UMUTLUYUZ WE ARE HOPEFUL Hello My Dear Colleagues,

Merhaba Değerli Meslektaşlarım, 2016 yılının son iki ayına geldik.

Kalan günlerin en iyi şekilde değerlendirileceği, bir yandan da 2017 ve sonrası planlamaların, son gözden geçirmelerin yapılacağı zaman diliminin içindeyiz.

2016 beklenmedik olaylarla tarihin sayfaları içinde yerini alacak. Hele bir 15 Temmuz yaşadık ki, mazimizde böyle bir gün yok. Dileriz bu olayları bir daha hiçbir nesil yaşamaz.

Hal böyle olunca, yapılan hesaplar değişiyor. 2015 sonunda yaşanan Rusya krizi, güneydoğu sınırlarımızın hemen ötesinde yaşanan çatışmalar, terör örgütlerinin hain saldırıları, 2016’ya dair hafızamızda kalacak olan olaylar.

Dünya ekonomisini baktığımızda, son birkaç yıldır yaşanan yavaş büyüme ortamı, ekonomide normalleşmenin biraz daha zaman alacağını düşündürüyor. Ekonomistlerin beklentisi, 2017 yılının, aşağı yönlü risklerin arttığı ve normalleşme ümidi açısından daha az güven veren bir yıl olacağı yönünde. Dünya Bankası, 2017 ve 2018 yıllarına ilişkin küresel büyüme beklentilerini aşağı yönlü revize etti.

Ne mutlu bize ki; Türkiye bütün bu olumsuz dünya verilerine rağmen, gelişen ekonomiler arasında, hala büyüme cazibesini devam ettirebilen; tek haneli enflasyon ortamının devam ettiği ancak risklerin kontrol altında tutulabildiği nadir ülkelerden biri. Bütçe dengeleri devam edebilecek gibi ve 2017’de de sürdürülebilir ekonomik yapıya sahip gözüküyor.

Küresel koşullara bakıldığında 2017

yılının çok daha fazla çalışmamız gereken bir yıl olacağı belli. Planlarımızı doğru yapmalıyız. Türk Ev Tekstilinin dünyada ki imajı son derece olumlu, bunu değerlendirmeliyiz. Yurt dışı teşvikler incelendiğinde, Devletin ihracatçıya verdiği imkânlar hiç de küçümsenmeyecek düzeyde. Temel eksikliklerimiz olarak düşündüğümüz; markalaşma, tanıtım, arge, inovasyon, tasarım ve daha pek çok alanda ihracatçı şirketlere, çok önemli fırsatlar tanınıyor.

Türk Ev Tekstili, dünyada güçlü ve bilinçle talep edilen bir sektör.

26 – 29 Ekim tarihleri arasında tamamladığımız Home&Tex fuarında da bu tespitimiz perçinlendi. Rus ziyaretçilerimizin geri dönüşleri, Avrupalı dostlarımızın tekrar güvenle fuarımızı ziyaretleri, geleceğe yönelik iyimserliğimizi arttırdı.

Yakın coğrafya komşularımız olan Yunanistan, İran, Azerbeycan ve Körfez ülkelerinden gelen misafirlerimizde bize ziyaretleriyle destek verdiler. Beklentilerimizin oldukça üstünde bir fuar yaşadık.

Bu fuardan aldığımız mesajlar; Rusya gibi önemli bir pazar tekrar kazanıldı. Avrupalı alıcılar tekrar Türkiye’ye gelmeye başladılar.

Komşularımızın büyük çoğunluğu ile ilişkilerde eski olumlu düzeye dönüldü. Sıkıntılı dönemde başlayan yeni pazarlar arayışları olumlu sonuçlar vermeye başladı.

Sözün özü; Biz koşulları biliyor ve ona göre çalışıyoruz. Her yeni günle birlikte geleceğe yönelik umutlarımızı güçlendiriyoruz. Çünkü umutlu olmamızı gerektiren çok fazla özelliğe sahip bir ülkenin insanlarıyız.

Hepinize sağlıklı, mutlu bir yılsonu dönemi diliyorum.

It is the last two months of 2016 and the remaining days will be used in the best way and our plans for 2017 will be evaluated for the last time.

2016 will take its place in the pages of history with its many unexpected incidents. The most memorable was the event we experienced on 15th July. We hope that none of the future generations experience these incidents’ again.

The Russian crisis happened at the end of 2015, the conflicts right next to our southeastern borders, and multiple attacks from terrorist organizations; are the incidents that will remain in our minds from 2016.

When we look at the world economy, the environment of slow growth, we have experienced for the past few years, makes us think that normalization in the economy will take a little more time than first expected.

According to economists, 2017 will be a year that downside risks will increase, and it will be a less promising year. The World Bank revised the global growth expectations for 2017 and 2018 downwardly.

How happy for us that; in despite of this negative world data, Turkey is among the rare countries, which is among the developing countries, still continuing its growth, a single digit inflation rate is still valid and the risks are kept under control. It seems that the budget balance will continue and it will also have a sustainable economic structure in 2017. This is the prediction for Turkey in 2017.

When we check the global conditions, it is obvious that 2017 will be

a year that we need more work. We have to plan correctly. The world’s image of Turkish Home Textile is pretty positive, and so we have to use this. When we check the foreign subsidies, the opportunities given to the exporters by our government cannot be underestimated. It provides very important opportunities to the export companies in many areas, which include: branding, publicity, R&D, innovation, design etc...

Turkish Home Textile is a strong sector in the world and it is demanded with awareness. Home&Tex fair, that took place on October 26th – 29th, strengthened our determination. The feedbacks from our Russian visitors, revisits from our European friends, increased our optimism towards future. Close geographical neighbors such as Greece, Iran, Azerbaijan and the Gulf Countries supported us with their visits. The fair exceeded our expectations.

The messages that we received from these fairs; an important market such as Russia has been regained. The European buyers have started to visit Turkey again. Our relations with most of our neighbors are back to their old positive levels. New market research, made in this troubled period, has started to give positive results.

Briefly, we know the conditions and we work accordingly. We strengthen our hopes toward the future. Because, we are the people of a country which has many features that require us to be hopeful.

I wish a healthy and happy year-end period to all of you.

Yaz sırasını savdı ve yerini sonbahara bıraktı. Kışsa artık kapıda. Tatiller bitti okullar açıldı, hepimiz eve döndük.

Yani hayatımızın merkezine. Günün tüm yorgunluğundan sıyrıldığımız, dinlendiğimiz hatta şehrin tüm kaosundan kaçıp saklandığımız yere... Yaz başlarken tüm kalın kumaşlardan, kış dokularından sıyrılmış evimizi sadeleştirmiştik şimdiyse ısınma vakti.

Summer is gone and now it is autumn. Winter is about to arrive. The holidays are over, we are all back home. In other words, to the center of our lives. It is the place where we leave the exhaustion of the day, get rest and we even hide escaping from the chaos of the city…We left all thick fabrics and winter patterns at the beginning of summer and simplified our Kasım November 2016 HOMETEXTILE

TREND Kış Hazırlığının Temeli Doku

Evleri mevsimle bütünleştirirken aslında çok büyük değişiklikler veya alışverişlere gerek yok. Küçük hareketlerle ve eklemelerle yaşam alanlarımızda sıcacık bir atmosfer sağlamamız mümkün. Böylece kışı keyifle ve sevgiyle karşılamış oluruz. Bu değişikliklerin temeliyse ev tekstili ve tekstil eşyalarının dokuları. Artık ketenler, ince kumaşlar, açık ve pastel renkler yerlerini yünlere, örgülere, keçelere kalın dokulara bırakıyor.

Yaz geldiğinde ilk iş halıları kaldırıyoruz veya tüm kış bizi ısıtan halıları ince kilimler veya doğal dokulu yazlık halılarla değiştiriyoruz. Şimdi, yazlık-kışlık kıyafet değişiklikleri ve kışa hazırlık temizlikleri bittiyse halıları kalktıkları yerden çıkarmanın da vakti geldi demektir.

Ben koltuklarımda veya yataklarda bolca minder kullanmayı seviyorum.

Yaz geldiğinde kış dokulu olanları kaldırıp ketenlere ve pastel tonlara yöneliyorum. Şimdiyse daha koyu tonlar ve kalın kumaşlar kanepemdeki yerlerini aldılar. İşlem çok kolay, sadece yazlık kılıflar çıkıp yerlerini kışlık olanlara bırakıyorlar.

Bu küçücük hareket salona bir anda kışın enerjisini ve sıcacık ev atmosferini taşıyor. İnanın, bu evle birlikte kendimizi de mevsime adapte etmek ve psikolojik olarak hazırlanmak için iyi bir yöntem.

Gelelim yatak odalarına.

Minder değişiklikleri tabii ki evin tüm odaları için geçerli. Yaz geldiğinde ince nevresimler, pikeler ve keten dokulu yatak örtüleri dolaplardan çıkmıştı. Evler bir anda ferahlamış, arınmıştı. Şimdi onları lavanta kokulu raflarına yeniden kaldırırken rafları ısıtan kışlık dokuları çıkarıp onlara sarmalanma zamanı geldi. Yatağınızın üzerine uzandığınızda yumuşacık bir örtüyü hissetmek veya katlanmış sizi bekleyen bir battaniyeye sarınmak kışın olmazsa olmazı. Fikri bile içinizi ısıtmıyor mu?

The Basic Of The Winter Preparation: Texture

Indeed, there is no need for major changes or shopping while integrating our homes to the seasons. It is possible to create a warm atmosphere in our living spaces with small movements and additions. Thereby, we can greet winter with pleasure and love. The basic of these changes is home textile and textures of the textile products. Now, linen, thin fabrics, light and pastel colors leave their places to be replaced by wools, knitting, mats and thick textures.

When summer arrives, the first thing we do is put our thick warm winter carpets aside and replace them with thin rugs or summer carpets with natural textures. Now, changing our summer-winter clothes and winter preparation cleaning is over, it’s the time to put the carpets back to their places.

I like using a lot of cushions on my sofas and beds.

When summer arrives, I put winter textured ones aside and choose linen and pastel shades. Now, the ones with dark shades and thick fabrics have taken their places on my sofa. The process is very easy, summer covers are removed and winter covers are put on.

This very little movement carries the energy of the winter and the warm home energy to the living room. Believe me, it is a good method to adapt ourselves to the season and getting psychologically ready for the cold.

Let’s move on to the bedrooms. The change of the cushions is valid for the entire home. When summer arrived, thin beddings and bed covers with linen texture were out of the closet and onto our beds. The homes were immediately freshened and purified. Now it is the time to take winter textures out adding a lavender scent to them, which warms the shelves. It is essential for winter to feel a downy cover when we lie on the bed or covering yourselves with a folded blanket. Do you feel warmer even by the idea of this?

