Howdy Mentors! The Office of New Student Programs welcomes you back in 2010! ATMentors is only getting better this year. According to a survey in the fall survey, you wanted to know how to be a better Mentor. Join your fellow Mentors on Wednesday, February 24th to learn more about campus services. Can’t come for the entire time? Look at the schedule and attend the sessions you want to know most about. Lunch will be provided. Schedule and registration is available here.


Marketing ATMentors ATMentors will begin a new marketing campaign in February to encourage the involvement of more staff and faculty members as well as students. Look around campus for the posters below:

AgVenture: Houston On Friday, January 15th, ATMentor, Marisa Suhm, and New Student Programs staff member, Megan Higginbotham took 8 spring transfer and freshmen students on the first AgVenture trip to Houston. The trip included visiting the NASA Space Center, the Museum of Natural Science, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Downtown Aquarium. ATMentors is in the process of planning AgVentures for the summer of 2010. Want to be a part of an AgVenture? E-mail ATMentors@ tamu.edu.

Many organizations are currently recruiting for the spring semester. Check out the University Calendar for organization informational dates and upcoming events. Also, student Activities is a great resource for involvement on campus. Learn More.

...Where can I find a job?

Texas A&M has great resources whether a student is looking for some extra cash or a graduating senior is looking for a career. Jobs for Aggies posts everything from research opportunities to off-campus baby sitting needs. Students can also learn how to manage money by attending one of several workshops offered. Learn More. The Career Center is a great resource for developing resumes, practicing interviews and contacting companies across the nation. Learn More. Several departments and colleges sponsor career fairs that give students the opportunity to meet companies and pass along their resume. Learn More.
