DICKSON COUNTY YOUTH ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Buckner Park is home to the Dickson County Youth Athletic Association, a baseball/softball program for boys and girls up to age 18. The association also manages a T-ball, ragball, baseball and softball program for children ages 5-18. Each year more than 400 children participate in league activities that begin in April and run through July. Games are played at Buckner Park. Signups are held in the Rotary Pavilion in January and February. Call the parks department for more details, or visit http://dcyaa.com/ for more information. DICKSON COUNTY SOCCER ASSOCIATION The Dickson County Soccer Association manages a soccer program for players, ages 5 to adult. There are spring and fall seasons. Lakeview Park Located off West Walnut Street on Lakeview Drive in West Dickson, this park overlooks City Lake. It features a lighted sand volleyball court, a playground with safety sand surface, grills and a large picnic shelter with tables and restrooms. The park is available for reservation by calling the parks office (615) 446-1721.

Luther Lake Located on U.S. Highway 70 East next to Colonial Village, the city oversees this 14-acre man-made lake, which is popular for walking, jogging, running, fishing and wildlife watching.

Holland Park Located on Church Street in downtown Dickson, Holland Park is available for use for social occasions, weddings, music or other purposes free of charge. The park includes a covered pavilion and park benches situated around a small fountain. The park is the newest addition to the Parks and Recreation Department’s properties, having been built in 2002. Dickson Housing Authority Located on State Route 47, this facility has a gymnasium and game rooms. Each morning during the cold weather season, the gym is open for walkers at 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. During the afternoon hours, the gym is open for free play activities from 1-5 p.m. The city of Dickson’s J. Lester Speyer Community Recreational Complex Located on Tennsco Drive in the Dickson County Industrial Park, this $3 million facility was built and leased to the city by Tennsco Corp., the county’s largest industrial employer. Park amenities: • Tennsco Community Center: a 7,600-square-foot building with covered entry, seating for 700 theater style or 300 dinner style, a 20-by-30-foot parquet dance floor, a 20-by-15foot stage with lights, a full kitchen with two refrigerators and stoves, ice machine, sinks and serving window, restroom facilities and parking for 300. This facility is available for rent by calling the park office at 446-1721.

Montgomery Bell State Park Vestiges of the iron ore industry that attracted Montgomery Bell and other pioneering entrepreneurs to the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee in the early 1800s are still visible at Montgomery Bell State Park Inn and Conference Center. The nearly 4,000-acre park that today bears the pioneer’s name provides a serene business setting while the park continues to offer individuals and families a range of vacation and recreational opportunities. Located off U.S. Highway 70 – with an entrance also off State Route 47 – the park has 20 miles of hiking trails, including an 11.7-mile overnight trail for those seeking longer outdoor solitude. Three overnight campsites provide trail users rudimentary shelter along the route. Three lakes in the park are open to fishing, and two are open for boating. The park also has a 20-mile mountain bike trail.