Sıcak Köşeler Tasarlayın

Kışlık dokular artık çıktığına göre size önerim eve döndüğünüzde sizi bekleyen, sarmalayacak köşeler tasarlamanız.

Bu, bitkilerinizin yanında bir oturma köşesi veya sıcak minderiyle sizi bekleyen bir çalışma sandalyesi bile olabilir. Yeter ki sizi mutlu etsin.

Bitkilerinizin yanında konumlanan bir koltuğun kenarına sepetle koyacağınız battaniye, koltuk şalı ve kitabınıza eşlik eden sıcacık bir çay o köşeyi huzura dönüştürebilir. Örneğin ben salonda, çalışma odamda, mutfaktaki oturma bölümünde hatta yatak odasında küçük battaniyeler bulundurmayı seviyorum. Böylece ister ben ister misafirlerim hemen bir kedi gibi köşemize kıvrılıp keyif yapabiliyoruz.

Not: Koku evin karakterini belirleyen önemli etkenlerden. Bu çoğu zaman ihmal edilse de tercihen doğal veya doğala en yakın mumlar ve oda kokuları psikolojimiz için de önemli unsurlar ve bence eve çok yakışıyorlar.

Kapıdaki mevsim kış olduğuna göre size en iyi hissettiren ama biraz da kışı anımsatan kokular evinize de size de iyi gelecektir. Bergamot, tarçın, vanilya hatta turunçgiller benim favorilerim. Ama tabii önemli olan sizin kendi kokunuzu bulmanız.

Note: The scent is among the important elements that define the character of a home. However it is ignored most of the time, preferably natural scented candles or the ones that smell natural, are important elements for our psychology and I think that they suit homes very well during this season.

As winter is about to arrive, the scents that make you feel better and remind us that winter will be good both for you and your home include; Bergamot, cinnamon, vanilla and even citrus. Of course, the important thing is finding your own scent.

Design Warm Corners

As the winter textures are out, my suggestion is designing corners which wait to cover you when you are back home. This might be a sitting corner next to your plants or even a working chair waiting for you with its warm cushions. As long as it makes you happy.

Putting a blanket, a sofa shawl or a cup of tea beside your book in a basket next to the sofa can convert that corner to a peace one. For example, I like to keep small blankets in the living room, workroom, sitting section of the kitchen even in the bedroom.

Banyoların her zaman diğer odalar gibi düzenlenmesinden yanayım. Neden onlar evin en soğuk köşesi olarak kalsın? Bir sepete dergiler koyun, bir köşeye sıcacık mumlar ve tabii peştemal ve incecik havlular rafa kalkıp yerine biraz daha kalın havlular gelsin. Siz de benim gibi yünlü ve daha kalın paspasları kaldırdıysanız şimdi çıkarmanın tam vakti.

Bırakın banyonuz da sizi ısıtsın ve dinlendirsin.

Kendi küçük “spa”nızı tasarlamanız bu kadar kolay.

What About The Bathroom?

I always think that the bathrooms should be organized like the other rooms. Why should they stay cold when everwhere else is warm? Put magazines in a basket and warm candles in the corner and of course, thin towels are replaced with thicker towels. If you also put the wool and thicker mats aside, it is the time to put them back. Let your bathroom get you warmer and soothe you. It is that easy to design your own SPA.

35. ULUSLARARASI İSTANBUL KİTAP FUARI 35TH INTERNATIONAL İSTANBUL BOOK FAIR TÜYAP Tüm Fuarcılık Yapım A.Ş. tarafından Türkiye Yayıncılar Birliği işbirliği ile düzenlenecek 35. Uluslararası İstanbul Kitap Fuarı,12-20 Kasım 2016 tarihleri arasında “Felsefe ve İnsan” ana temasıyla kapılarını kitapseverlere açıyor. Bu yıl 35. kez yapılacak olan İstanbul Kitap Fuarı’na yurt içi ve yurt dışından 800’ün üzerinde yayınevi ve sivil toplum kuruluşu katılacak. Fuar boyunca 50’den fazlası çocuklara yönelik olmak üzere, 300’e yakın kültür etkinliği düzenlenecek. TÜYAP Fuar ve Kongre MerkeziBüyükçekmece’de yapılacak olan İstanbul Kitap Fuarı, yurt dışından pek çok değerli yazarı ve şairi konuk edecek. Fuarın bu yılki “Onur Yazarı” ise Prof. Dr. Ioanna Kuçuradi. Fuar süresince Kuçuradi’nin yaşamı ve eserleri üzerine, kendisinin de katılımıyla çeşitli paneller ve etkinlikler düzenlenecek.

26’ncı Uluslararası İstanbul Sanat Fuarı / ARTIST 2016 ile eş zamanlı gerçekleştirilecek fuarın onur konuğu ise Almanya.

The 35th International İstanbul Book Fair is organized by TÜYAP Fair and Exhibition Center with the collaboration of the Turkish Publishers Association. Opening its doors to all book-lovers from 12th – 20th November with the main theme of “Philosophy and the Human”. The İstanbul Book Fair is being organized for the 35th time this year and more than 800 domestic and international publishing firms and non-governmental organizations will participate. Almost 300 cultural events will be organized during the fair, with more than 50 of them for children. The İstanbul Book Fair will be in TÜYAP Fair and Exhibition Center – Büyükçekmece as it will host many accomplished and recognized writers and poets from abroad. “The Honour Writer” of the fair this year is, Prof.

Dr. Ioanna Kuçuradi. Panels and events will be organized about Kuçuradi’s life and works with her own participation. The fair is organized simultaneously with the İstanbul Art Fair / ARTIST 2016 and the honour guest is Germany.

Kışsa korunma. Bana sorarsanız mevsimlik ortak olarak kullanılan terlikler vb. eşyalar dışında sıcak dokulu terlikler, kalın sabahlıklar, kış dokulu ev kıyafetlerini çıkarmanın veya bu anlamda küçük bir alışverişe çıkmanın da tam vakti.

Note: Summer comes to us with the feeling of getting rid of the extras. Winter comes with the feeling of protection. If you ask me, besides slippers and similar clothes that are, seasonably common, it is the time to take the slippers with warm textures, thick wraps, home clothes with winter textures out and go out for a small shopping trip.

38.VODAFONE İSTANBUL MARATONU 38TH VODAFONE İSTANBUL MARATHON 13 Kasım tarihinde düzenlenecek olan 38. Vodafone İstanbul Maratonu için geri sayım başladı. 42K, 15K, 10K, Halk Koşusu gibi farklı farklı kategorilerde yapılacak Maraton’a, profesyonel atletlerin yanı sıra her yaştan insan da katılabiliyor. Geçen yıl olduğu gibi bu yıl da on binlerce kişinin katılması beklenen İstanbul Maratonu’nda birçok sivil toplum örgütü ve dernek için de yardım toplanması planlanıyor. The countdown has started for the 38th Vodafone İstanbul Marathon that is taking place on the 13th November. The marathon will be organized in different categories such as; 42K, 15K, 10K, and a Fun Run. People from any age can participate in the races beside the professional athletes. Ten thousand people are expected to participate in the İstanbul Marathon and collections are planned for the charities and nongovernmental organizations. BELCANTO THE LUCIANO PAVAROTTI HERITAGE BELCANTO THE LUCIANO PAVAROTTI HERITAGE Müziğin farklı türlerini harmanlayan, yüzyılları aşıp günümüze dek gelen müzikal tiyatro şovu “Belcanto the Lucıano Pavarotti Heritage”, 17 ve 18 Aralık tarihlerinde Volkswagen Arena’da sahne alacak. İzleyiciyi büyülemesi beklenen müzikalde 12 şarkıcı, 7 müzisyen ve 7 dansçı yer alacak. Franco Dragone’nun küratörlüğünü üstlendiği müzikalde Belcanto’nun tarihine damga vuran “Rönesans’tan Barok’a Belcanto”, “ 18.yy’ dan İtalyan ve Avrupa güldürücü operası”, “Giuseppe Verdi”, “Giacomo Pucini”, “Neapolitan şarkısı” ve “Dünyadan Belcanto” olmak üzere altı ana tema sahnelenecek. Opera aryaları, orijinal performansları ile Napoliten şarkılar ve İtalyan Belcanto stili ile düzenlenmiş çağdaş kompozisyonlar sunan gösteri, son yüzyılın en ünlü tenoru Luciana Pavarotti’nin mirasına saygı duruşu niteliğindedir.

“Belcanto the Luciano Pavarotti Heritage”, which blends various kinds of music. This event will take place at the Volkswagen Area on 17th and 18th December . The musical is expected to fascinate the audience andwill consist of 12 singers, 7 musicians and 7 dancers. The curatorship of the musical is undertaken by, Franco Dragone and 6 main themes will be put on the stage which marks the history of Belcanto; “The origins of Belcanto, from Renaissance to Baroque”, “The Opera Buffa in the Italian and European 18th century”, “Giuseppe Verdi”, “Giacomo Puccini”, The Neapolitan Song” and “The Belcanto in the world”. The show offers opera arias and original performances with the modern compositions staged with the Neopolitans Songs and Italian Belconto Style as it is a stand in silence to the heritage of the most famous tenor of the last century, Luciana Pavarotti.

Rusya’dan gelen bine yakın alıcıyı fuarda ağırladıklarını belirten TETSİAD Başkanı Ali Sami Aydın, “Organizasyonumuza Ruslar akın ettiler. Bizi tercih etmelerinin en büyük nedeni kreatif ürünlere sahip olmamızdır. Home&Tex Fuarı ile Ruslar yeni ürünlere ulaşma fırsatı yakaladı. Bu fuar amacına ulaşmış ve sektörümüze hareketlilik getirmiştir. Fuar ile birlikte sektöre milyar doların üzerinde ticaret hacmi oluştuğunu düşünüyoruz. Sadece Ruslarla yapılan görüşmeler bile ciddi bir iş hacmi oluşturacak. Aydın, Türkiye’nin birlik ve beraberliğe çok ihtiyaç duyduğu bu günlerde, fuarın ülke sorunlarına ilaç gibi geldiğini ifade ederek, Home&Tex’in sektör ihracatını ve iç piyasayı hareketlendiren iyi bir organizasyon olduğunu söyledi.

Individual foreign buyers had business connections with companies participating in the Home&Tex Fair via the procurement committees. The number of foreign visitors who attended the fair was higher than expected. The companies, who saw Turkey’s power on design and innovative products, placed sizeable orders. The fair also saw a large number of visitors from the Arab countries, in particular Jordan, Palestine, Egypt and Amman. The procurement committees for the Arab countries were amazed by the high quality of Turkish home textile products.

