---FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE--Landsport Expands Manufacturing Operations STURGIS, SD (8/11/2014) – Landsport, DBA Advanced Aluminum Structures, announces plans to expand by constructing a 11,500 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in the Sturgis Industrial Park. Landsport has been supplying durable heavy-duty, light-weight aluminum loading ramps for the trucking industry since 1987. Construction is set to start immediately. “I was glad to hear that Landsport will be constructing a new facility in Sturgis,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “When a South Dakota company like Landsport expands operations, it’s a testament to our state’s increasing economic prosperity and stellar business climate.” The expansion will allow Landsport to consolidate their operation from three buildings into one and nearly double their manufacturing footprint. The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) is participating in Landsport’s growth by coordinating OSHA consultations. The equipment layout and work flow will assist Landsport in realizing new manufacturing efficiencies. Landsport General Manager Randy Tinnell states, “The new building and proper equipment layout, including the addition of a bridge crane, will greatly increase the safety and productivity of our employees. We are thankful to everyone who assisted us in taking this major step forward.” Pat Kurtenbach, SEDC President, states, “Landsport’s need to expand is a testament to their quality workmanship, innovative designs, and product support.
