at 10:30am. Approximately 8 miles ... but at a leisurely pace) Once you’ve done this tour you’ve really seen Cambridge! This tour combines both the City and Grantchester Tours (full details of these tours are available on our website), however we also stop for lunch by the river as a group. The City part of the tour covers most of the sights, taking in Midsummer Common, the Round Church (one of only four in the UK), Trinity Great Gate, The Backs, The Best Spot to take that iconic photo of King’s College Chapel, King’s Parade, Corpus Christi Clock and Mill Pond to name just a few! We then head out of the City through the fens towards the village of Grantchester to enjoy the river, The Orchard Tea Gardens and The Old Vicarage (previously the home of the poet Rupert Brooke and now the home of the author Jeffrey Archer). It’s then time to sit down for either a cream tea or a pint in a very local British Pub, where we play the oldest recorded pub game called ‘ringing the bull’ (your drink could be free if you manage to beat the tour guide at this game). There’s a free Rupert Brooke museum we pop into before we head back into the City, finishing at about 4pm.