Dört yıl gibi kısa bir sürede dünyanın önemli ev tekstili ve dekorasyon fuarlarından biri haline gelen Home&Tex Fuarı, bu yıl da CNR EXPO Yeşilköy’de yapıldı. Yurtiçi ve yurtdışından binlerce kişinin ziyaret ettiği ve sektörün yoğun katılımıyla gerçekleştirilen fuarda, 1 milyar doları aşan iş hacmine ulaşıldı.

Yabancı Ziyaretçiler Fuarı Zenginleştirdi

Yerli – yabancı, 600’den fazla markaya ev sahipliği yapan Home&Tex Fuarında, pek çok ülkeden gelen profesyonel ziyaretçinin yoğun ilgisiyle karşılaşıldı. Türki Cumhuriyetler, Rusya, Orta Doğu ve Avrupa ülkelerinin yanı sıra Kuzey Afrika’dan da fuara nitelikli ziyaretçinin gelmesi katılımcıların yüzünü güldürdü. Fuara gelen alım heyetleri ile bireysel yabancı alıcılar, Home&Tex’in katılımcı firmalarıyla iş bağlantıları kurdu. Fuarın yabancı ziyaretçi sayısı beklentilerin de üzerine çıktı. Türkiye’nin tasarım ve inovatif ürünlerdeki gücünü fuarda gören yabancı alıcılar, yüklü miktarda siparişler verdi. Fuar, Arap ülkelerinden gelen ziyaretçi yoğunluğuyla da dikkat çekti. Ürdün, Filistin, Mısır ve Umman başta olmak üzere, pek çok ülkeden gelen alım heyetleri, Türk ev tekstili ürünlerinin yüksek kalitesine hayran kaldı.

Türkiye’nin tasarım ve inovatif ürünlerdeki gücünü fuarda gören yabancı alıcılar, yüklü miktarda siparişler verdi.

The companies, who saw Turkey’s power on design and innovative products, placed sizeable orders.

The chairman of the board of TETSİAD, Ali Sami Aydın, indicated that they hosted almost a thousand visitors from Russia and said; “Russians swarmed to our organization. The biggest reason is; we have creative products. Russians had the opportunity of reaching new products via Home&Tex fair. This fair reached its goal and brought liveliness to our sector. We think that because of the fair the sector achieved a trade volume of more than one billion Dollars.

Even, the meetings with Russian visitors who attended the fair will create a significant increase in business volume”. Aydın also said that, this fair was like a cure for the problems Turkey is currently facing, in a time when Turkey needs unity and solidarity, Home&Tex is a good fair that increases exports of the sector and additionally improves our domestic market.

The products exhibited at the fair; which is organized by the participation of leading companies in the sector, received a huge interest. Besides the already popular inflammable and air-cleaning products were the elegant and useful products that appeal to pleasure, were a hit this year. The fair took place in the CNR EXPO which is a 40 thousand square metre area, all home textile and decoration products were exhibited together showcasing curtains to upholstery fabrics, sleep and bedroom products to decoration products, wall covers to ground covers. Those who participated in the fair had a chance to closely see the latest developments and trends of the home textile and decoration world.

Sektörde öncü firmaların katılımıyla gerçekleşen fuarda sergilenen ürünler büyük ilgi gördü. Yanmayan, havayı temizleyen ürünlerin yanı sıra, zevke hitap eden şık ve kullanışlı ev tekstilleri de büyük beğeni topladı. 40 bin metrekare alanda gerçekleştirilen fuarda, perdeden döşemelik kumaşa, uyku ve yatak odası ürünlerinden dekorasyon ürünlerine, duvar kaplamalarından yer kaplamalarına kadar ev tekstili ve dekorasyonuna ait tüm ürünler bir arada sergilendi. Fuara katılanlar, ev tekstili ve dekorasyon dünyasındaki son gelişmeleri ve trendleri yakından görme fırsatı yakaladı.

Sektör temsilcilerinin birlik ve beraberlik mesajı verdiği fuarda, Türkiye’nin tüm illeri, farklı renk ve desendeki kumaşlarla kaplanarak, o farklılıklardan uyumlu bir bütünü varış sembolize edildi. TETSİAD, fuar alanında yaptığı bu anlamlı çalışmayı, “ Biz milletiz ” kısa filmi ile bütünleyerek, tüm ziyaretçilerin beğenisini aldı. Sosyal medyada ses getiren bu çalışma, daha uzunca bir süre konuşulacak gibi.

Those who participated in the fair had a chance to closely see the latest developments and trends of the home textile and decoration world.

The fair represented unity and solidarity, each one of Turkey’s provinces were represented by fabrics in different colors and patterns, a coherent arrival in those differences were symbolized.

TETSİAD completed this meaningful message with a short movie “We are the nation”, and got credit from all of the visitors. This work also made an impact on social media and it seems like it will remain popular for quite some time.

Bu yılki fuar bizim için gayet güzeldi. Yurtdışı ziyaretçisi beklediğimizin çok üstünde. Özellikle Kuzey Afrika’dan, Cezayir, Fas, Tunus gibi. İran, Libya ve Mısır’dan gelen misafirlerimiz vardı. Yurtdışındaki bayiliklerimizin yabancı misafirlerin gelmesine büyük katkısı oldu.

Home&Tex Fuarı’nın sektörün geleceğindeki yeri ve önemi nedir? Gelecek yıllar için ne tür beklentileriniz ve önerileriniz olabilir?

Home&Tex Fuarı zamanlama olarak çok doğru. Özellikle firmaların koleksiyon hazırlamaları için. Sadece yer anlamında sorun yaşıyoruz.

Misafirlerimizi ağırlamakta zorlanıyoruz, bazı müşterilerimizi stand dışında bekletmek zorunda kaldık. Fuarın daha fazla büyütülmesi gerekiyor, Evteks’te olduğu gibi iki katlı kullanıma izin verilmeli.

Fuarda bu yıl sergilenen ürünlerde ne gibi yenilikler, farklılıklar vardı?

Biz Flokser olarak bu fuara yeni ürünlerle, yeni desenlerle katıldık. Teknik özellikleri olan ürünlerimiz ön planda. Müşteriler sürekli yenilik istiyor, aynı ürün dahi olsa farklı renk ve desenini istiyor. Geçen yıl bizim için çok güzel geçti bu yıl da öyle. Ayrıca sadece döşemelik kumaş değil, perde ve halı sektörüne de el attık, artık orada da varız.

Can you please summarize this years Home&Tex Fair?

This years fair was pretty good for us. The number of international visitors was much more than we expected. Especially from North Africa, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia etc. There were also guests from Iran, Libya and Egypt. Our foreign dealers contributed a lot for the visits of international guests.

What is the place and importance of Home&Tex Fair in the sectors future? What kind of expectations and suggestions do you have for the future?

The Home&Tex Fair couldn’t have come at a better time. Especially for the firms, to prepare their collections. We only have trouble in the size of the space. We have had a hard time hosting our guests , even making some of our customers wait out of the stand. The fair should be extended and usage of two-storey buildings like that used by the Evteks fair should also be used by the Home&Tex fair.

What kind of novelties, differences were there in the products that were exhibited this year at the fair?

As Floksers, we participated in this fair showcasing new products and patterns. Our products with technical features are at the forefront. The customers always want novelty, even if it is the same product; they want different colours and patterns. This year as well as the previous year has been good for us.

We have branched out this year and stepped into the curtain and carpet sectors.

Bizim açımızdan verimli geçen bir fuar oldu.

Hedeflerimizin üstünde bir netice aldık. Standımız hiç boş kalmadı. Ziyaretçi sayısı çok yüksek olmasa da gelen müşteri alma odaklıydı, özellikle yurtdışı müşterisi. Gelen her yabancı müşteri iş yaptı. Nihayetinde Golden Home olarak sonuçtan memnunuz, istediğimiz hedeflere ulaştık.

Home&Tex Fuarı’nın sektörün geleceğindeki yeri ve önemi nedir? Gelecek yıllar için ne tür beklentileriniz ve önerileriniz olabilir?

Home&Tex Fuarı bizim çok önem verdiğimiz bir fuar. Fuara katılımın artarak devam etmesi gerekir. Şu anki konjonktürel durumdan genel bir durgunluk anlaşılabilir, ancak gelecek yıllar için daha fazla firmanın özellikle yabancı müşterinin katılması için çalışmalar arttırılmalı. Katılımcı firmaların sayısı daha fazla olmalı. Tanıtım çalışmalarının arttırılması gerekiyor. Ayrıca firmaların stand dekorasyonlarında serbest bırakılması gerekiyor.

Fuarda bu yıl sergilenen ürünlerde ne gibi yenilikler, farklılıklar vardı?

Her yıl yenileniyoruz, yeni tasarımlar yeni modeller yapıyoruz. Hatta iş yoğunluğundan, siparişlerimizin çokluğundan yenilik yapmaya vaktimiz kalmıyor diyebiliriz.

It was a productive fair for us. We received a result that exceeded our expectations. Our stands were never empty. Although the number of the visitors was not high, the ones who visited us, were focused on business, especially international customers. At the end of the day, we are satisfied with the result, as we reached the targets we wanted.

What is the place and importance of Home&Tex Fair in the sectors future?

What kind of expectations and suggestions do you have for the future?

The Home&Tex Fair, is a very important fair for us. The participation in the fair should continue increasingly. Stagnation due to cyclical conditions can be understood; however, the efforts for the participation of more firms, especially international customers, should be increased. Also, the firms should be free to decorate their stands.

What kind of novelties, differences were there in the products that were exhibited this year at the fair?

We are renewed every year, creating new designs and models. Even we do not have time for novelties due to the workload and orders.

FUAR TARİH OLARAK ÇOK DOĞRU THE DATE OF THE FAIR IS VERY ACCURATE

İbrahim Uzunoğlu Egem Tekstil Bu yıl düzenlenen Home&Tex Fuarı hakkında genel bir değerlendirmede bulunabilir misiniz? İlk olarak söylemek istediğim, fuarın tarih olarak ev tekstili için çok uygun olduğu. Home&Tex Fuarı olgunlaşması halinde ev tekstili sektörü için çok önemli olacak. Biz Denizli’den katılan bir firmayız, ilk yıl tereddütle katıldık. Ancak fuarın her yıl daha gelişerek dördüncü yılında çok iyi bir aşamaya geldiğini düşünüyoruz. Ev tekstili sektörü Türkiye ihracatında çok büyük bir öneme sahip ve şuan dünyada bir marka. Bu nedenle fuarlar bizim için çok önemli, Home&Tex Fuarı için elimizden gelen desteği vermeye çalışıyoruz. İstanbul da fuarcılık anlamında doğru bir adres ve bu işi çok iyi başarıyor.

