Visitor Kiosks & Pocket Parks The City of Sturgis has placed pocket parks throughout the downtown core. These mini res ng areas include benches and informa onal kiosks. Most prominent on the kiosks are large maps of the downtown and its businesses. Opposite the map is a loca on for flyers for upcoming events. The Chamber is keeping them well stocked with publica ons and area informa on.

Membership News Casteel Honored by Leavitt Group Leavi Group recently awarded Rhonda Casteel with a “Sandra L. Maxwell Account Manager of the Year” award. Rhonda is a personal insurance account manager. “Rhonda Casteel is a true asset to our office, she is an expert in personal lines, farm and ranch insurance, gives value to our customers & we are pleased she won this high honor,” said Derrick Linn, co-owner. Leavi Group noted Casteel’s excellent customer service ability when announcing the award. Rhonda has been with Leavi Heartland Insurance Services since 2004. She and her husband, Ronny, own a ranch near Sturgis and enjoy their me with grandchildren. Congrats!

Sturgis Business Community Alert The Chamber has heard several reports of vagrancy and aggressive panhandling in Sturgis and the surrounding communities. For the safety of your staff and customers, please have a plan in place and notify local law enforcement if there is an issue.

Sturgis Fire Department receive Grant from Leavitt Group The Sturgis Fire Department Leavi Recrea on and Hospitality Insurance awarded the Sturgis Fire Department a $12,700 grant in conjunc on with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company's philanthropic program. Founded in 1863 with a social mission to support the fire service, Fireman's Fund has awarded grants to fire service organiza ons for life-saving equipment, firefighter training and community educa on programs. "With limited budgets, fire departments are o en prevented from buying new or replacing exis ng equipment," said agency manager Chris Hipple of Leavi , "We are proud to be able to support the Sturgis Fire Department in such an impac ul way."