Home&Tex Fuarı’nın sektörün geleceğindeki yeri ve önemi nedir? Gelecek yıllar için ne tür beklentileriniz ve önerileriniz olabilir?

Bu fuarın tarih olarak konumlandırılması çok doğru.

Stand sistemi başarılı. Şu anlamda başarılı, bütün firmalar aynı büyüklükte standlara sahip, bu da ürünlerin yarışması demek. Ayrıca çok büyük standlara sahip olmak bazen dezavantaj olabiliyor. Müşteri çok büyük ve gösterişli standlardaki ürünleri daha pahalı zannedebiliyor.

Fuarda bu yıl sergilenen ürünlerde ne gibi yenilikler, farklılıklar vardı?

Türkiye’de genel olarak son 10 yılda ciddi yenilikler var. Hangi standa giderseniz farklı koleksiyon ve ürünlerle karşılaşıyorsunuz. Yenilik yapmak şart, bunu yapmazsanız müşteri bulamazsınız.

The first thing I want to say is that, the date of the fair is very accurate for the home textile sector. If the Home&Tex fair develops, it will be very important for the home textile sector. We are the first company participating from Denizli, we were in doubt the first year we participated. However, we think that the fair has developed over the past 4 years, and is now at a good stage. The Home textile sector has a very big importance in Turkey’s export and it is currently a reputable brand in the world. Therefore, the fairs are very important for us, we are doing our best to support the Home&Tex fair. İstanbul is a correct address for fairs and it achieves this business very successfully.

What is the place and importance of Home&Tex Fair in the sectors future? What kind of expectations and suggestions do you have for the future?

The date of the fair is very accurate. The stand system is successful, all the firms have the same size stands and this means the products compete in equal conditions.

Also, having very big stands is sometimes a disadvantage. The customers may think that the products showecased at big and showy stands are more expensive.

What kind of novelties, differences were there in the products that were exhibited this year at the fair?

In general, in the last 10 years there have been many serious novelties in Turkey. You see different collections and products in each stand you visit. It is a must to be innovative; otherwise, you cannot compete and it will be difficult to find customers.

Fuar genel anlamda iyi olsa da biz büyük bir firma olduğumuz ve hedeflerimiz büyük olduğu için istediğimizden farklı oldu sonuçlar. Özellikle firmamızın çalışma yapısıyla da alakalı bir durum bu. Fuarda görüştüğümüz ve durumdan çok memnun firmalar da var, tabi onların çalışma yapısı bu noktada etkili oluyor, örneğin bayilik sitemlerinin olması.

Home&Tex Fuarı’nın sektörün geleceğindeki yeri ve önemi nedir? Gelecek yıllar için ne tür beklentileriniz ve önerileriniz olabilir?

Türk firmalarının katılım sağlayarak fuara destek vermesi gerekiyor, çünkü fuar henüz 4 yıllık bir fuar, görünürlüğünün ve bilinirliğinin artması için zamana ihtiyaç var. Tabii yurtdışı ziyaretçi sayısının arttırılması için de ayrıca çalışmalar yapılmalı.

Reklam çalışmalarının arttırılması gerekiyor.

Ayrıca standların da tekdüzelikten çıkması gerekiyor. Standlar için de farklı ve yaratıcı fikirlere ihtiyacımız var.

Fuarda bu yıl sergilenen ürünlerde ne gibi yenilikler, farklılıklar vardı?

Her yıl iki katalog hazırlıyoruz, biri kış biri yaz olmak üzere. Fuarlar bunları müşteriye ulaştırmamız için iyi bir fırsat oluyor. Bizler de bu fırsatı kullanmaya çalışıyoruz. Buna özel hazırlıklar yapıyoruz, tasarımlar yapıyoruz.

Even the fair was good in general, as we are a big company and have big goals, the results are different than we expected. It is strongly related to the working style of our company. There are many companies we meet at the fair and they are very satisfied with the situation, of course, their work structure is very effective at this point, for example, they have dealership systems.

What is the place and importance of Home&Tex Fair in the sectors future?

What kind of expectations and suggestions do you have for the future?

Turkish companies should support the fair by contribution, because this fair is only 4 years old, it needs time to increase its visibility and recognition. Of course, additional works should be made to increase the number of international visitors.

Advertisement works should be increased. Also the stands should not be uniform. We need different and creative ideas for each of the stands.

What kind of novelties, differences were there in the products that were exhibited this year at the fair?

We prepare two catalogues every year, one for winter and one for summer. The fair is a good opportunity to deliver them to customers. We work to use this opportunity. We make preparations, designs especially for it.

Home&Tex Fuarı zamanlama olarak çok başarılı bir tarihte organize ediliyor. Ekim, kasım, aralık ayındaki o durgunluk bu fuarla birlikte yerini hareketliliğe bırakıyor. Firmalar bununla birlikte müşteriyle buluşma fırsatı elde ediyor. Fuarın diğer önemli bir özelliği ise tek tip stand uygulamasıyla tüm firmalara eşit fırsatlar sunuyor olması. Özellikle küçük işletmeciler için bu çok önemli. Cumhurbaşkanımızın daha önce açıkladığı 2023 hedeflerinden olan 500 milyar dolarlık ihracat hedefine ulaşabilmemiz için de yılda tek bir fuarın yeterli olmadığı bunun yanında Ekim-Kasım döneminde de bir fuara ihtiyaç olduğu ortaya çıkmıştı. Home&Tex, 4 yıllık bir fuara göre çok başarılı. Bizler firmalar olarak fasonculuktan çıkıp, katma değeri yüksek ürünler ortaya koymalıyız. Markalaşmaya yoğunlaşmalı, bunun içinde daha fazla çalışmalıyız. İnovasyona yönelik girişimler arttırılmalı.

Home&Tex is organized on a very successful date. The stagnation in October, November and December is replaced with buoyancy with this fair.

The companies get the change of meeting to the customers. Another important feature of the fair is the uniform stands as it offers equal opportunities to all companies. As our President explained previously, it was revealed that one fair per year is not sufficient to reach a 500 billion dollars export volume, which is one of the 2023 goals, making another fair for the October – November period necessary. The Home&Tex fair has a very important place to reach our goals and it is a necessity.

What is the place and importance of Home&Tex Fair in the sectors future?

What kind of expectations and suggestions do you have for the future?

Home&Tex Fair has been very successful for the last 4 years. As companies, we should be out of the contract manufacturing business and present products with high value-addition. The attempts towards innovation should be increased.

What kind of novelties, differences were there in the products that were exhibited this year at the fair?

Both Evteks Fair and Home&Tex Fair make strong impressions in respect to foreign companies on the products exhibited and the stands. We produce different and better products every year.

Fuar komitesi olarak fuara katılan firmaların hazırlığını nasıl buldunuz, daha sonra yapılacak bu tür organizasyonlar için ne gibi tavsiyeleriniz olur?

Firmalarımız her yıl üzerine bir şeyler katarak geliyor fuara. Mevcut koleksiyonlarını değiştiriyor ve yeni koleksiyonlar üretiyorlar.

Bu yılki koleksiyonlar oldukça başarılıydı, önümüzdeki süreçte yapılacak olan Heimtextile Fuarı’na hazırlık niteliğinde yenilikler vardı. Home&Tex Fuarı, bu anlamda 4 yıl gibi kısa bir sürede geldiği aşama olarak çok iyi bir noktada. Firmalarla konuştuğumuzda aldığımız geri dönüşler de bu yönde. Hazır modüler sistem standlar ile firmalar çok küçük değişiklikler yaparak ürünlerini sergileyebiliyorlar. Önümüzdeki yıl yapılacak fuara bu yıl katılamamış firmaların muhakkak katılmalarını tavsiye ederim.

Can you please briefly summarise 2016’s Home&Tex Fair, how was it, was it productive enough for the sector?

It was a productive fair for the sector. We can say that it was more productive than the previous year. We got what we expected from the fair.

As the fair committee, how was the preparation of the companies who participated in the fair, what kind suggestions do you have for the organizations to be made in the future?

Our companies participate in the fairs by adding on every year. They change their present collections and produce new collections. This years collections were pretty successful; there were novelties as preparations to the Heimtextile Fair. Overall the Home&Tex fair is in a very good situation according to the success it has achieved in the short time period it has been operating; 4 years. The feedback we received from the companies is in this direction. The companies can present their products by making very little changes, and showcase them at modular system stands. I strongly recommend to the companies who did not participate in the fair this year that they participate next year.

Home&Tex Fuarı için özel hazırlıklarımız var ve çalışmalara başladık. İlk olarak gelecek yıl daha fazla yabancı firmanın katılımını sağlamak için girişimlerde bulunacağız.

Yurtdışı firmaların katılımcı olarak fuarda yer almasını sağlayacağız. Bunun yanında fuarın kapasitesini artıracağız. Yer olarak daha büyüteceğiz. Yeni yılda ayrıca stand metrekaresi de serbest bırakılacak, firmalar istedikleri büyüklükte yere sahip olabilecek. Türkiye’de ev tekstili anlamında iki önemli fuar var. Evteks Fuarı sektör için bir numara. Home&Tex, bu noktada hızı ve temposuyla Evteks’ten sonra en önemli ikinci fuar olarak üzerine düşeni yapacak.

Türkiye ev tekstili sektörünü fuarcılık olarak uluslararası sektörle karşılaştırdığınızda nasıl bir tablo görüyorsunuz?

Türkiye ev tekstili sektörü fuarcılık olarak iyi bir noktada. Evteks ve Home&Tex fuarları bu anlamda çok önemli, ancak fuar alanımız metrekare olarak yetmiyor. Daha büyük alanlara ulaşmamız ve daha fazla firmanın katılımını sağlamalıyız. Evteks Fuarı’nda özellikle yer sorunu yaşadığımız için bazı firmaların dışarıda kaldığını biliyoruz. Ayrıca diğer önemli bir husus ise yurtdışından gelecek katılımcı firmalar. Bu konuda daha fazla çalışmalıyız, yabancı firmaların katılımı çok önemli. Evteks’te yer anlamında sorunlarımız var ama 2017’de daha iyi sonuçlar bekliyoruz, Home&Tex için de yabancı firmaların ve mili katılım gruplarının yer almalarını sağlamak için girişimleri başlatıyoruz.

What are the future goals and expectations of the fair committee for the Home&Tex Fair?

We have special preparations for the Home&Tex Fair and we have started to work on them already.

Firstly, we will attempt to increase the number of international companies at next years fair. We will also increase the capacity of the fair. The stand size will be free next year and the companies can have stands as big as they want. There are two important fairs in Turkey in respect to home textile. The Evteks Fair is the number one for the sector and our Home&Tex fair will be the second most important fair.

What kind of situation do you see when you compare Turkey’s home textile sector with the international sector in respect to fair organization?

Turkey is in a good situation in respect to fairs.

Evteks and Home&Tex fairs are important in this respect; however, our fair areas are insufficient in size. We should reach to bigger areas and provide the space so that more companies can participate.

We know that some of the companies cannot participate especially because of the size problem.

Also, another important issue is; the international companies, which participate from abroad. We should work more on this matter, participation of foreign companies is very important. We have problems in Evteks in the meaning of size; however, we expect better results in 2017. We start attempts for the participation of foreign companies and the national participation groups for Home&Tex soon.

TÜRK TEKSTILI, İTA İSTANBUL ILE SANAYI 4.0’IN ÖNCÜSÜ OLACAK THE TURKISH TEXTILE WILL PIONEER INDUSTRY 4.0 WITH ITA ISTANBUL

Türkiye’nin tekstil sektöründeki ilk Ar-Ge inovasyon merkezi olan İTA İstanbul, tekstil ihracatçı birlikleri ve Alman RWTH Aachen Üniversitesi Tekstil Teknoloji Enstitüsü işbirliğiyle geçtiğimiz günlerde kapılarını açtı.

ITA İstanbul recently opened Turkey’s first R&D innovation centre for the textile sector. It also collaborated with textile exporters’ associations and the German RWTH Aachen University Textile Technology Institute.

İstanbul Tekstil ve Hammaddeleri İhracatçıları Birliği (İTHİB) Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı İsmail Gülle ve İTA İstanbul A.Ş. Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Ahmet Şişman’ın ev sahipliğinde düzenlenen açılış törenine, Bilim, Sanayi ve Teknoloji Bakanı Faruk Özlü, TİM Başkanı Mehmet Büyükekşi, İSO Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Erdal Bahçıvan, RWTH Aachen Üniversitesi İTA Enstitü Direktörü Prof.

The Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, Faruk Özlü; the President of TİM (Turkish Exporters’ Assembly), Mehmet Büyükekşi; The Chairman of the Board of İSO (İstanbul Chamber of Industry), Erdal Bahçıvan and the ITA Institute Director of RWTH Aachen University, Prof Thomas Gries all participated in the ceremony beside the Mayor of Küçükçekmece, Temel Karadeniz, the members of İTHİB, The Chairman of the Board of TETSİAD, Ali Sami Aydın, and a great number of representatives from the textile and business world.

ITA İstanbul R&D Centre aims to improve Turkish-German economical and scientific relations and both institutes hope to be strengthened by the support of common development projects, sharing of know-how, and professional and academic training.

500 R&D Centres By 2023

The Chairman of the Board of TİM, Mehmet Büyükekşi indicated that there are still 250 R&D centres in Turkey and they will create 500 R&D centres by 2023. Büyükekşi, said that focusing on new technological deveopments does not mean other sectors will be ignored, it is possible to produce high technology and high value-added products by innovating each sector.

Bir TURQUALITY® programı etkinliği olarak T.C. Ekonomi Bakanlığı, TİM ve ETMK işbirliği ile düzenlenen “Design Turkey Endüstriyel Tasarım Ödülleri”, 19 Ekim’de Lütfi Kırdar Kongre ve Sergi Sarayı’nda beşinci kez sahiplerini buldu.

“Design Turkey Industrial Design Awards” is organized as a TURQUALITY® program event with a collaboration between T.C. Ministry of Economy, TİM and ETMK. The awards found their owners for the fifth time on 19th October in Lütfi Kırdar Congress and Exhibition Palace.

Türkiye Tasarım Haftası kapsamında gerçekleşen ödül törenine T.C. Ekonomi Bakanı Nihat Zeybekci ve TİM Başkanı Mehmet Büyükekşi başta olmak üzere iş ve tasarım dünyasından çok sayıda önemli isim katıldı. 30’u aşkın tasarım otoritesinin yer aldığı uluslararası bir jüri tarafından değerlendirilen toplam 350 endüstriyel tasarımdan 7’si Üstün Tasarım, 36’sı İyi Tasarım, 7’si ise Konsept Tasarım Ödülü almaya hak kazandı.

Design Turkey Ödülleri, Türkiye’nin endüstriyel tasarım alanındaki tek sistematik değerlendirme sistemi olma özelliğini de taşıyor.

Design Turkey ödüllerine ilişkin açıklamada bulunan TETSİAD Başkanı Ali Sam Aydın’a göre, “Dünyada Türk markası olmak için sürekli söylediğimiz gibi Ar-Ge, inovasyon ve tasarımlara öncelik vermeliyiz. Bu anlamda geçtiğimiz günlerde açılan İstanbul Tekstil Araştırma-Geliştirme ve Eğitim A.Ş. (İTA) yeni fikirlerin üretime geçirilmesi ve Türkiye Tasarım Haftası kapsamında düzenlenen endüstriyel tasarım ödülleri, markalaşma adına önemli adımlar attığımızın göstergesidir. Türk sanayisine gelişmesine yön veren projelerin ve ödüllerin desteklenmesi Türk tasarımcıların uluslararası platformlarda tanıtılması için güzel bir fırsat oluşturacaktır”.

The award ceremony was organized under the scope of Turkey Design Week, and lead by the T.C. Minister of Economy, Nihat Zeybekçi and the Chairman of the Board of TİM, Mehmet Büyükekşi, many other important people from the business and design world participated. 350 industrial designs were evaluated by an international jury, which consisted of more than 30 design authorities. 7 of them were awarded with Superior Design Prizes, 36 of them were awarded with Fine Design Prizes and 7 of them were awarded with the Conceptual Design Prize.

Design Turkey Awards, is the only systematic evaluation system in Turkey’s industrial design area. According to the Chairman of the Board of TETSİAD Ali Sami Aydın, “As we always say, we must give priority to R&D, innovation and designs to be a Turkish brand in the world. In this manner, İstanbul Textile Research-Development and Education A.Ş (İTA), which was recently opened for production of new ideas and Industrial Design Awards organized under the scope of Turkey Design Week, are the indicators that we are taking big steps for branding. Supporting projects and awards that direct the development of the Turkish industry will create a fine opportunity for the introduction of Turkish designers on international platforms.”

HALI TASARIM YARIŞMASI 10. YAŞINI KUTLADI THE CARPET DESIGN COMPETITION CELEBRATED ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY.

Türk Halı sektörünün yaratıcı gücünün yükselmesi, yetenekli gençlerin özgün tasarımlarının teşvik edilmesi ve yetenekli tasarımcıların keşfine yönelik hazırlanan Halı Tasarım Yarışması bu yıl 10. Yaşını kutladı.

10. Halı Tasarım Yarışması Final Gecesi 7 Ekim’de Polat Renaissance İstanbul Hotel’ de gerçekleştirildi. Gecede Halı sektörüne verdikleri emeklerle, ihracat hacimlerine göre sıralanmış 24 ihracatçı firmaya Platin İhracat Ödülleri verildi. Ödüller El halısı ve Makine Halısı olarak iki ayrı kategoride dağıtıldı. Yine ödül töreninin bir parçası olarak 2016 Yılın Halıcısı ödülü DHOKU Halı’dan Memet Güreli’ye verildi. İstanbul Halı İhracatçıları Birliği’nden (İHİB) yapılan açıklamada, “Organizasyonunda gerçekleştirilen Halı Tasarım Yarışması’nın amacı, sadece genç yeteneklerin çalışmalarını sanatsal anlamda ortaya çıkarıp tanıtmak değil, aynı zamanda bu tasarımları işlevsel bir halde sektörün ihtiyaçlarını karşılayacak şekilde sunmaktır. Bir diğer hedef de bu köklü geçmişi olan halıcılığı modernize edip, sahip olduğumuz mirası kullanarak uluslararası piyasada payımızı artırmaktır” denildi.

Yarışmada finale kalan 10 tasarımcının ödüllerinin sergilendiği ve jüri tarafından değerlendirildiği bu özel gecede yarışmanın dereceye giren isimler sırasıyla; 1. Muhammed Türk, 2. Senem Kula ve 3. Faruk Açıkgöz.

The Carpet Design Competition, which is organized for the rising of the Turkish Carpet sectors creative power, encouraging talented young people and discover new talented designers, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year.

The Final Night of the 10th Carpet Design Competition was organized on 7th September in the Polat Renaissance İstanbul Hotel. The Platinum Export Awards were given to 24 exporter companies, which are listed according to their efforts in the carpet sector and their export volumes.

The awards were given in two different categories; Handmade Carpets and the Machinery Carpets. The award for the top Carpet Seller in 2016 was given to, Memet Güreli from DHOKU Carpet.

In the statement made by İstanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association (İHİB), it was said; “The aim of the Carpet Design Competition is not only to discover talented young people’s works in an artistic manner and introduce them to the carpet sector, but also representing these designs functionally to meet the needs of the sector. Another aim is modernizing the carpet sector which has a rooted history and increasing our share in international markets by using our heritage”.

During this special night, the awards of the 10 finalist designers were exhibited and evaluated by the jury and the people that came out to the competition. The winners were; 1. Muhammed Türk, 2. Senem Kula and 3. Faruk Açıkgöz.

Geriye dönüp, 50 yıla baktığımızda, koşturan, mücadeleden yılmayan, başarılı olmaya azmetmiş, çok çalışan bir Haluk Taşçı görüyoruz. Lütfen, hayat mücadelenizi bize anlatır mısınız? Sizi, ailenizi, okurlarımıza anlatmak isteriz.

1954 yılında çalışma hayatına başladım. Kendime bir hedef koymuştum; 30 yaşında kendi işimi kurmak. 29 yaşında ilk işimi bir ortakla birlikte kurdum. Daha sonra ortaklıktan ayrıldım, kendi firmamı açtım. Sürekli koşturdum, yeniliklere ayak uydurdum, kendimi ve işimi geliştirdim. Ülkem ve kendim için verimli bir insan olmaya çalıştım. Yıllar yılları kovaladı ve bugünlere geldik.

Tabii, pek çok mücadele sonucunda, pek çok zorluğu aşarak; ama yılmadan. Çalışma hayatınızda yaşadığınız, unutamadığınız birkaç anınızı bizimle paylaşabilir misiniz?

O zamanlar Modern Mensucat firması vardı. Ürünleri yok satardı. 600 top talep olur, 300 top mal gelirdi. Yani malın yok satıldığı dönemdi. İnsanlar satacak mal bulamazken; ben, yeni kurulmuş, küçük bir firma olmama rağmen her hafta çarşamba günü bana ayrılmış bir kontenjan olurdu. Bunun gibi başka örnekler de verebilirim. Tabii; ticarete yeni başlayan birine verilen değer, gösterilen itibar, beni çok gururlandırmıştır. Doğru olursanız, her zaman karşılığını alırsınız. En büyük sermaye, piyasadaki itibarınızdır. Parayla, paranız kadar mal alırsınız, ama itibarınız varsa alacağınız malın sınırını siz koyarsınız.

When we look at the past 50 years, we see a Haluk Taşçı, who runs, does not give up, determined to be successful and works a lot. Can you please tell us your life story? We would like to tell your story to our readers.

I started to work in 1954. I had an aim to start my own business by time I was 30. I eventually started my first business with a partner, when I was 29. I left the partnership after sometime and started my own company. I have always worked, kept pace with the novelties, developed myself and my business. I worked to be a productive person for my country and myself. The years have passed and success has followed, many fights and difficulties have been overcome this is because I never gave up.

Can you please tell us a few of your stories that you experienced and have not forgotten in your business life?

There was the company of Modern Mensucat many years ago. The products sold out quickly. When 600 rolls were ordered, only 300 rolls were shipped. Which meant, the products sold out very quickly. People were not able to find products to sell and although my company was small and newly founded, there used to be a special quota reserved for me every week on Wednesdays. I can give different examples like this. Of course; the value and the dignity shown to a person, who had just started to trade, did myself proud. How you treat people will always be returned to you. Your biggest fortune is your standing in the market. You can buy as many goods as you can with as much money as you have, however, if you have a standing, you can limit the amount of the goods to purchase.

AKTÜEL/ACTUAL Another memory that I cannot forget is; I was going to Heimtextile Fair for the first time in 1972. I saw the Turkish Flag at the entrance of the fair. The flag was showing that there was a Turkish participant in the fair.

I wondered and searched for them. There had been no Turkish participants until that year. I found the stand in the fair. I saw a gentleman displaying carpets on a small stand; Gümüşsuyu Carpets. The gentleman said “As there were no Turkish companies in the fair, I participated and made them hang the flag of my country.” I was so affected, proud and my eyes were filled with tears. My eyes are still filled with tears when I remember it.

Unutamadığım bir başka anım, 1972 yılı, ilk kez Heimtextile Fuarı’na gidiyorum. Fuar girişinde Türk bayrağı gördüm. Fuarda Türk katılımcı olduğunu gösteriyordu, o bayrak. Merak ettim, araştırdım, kim bu Türk. O yıla kadar fuarda firmamız yoktu. Fuarda standı buldum. Bir baktım küçük bir standa halılar sermiş bir bey var: Gümüşsuyu halı. Gelinen nokta sizce nasıl?

Geçmişte kaynaklar kıttı, ne mal çoktu ne de para; ama iş bilgisi, ahlakı ve saygı vardı. Her şey söz ile yürüyordu, imza ve yazıyla değil.

Söz ağızdan çıkınca, iş biterdi. Ticari rekabetin oluşması ve ödemelerin yapılmaması, karşılıksız çekler, çok para kazanmak ve çabuk köşeyi dönmek anlayışının gelişmesiyle birlikte, birbirimize karşı sevgi ve saygıyı yok ettik. Rekabet kuralları dışına çıkıp, hoş olmayan yöntemleri ticaretin içine sokunca, herkes birbirine zarar vermeye başladı. Birçok firma küçülmeye ve kapanmaya başladı. Başlangıçta insanlar ödemelerini yapamadılar; ama sonrasında bunu alışkanlık haline getirdiler. Paylaşımı, düzeni ve birlik beraberliği bozdular. Bugün insanların amaç ve hedefi kısa yoldan zengin olmak. Hal böyle olunca nezaket kuralları, adap, edep, ne yazık ki yok oluyor.

When you compare the past of the sector and the trade with present conditions and standards of judgements, what kind of difference do you see?

How is the current situation?

The sources were scarce in the past, neither goods, nor money was plenty, however, there was knowledge, morals, and respect for the business. Everything was done by word of mouth, not marketing through signs and advertisements. When a promise was given, the business was completed. As commercial competition was created and the understanding of payments, bad checks, earning too much money and striking it rich in a short way were developed, we lost our love and respect to each other. After the rules of competition were broken and unpleasant ways were introduced, everyone started to hurt each other.

Many companies started to shrink and close. People were not able to make their payments in the beginning; however, it became a habit after a while. It destroyed sharing, order and unity. Today, people’s aim is striking it rich through the shortest way possible. Unfortunately, when this is the situation, politeness, good manners and decency disappear.

Being open to the world, open to the knowledge, innovative and active. It is very important to know your budget. The primary rule is being innovative to develop your volume and using the money you earn correctly. We must follow our work and the world developments in our work very closely. I have tried to reveal a different product which is not produced by everyone.

What are your principles that you can also name as the golden rules of commerce?

Seeing, evaluating and sharing.

You have spent a lot of effort on this sector for many years. What kind of advice would you like to give young entrepreneurs and future generations who want to benefit from your experiences?

You should have an aim and target. You should be hardworking and patient. You should be innovative to develop your volume, and grow your business. You should use the money you earn correctly if you want to be successful and permanent in your sector. If you spend your money on personal expenses, you disappear…

You have a perfect idea. You believe that it has a potential. Perhaps you have received feedback from various people. Start from 3 main research methods to decide where to start from.

•Google has enough information to answer most of the questions you have about your ideas. By using Keywords Search tool, you can find the number of the people that look for the works connected to your ideas. Write the keywords in the search box, select the country. The results of this search will offer you data for the market you wish to target.

•Prepare a solid work plan. All your research supports that you are on the right track. You will apply your ideas. How will you reach your customers? How many sources do you have?

What are your targets in the short term? You should have a plan for all these questions.

•Prepare prototypes or presentations/ home pages that will reveal your ideas with all the details. Ask feedback on the topics. Never forget that they include results, which are very valuable for you and your idea.

The ideas on implementation are important; however do not get stuck in right away. Test them and try to find faults in them. Thinking that your idea is the best idea interrupts your process. Let it be criticized, each criticism opens new ways to improvements.

DOKU /TEXTURE According to a rumor, in one of the most famous love stories of Turkish Folk Literature, Kerem and Aslı, as its story-teller said “Kerem has picked up the stringed instrument” and Kerem started to play the line of “The Kutnu fabric used to come from India”.

The entire Gaziantep region knows this line and it carries important historical information about Kutnu fabric that is identified with the Gaziantep region. For example, according to the rumor, as Kutnu fabric was mentioned in the love story of Kerem and Aslı from 16th century, it shows that it was valuable to be a line of a public love story. Also, as we have the idiom of “Rare Indian Silk” in Turkish literature, it is possible that the rare Indian silk was Kutnu. This fabric, which is worthy for sultans and shahs with its cotton-soft texture and grandiose brightness like silk; it used to be the most precious piece of trade for caravans and on the Silk Road.

O vakitler Hindistan’da, Halep’te, Humus’ta imal edilen kutnu kumaşı, neyse ki 16. yüzyıldan beri bize Hint kadar uzakta değil. Elimizin altında, Gaziantep’te bulunuyor. Üstelik Türkiye’de sadece Gaziantep ve köylerinde imal ediliyor. Yakın zamanda ise Gaziantep’in asırlardır yükselen bir markası olarak Türk Patent Enstitüsü tarafından tescillendi. HIstorically Kutnu has been produced in Aleppo and Humus, since the 16th century.

Nowadays it is only produced in Gaziantep and its villages in Turkey. Recently, it has been registered as the arising brand of Gaziantep for centuries by Turkish Patent Institute. İçeriğinde sentetik hiçbir şey barındırmadığı için Osmanlı hareminin gözde kumaşlarından olan kutnuyu salt yarı pamuk yarı ipekten elde edilmiş olması değil; aynı zamanda yeteri kadar zaman, el emeği ve sabırla yoğrulması bu derece değerli kılıyor. El dokuma tezgâhlarında bin bir titizlik ve dikkatle işlenen kutnu kumaşı ilk başta bobinden “devre” adı verilen makine veya el yordamıyla sökülüp çile haline getiriliyor. Ardından 100 derecelik boya kazanlarında kaynatılıp bir müddet bekletilerek ipin istenen rengi alması bekleniyor. Renk süreci tamamlanınca kazandan çıkarılan ipler sıkılarak kurutuluyor. Ardından dokuma esnasında kopma riskinin önüne geçmek için mezekçiler tarafından ayıklanan iplikler taraklandıktan sonra dokumaya hazır hale getiriliyor. Bu zorlu süreç dokuma tezgahında devam ediyor. İmal edilmesi oldukça zahmetli olup bir kişinin bir günde ancak bir metre üretebildiği, fazlasıyla el emeği, alın teri gerektiren kutnu kumaşı haliyle diğer kumaşlara nispetle bir o kadar pahalı.

Ancak lüksünden, zarafetinden ve şıklığından ödün vermeyenlerin hala bir numaralı tercihlerinden olmayı başarıyor. Hatta son zamanlarda kutnu kumaşının popülerliğini artırmak, onu dünya moda sahnesine tanıtmak için ünlü modacılar tarafından tasarım ve kreasyonlar hazırlanıyor. Böylece kutnu kumaşı Gaziantep’in tozlu dokuma tezgahlarından dünyanın dört bir yanındaki moda sahnelerine uzanan bir atlasta yolculuğuna devam ediyor.

Hand Work, Great Effort

As it does not have any synthetics in its content, Kutnu was one of the favorite fabrics of Ottoman Harem, and is only produced from half-cotton and half-silk, it is precious as is prepared overtime, hand worked, requiring lots of patience. Kutnu is prepared on handlooms with a great attention to detail and care. It is firstly removed from the coil via a machine called “devre” or groping and prepared as skeins. After that, it is boiled in 100 degrees dying boilers and floated for a while to achieve the desired color. After the dying process is completed, the yarns are taken out of the boiler, squeezed and dried. In an attempt to prevent the yarn from breaking during the weaving, workers sizing the yarns pluck and comb them.

This tough process also continues whilst weaving the looms. Production of it is pretty hard, a person can only produce one meter everyday, as it requires extreme effort for production.

Kutnu fabric is quite expensive than the other fabrics. However, it is still the first choice of the people who care about luxury and elegance.

Even recently, famous fashion designers have prepared designs and creations to increase the popularity of Kutnu fabric and have introduced it into the world fashion stage. Thereby, Kutnu fabric continues its journey atlas around the world, starting from the dusty weaving looms of Gaziantep to the fashion scenes of the world’s top cities.

Gaziantep is a cultural centre; it is one of the favorite cities of the region with its spicy cuisine, desserts tradtioanlly made with sherbet and honey, and the historical market that completes the texture of the city. Finally Kutnu fabric finally received the title it deserves with its brightness and softness, and comes to the forefront as a product making its city one of the most important textile centres in Turkey.

rda bir köyünüz varsa uzakta, gözleriniz toprağında açılmasa bile o köy hep sizin köyünüz olur. Nerelisin? diye sorulduğunda doğduğumuz değil, ait olduğumuz yerin adı geçer aklımızdan. Ait olduğumuz yerin yerlisiyizdir bir bakıma. Kastamonu’nun en dikkat çeken ve ilgi gören ilçesi Abana benim için böyle bir yer. Doğup büyümediğim, ancak toprağına bir ağaç kökü gibi sıkı sıkıya tutunduğum tek yer. Her yıl ne zaman imkân bulsam, özellikle yaz tatillerimi Abana’da geçiririm. Nice beş yıldızlı oteller, allı pullu mekânlar varken, envai çeşit etkinlikler organize edilip, spa masajları yapılıyorken, ben ısrarla bu küçük butik tatil köyünü tercih ederim. Dahası hiçbir yerde bu kadar huzurlu olamam, keyif alamam. Neden mi?

Kastamonu’ya 98 kilometre uzaklıktaki Abana, temiz havası, sanatçılara ilham veren yeşilin her tonu, el değmemiş ormanları, mis gibi çam, meşe, kestane ve o meşhur yaşlı çınar ağaçları, masmavi denizi, nehirleri, altı kilometre uzunluğundaki sahili, eşsiz günbatımı manzarasıyla zaten başka tercih bırakmaz insana. Ancak Abana, sadece doğal güzelliği ile değil, M.Ö 20. yüzyıla dayanan tarihiyle de dikkat çekiyor. Tarihteki en eski adı Abonou Teikhes; Abonou Hisarı, Aben Hisarı anlamına geliyor.

Kastamonu’nun en eski yerleşim yerinin ilçenin doğusundaki Hacıveli Köyü olduğu biliniyor. İlçede sırasıyla Danişmentliler, Selçuklular ve Candaroğulları hâkimiyetinde kalmış. Son olarak Osmanlı’da Yıldırım Beyazıd’a konaklık etmiş ve bölgenin bir parçası haline gelmiş. Ayrıca, Limasollu Naci Öğretim Yayınlarının kurucusu Naci Limasollu, Abana’da 1956-1976 yılları arasında İngilizce dil kamplarını kurmuş ve bununla birlikte Abana turizmi her geçen gün gelişerek günümüz haline ulaşmış.

Even if you live in a village that’s far away from the land you were born in, that village always becomes your village. When you are asked “Where are you from?”, you always remember the place you belong, not where you were born. In a way, we are a native of the place we were born. Abana, the most attention-grabbing and attractive city of Kastamonu, is a place like this for me. It is the Villiage where I was born and I am attached to its lands tightly like the roots of a tree. Every year, whenever I have a chance, I spend my holidays in Abana, especially in the summers. Although there are many five-star hotels, fancy restaurants and Spas to choose from anywhere in Turkey , I insist on choosing this small boutique holiday village, year on year. Moreover, I cannot be peaceful in anywhere else as much as I am here. But, why?

Kastamonu is placed among the top five cities for Turkey’s virgin forests and natural beauties.

Abana, 98 kilometers away from Kastamonu, and manages to surpass all competition with its clean air, every shade of blue that inspires artists, untouched forests, fragrant pine, oak and chestnut trees, deep blue sea and rivers, six-kilometer long beach and unique sunset view. However, Abana is not only aestically beautiful, it is also historicr, dating back to 20 BC. The oldest name in its history, Abonou Teikhes; means Abonou Fortress, Aben Fortress. Abana ve Dokumacılık

Abana doğal güzelliklerinin yanı sıra kültürünü, halen devam etmekte olan bazı yöresel sanatlarla muhafaza ediyor desek yanlış olmaz. Tarih boyunca dokumacılık, Kastamonu’nun en büyük gelir kaynaklarından biriydi. Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında, hemen hemen her evde bir dokuma tezgahı mevcut olup aileler, gelin kaynana, mutlaka evde dokuma işleri yaparlardı. Hatta öyle ki 35 bin dokuma tezgahının varlığından söz ediliyor. Düz ve renkli dokuma olarak yatak çarşafı, ön bezi, kadın iş önlüğü, başörtüsü, peşkir, fanila halen günümüzde Merkez, Cide, Doğanyurt, Tosya, Azdavay, Seydiler, Araç, Pınarbaşı, Devrekani ilçelerinde el tezgâhlarında dokunmaya devam ediyor. Tosya’da tela imalatıyla birlikte, tiftikten iç kuşağı, hamam kesesi, üç dilim kuşağı imal ediliyor. En çok rağbet gören Kastamonu ve İlçelerinin en yaygın gelir getirisi olan el sanatı olan Çarşaf Bağı, özellikle yerli dokuma “sarı kıvrak” yatak çarşaflarının iki uzun kenarına veya dört kenarına pamuk ipliğinden alet kullanılmaksızın kadınların parmak uçları tırnakları marifetiyle düğümler atılarak yapılan süslemelerdir. Cide, Şenpazar, Küre, Azdavay, Pınarbaşı ilçelerinde keten dokumalarına rastlanılmaktadır. Tosya ilçesinde tela imalatı giyim sektörünün ihtiyacını karşılıyor. Düz, beyaz tiftikten iç kuşağı ve renkli üç dilim kuşağı, hamam kesesi ülkemizde yaygın olarak kullanılıyor.

It would not be wrong to say that Abana still preserves its culture with some of its regional arts that continue alongside its natural beauties.

Throughout the history, weaving has been one of, Kastamonu’s most important income sources. In the first years of the Republic, there was a weaving loom in almost every house; and families, brides and mother-in-laws were tasked to produce weaving materials. It is estimated that there were 35 thousand looms. Plain and colorful weaving of; bed sheets, clothes, women work uniforms, kerchiefs, towels, undershirts are still woven in handlooms through out Central Districts such as; Cide, Doğanyurt, Tosya, Azdavay, Seydiler, Araç, Pınarbaşı, and Devrekani cities. In Tosya, wadding production, angora wool inner-belts, Turkish bath gloves, three-slice belts are also produced. Çarşaf Bağı (sheet adornment) is the main source of revenue, especially sarı kıvrak ( local weaving) , which are cotton embellishments and frills put around the border of bed sheets. Women use their fingertips and nails to weave and knot the yarn into these decorations, in Kastamonu and its cities.

Linen weavings are commonly produced in Cide, Şenpazar, Küre, Azdavay and Pınarbaşı cities.

The wadding production in Tosya, supplies all the demand for the garment sector. Inner-belts made of plain white angora wool, three-slice belts and bath gloves are commonly used in Turkey.

Tablecloth Printing

Sofrabezi Baskıcılığı Tarih boyunca dokumacılık, Kastamonu’nun en büyük gelir kaynaklarından biriydi. Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında, hemen hemen her evde bir dokuma tezgahı mevcut olup aileler, gelin kaynana, mutlaka evde dokuma işleri yaparlardı.

Yörenin diğer önemli sanatlarından biri olan Sofrabezi Baskıcılığı ise, Kastamonu Merkez ve Daday, Devrekani ilçelerinde yapılıyor. Düz beyaz patiska bez üzerine, ıhlamur ağacı üzerine elle oyma veya kabartma olarak yapılmış bitkisel, geometrik motif işli, değişik boyutlardaki ahşap kalıpların, özel hazırlanmış tek renkli boyaya batırılıp basılmasıyla meydana getiriliyor. Beyaz bez üzerinde siyah renkte uygulanan “sini bezi”, sofra örtüsü, masa örtüsü, başörtüsü olarak kullanılırken, son yıllarda Kastamonu’nun en sevilen hediyelik eşyası olan sini bezine değişik uyarlamalar yapılarak etek, perde, örtü olarak kullanılıyor.

Another important art of the region, Tablecloth Printing is made in Kastamonu’s Central District, Daday and Devrekani. It is made of plain white calico, pressed against wooden moulds made of hand-carved or embossed lime tree in specially produced single-coloured dye. “Metal tray cloth (sini bezi)”, made of white cloth with black printing, can be used as tablecloths and handkerchiefs. As it is the most popular souvenir of Kastamonu , different adaptations are made on metal tray cloth to be used as skirt, curtain or cover.

Undershirt Production Fanilacılık

Fanila da Kastamonu’nun yöresel el dokuma sanatlarından biridir. Geçmişi hakkında bilinen en önemli bilgi Kurtuluş Savaşı esnasında ordunun iç giyim eşyasının Kastamonu fanilalarından karşılandığıdır. Kastamonu fanilasının en önemli özelliği sadece yüzde yüz pamuk iplikten üretilmesi.

Bu sayede fanila dört mevsim giyilebilme özelliği kazanır. Kışın vücudu sıcak tutmasından; yazın ise ter emme özelliğinden dolayı tercih ediliyor. Dikiş ve dantelleri ev hanımları tarafından yapılıyor.

Undershirt is also one of the regional hand weaving arts of Kastamonu. The most important information known about it; Kastamonu supplied the underclothes worn by the army during the Independence War . The most important feature of Kastamonu undershirt is; it is made of a hundred percent cotton yarn. Thus, the undershirt can be worn in all seasons. It is chosen in winters as it keeps the body warm and it is chosen in summers due to sweat absorption and breathability. Stitching and lacework are made by housewives.

There are some cities that please your eyes, your ears, your nose and your tongue. Abana is one of these. It is like no other place on the earth, similar to a paradise, with its famous orecchiette ( kulak makarna), quickbread with ground meat (etli ekmek), pit oven kebab ( kuyu kebabı), fresh fish sold fresh from the sea by fishermen every morning, organic gardens, fruit orchards, famous pull candy (çekme helva), together with many different flavors.

Toza Observation Hill, Kent Ormanı and Yeşilyuva Picnic Area are perfect areas for the those who want to benefit from the forest air, have a picnic or enjoy the unique view. Many photography-lovers come here to capture the magical views. The oldest architecture among the Kastamonu’s historical wooden houses is, Hacıveli Mosque in Abana built in 1805. When Hacıveli is mentioned, I remember the sunset that I watched from its spectacular rock. This sunset is as perfect as on a postcard, as it sets on the sea. The sunrise is also unique. You start your day with the songs of birds and clean forest air.

If you pass by the region and want to buy souvenirs for your friends, small shops are set up every night in Abana’s city center. Abana is famous for, small wooden souvenirs and, the covers made of pure organic linen with Kastamonu knots, towels, tablecloths with stone printings, copper products and bedclothes are all leading accessories of the region.

Hacıveli denilince aklıma ihtişamlı kayasından izlemeye doyamadığım günbatımı geliyor. Oradaki günbatımı kartpostallar gibi kusursuzdur. Güneş, ışığını tüm ihtişamıyla denize bırakarak batar. Gün doğumu da aynı şekilde eşsizdir. Kuşların şarkısı ve temiz orman havasıyla güne başlarsınız.

Osmanlı İmparatorluğu döneminin en önemli binalarından biri olan Tütün Rejisi İdari Binası, bugün Régie Ottoman Hotel olarak İstanbul’un tarihi semti Sirkeci’de misafirlerini ağırlıyor.

Bu tarihi yapıyı ziyaret ederken Otel Müdürü Hatice Özcan ile kullandıkları tekstil ürünleri hakkında kısa bir sohbet etme fırsatı bulduk.

The Hotel Manager, Hatice Özcan, explained the reason for selecting the velvet fabric, is because it isolates sound besides being soft and warm. Plenty of fabric is used beside leather. Lady Hatice, indicated that they tried to catch the warmth of a home with the fabrics they chose for sofas and chairs. Lady Hatice told us, that they took inspiration from the bricks of the building to select colours and instead of choosing dark colours, they selected soft colours particularly blue and green. Lady Hatice informed us about the restaurant and kitchen sections of the hotel, she said that the traditional polyester that restaurants typically use is not used for tablecloths, napkins and tablemats in their restaurant, however bamboo and cotton fabrics are used in their place.

Additionally, they were careful to select stainless and non-creasing fabrics.

Regie Ottoman Hotel opened its doors in 2014, consisting of 34 rooms varying in size. There are 8 roof rooms, 14 superior rooms, 7 deluxe rooms, 3 suits and 1 family room.

Regie Ottoman’s history remains from the bricks to marbles, that are kept in their original form. Their textile products are also selected to remoain inline with the historic textures used during the Ottoman times.

yeşil tonların karışımı, kadife kumaştan yapılan perdeler, mekana ayrı bir hava katmış. Otel Müdürü Hatice Özcan, perdelerde kadife kumaş tercih etmiş olmalarını, dokusunun yumuşak ve sıcak olmasının yanı sıra kadifenin sesi yalıtıyor olma özelliğinin de etkili olduğunu anlattı. Koltuk ve sandalyelerde ise derinin yanında bolca kumaş kullanılmış. Hatice Hanım, koltuk ve sandalyelerde tercih ettikleri kumaşlarla ev sıcaklığını yakalamaya çalıştıklarını belirtti. Renkleri tercih ederken yapının tuğla görüntüsüne uygunluğunu baz aldıklarını söyleyen Hatice Hanım, koyu renkler yerine ağırlıklı mavi ve yeşil olmak üzere soft renkler tercih ettiklerini söyledi. Otelin restaurant ve mutfak bölümüyle ilişkili bilgi edindiğimiz Hatice Hanım, masa örtüsü, peçete ve Amerikan servislerinde polyester kullanmadıklarını, bambu ve pamuklu kumaşlar tercih ettiklerini dile getirdi.

Ayrıca kumaşların leke tutmamasına, yıkanırken ütüsünün bozulmamasına ayrıca dikkat edilmiş.

It is time to see the rooms in Regie Ottoman Hotel, which reflect the features of the old period architecture with its wide stairs and high ceilings. The first thing that grabbed our attention is, undoubtedly its size and its warm setting that makes us feel as thought we are in a house instead of a hotel room. All the textile products, such as bedcovers, curtains, and upholstery fabrics were decided as a result of extensive research.

Yataklar otelin kendi imalatı, yastıklar ise kaz tüyünden yapılmış. Siyah, beyaz ve gri renkli nevresim takımları kullanılan yataklarda, yatak örtüsü yerine şıklık ve düzen katsın diye yine bu renklerde küçük bir kumaş parçası kullanılmış. Nedenini sorduğumuz Otel Müdürü Hatice Hanım, örtünün kullanılmadığını ve müşteriler için yorucu olduğu için böyle bir konsept kullandıklarını anlattı. Yine yatak için kullanılan kumaşların anti alerjik, bambu ve pamuklu olmasına özen gösterilmiş.

Havlular Denizli ve Bursa’dan

Perdeler ve koltuklarda ise yine kadife kullanılmış. Banyoda kullanılan havlu, bornoz ve banyo terliklerini Denizli ve Bursa’dan getirttiklerini söyleyen Hatice Hanım, “Hem yataklarımızda hem banyoda kullandığımız tekstil ürünlerinin kaliteli ve sağlıklı olmasına çok dikkat ettik. Bambu ve pamuklu olanları tercih ettik. Bir otelin kalitesi aynı zamanda kullandığı ürünlerin kalitesine de bağlı.” değerlendirmesinde bulundu.

Régie Ottoman Hotel, tarihten günümüze taşıdığı zenginliğinin yanı sıra müşterilerinin memnuniyeti için kullandığı ev tekstil ürünlerinde gösterdiği hassasiyetle bizlerden tam not aldı.

The hotel specifically produces the beds for all of the rooms, the pillows are made of goose feather.

Black, white and grey bedding sheets are used and a small piece of fabric in these colours is used instead of a duvet cover, for elegancy and order.

When we asked why they do this, the Hotel Manager, Lady Hatice explained that the customers do not use the duvet cover and it is tiring for the customers. Again, the fabrics used for the beds are anti-allergy, bamboo and cotton.

Towels are from Denizli and Bursa

Velvet is used for curtains and sofas. Lady Hatice told us that the towels, bathrobes and bathroom slippers are sourced from Denizli and Bursa, she also said, “We were very careful to select high quality and healthy fabrics for the textile products we use in our bedrooms and bathrooms. We chose bamboo and cotton. The quality of a hotel also depends on the quality of its materials”.

Regie Ottoman Hotel got the thumbs up from us for the sensitivity to the home textile products used for the satisfaction of the customers beside the richness it has carried from the past to present.

It is pretty boring to think of our lives without colours. However, it is important not to forget that using the wrong colours in living spaces can result in a negative effect on our human psychology.

Son yıllarda yapılan araştırmalar renklerin sadece göze ya da zevke hitap etmediğini, estetik bir araç olmanın ötesinde insan psikolojisi üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahip olduğunu ortaya koydu.

Bu nedenle ev dekorasyonunda ve yaşadığımız mekanlarda kullandığımız ürünlerin rengine karar verirken daha dikkatli ve özenli davranmakta fayda var. Her rengin kendine has bir enerjisi ve insan sağlığı üzerinde olumlu ya da olumsuz etkileri olduğu bilinmeli ve buna göre hareket edilmeli. Each colour has its unique energy, positive and negative effects on human health and we should abide by it.

Now, let’s check the mysterious states of the colours and their power on the places we live in, together.

Kırmızı: Coşkuyu, canlılığı, enerjiyi, tutkuyu ve aşkı simgeleyen renktir kırmızı. Kan basıncı ve vücut ısımızı arttıran bu rengin, enerji ve canlılık istenilen alanlarda kullanılması gerekir. Yatak odası ve yemek odalarının vazgeçilmez rengi olan kırmızının çocuk ve genç odalarında ise kullanılması uygun değildir.

Red: Red is the colour that represents enthusiasm, vitality, energy, passion and love. This colour increases our blood pressure and body temperature, and it should be used in the areas where energy and vitality is desired. Red is the essential colour for bedrooms and dining rooms; however it is deemed inappropriate to use it for childrens room.

Turuncu: Güven, mutluluk ve sıcaklık hissi uyandıran bir renktir. Çocuk odaları, mutfak ve koridorlarda kullanılabilir, ancak çalışma ve yatak odaları için pek tavsiye edilmez. Ayrıca turuncunun görünümü daraltma gibi bir özelliği olduğu için geniş mekanlarda kullanmamaya dikkat edin.

Orange: This colour arouses feelings of trust, happiness and warmth. It can be used for kids’ rooms, kitchens and hallways; however it is not advised for workrooms and bedrooms. Also, orange has the feature of perspective reduction, so be careful not to use it in wide spaces.

Mavi: Dinlendirici ve sakinleştirici özelliği olan mavi aynı zamanda sadakatin de rengidir. İştah kesme ve rahatlatma özelliği olan mavinin çalışma odalarında kullanılması uygundur. Yatak odalarında da yine bu rengin kullanılması doğru olacaktır. Koyu rengi tembellik ve bıkkınlık vereceği için çalışma odalarında kullanılmamasına dikkat edilmelidir.

Blue: Blue stimulates relaxation and tranquility and it is the colour of loyalty. Blue has appetite suppressant and comforting features and is best used in workrooms. Blue can also be used in bedrooms, as dark blue colours cause laziness and boredom, which makes is ideal for bedrooms and should be avoided in workrooms.

Yellow: It is a warm colour that represents happiness, cheer, hope and inspiration. This colour is ideal in kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms; however, as it distracts and may reduce concentration, it should not be used in workrooms.

Yellow has relaxation effects and it is especially recommended for quick-tempered people.

Green: Green is the colour of tranquility and calmness. This colour represents nature and it should be used for kitchens, bedrooms and hallways. Green is also known to increase success, making it popular for workrooms.

Purple: It represents creativity and productivity. Light tones of purple should be used for bedrooms and workrooms. It is indicated that purple has important effects on meditation. The colour we call, orchid purple, which is mixture of pink, purple and fuchsia, can be used for almost every corner of our houses.

There is no doubt that tomato sauces are prepared according to everyone’s likes and dislikes. Of course, you can choose what you wish to add to the tomatoes, however, we have lack of time in the city life so the most practical way is generally the best way.

The ingredients you need:

Tomatoes (as many as you need) and red peppers if you wish.

Rock salt Olive oil A sharp knife Masher A big saucepan Jars with lids

Preparation:

Slice the tomatoes and peppers into big pieces. Put them in a big saucepan and boil.

Later, add the rock salt and oil and after they start to boil and vegetables soften, crush them with a masher in the saucepan.

After boiling them one more time, put the mixture in the jars that have recently been kept in hot water or just taken out of the dishwasher, immediately close the lids. Put them upside down and keep for a day.
