Places To Travel: Exotic Holiday Destinations There is no response to the question of where are the very best places to travel on vacation. The initial question to ask is not what destination for a go but instead what sort of traveler have you been? What Kind of Traveler Are You? * Are you a Phileas Fogg? Are you a world traveler who measures success by the amount of countries visited? * Are you currently a Robinson Curuso? Would you enjoy the from the way and off the beaten path? * Have you been a Geoffery Chaucer? Could be the trip more about the folks you travel with compared to destination? * Are you currently a Henry David Thoreau? Is your ideal vacation just a quiet place near home? There are lots of different traveling styles or different goals for travel. * You can happen to be move away from it all. * You can happen to be understand a new culture. * You are able to go the party. * You can go reconnect with family and friends. * You are able to travel for adventure. What is Your Travel Style / Budget? Some people prefer to stay in the home than stay in anyplace that did not have 5 stars. Others couldn't imagine staying in any place more fancy than the usual youth hostel. Some who'd love to stay at the fancy resort can't afford to. When you travel you need to find out your travel budget and style. What kind of style you prefer will help determine where you are able to afford to visit and for how long. My spouse and I planned a visit to Hawaii before our first child was born. After looking at our budget we had to choose a road visit to San Diego will be a better option. One if by Land, Two if By Sea... Three if By Air? Do you prefer Places to Visit road trips? If so think about a domestic itinerary. If you want the outside or history you can visit national parks. If you prefer sports think about a tour of major or minor league ballparks. If you want big city lights would a visit to New York, Chicago or Las Vegas be within your range? Do you want cruises? Consider only packing and unpacking once and letting your hotel (ship) travel from port to port. From the East coast of the United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean are

generally easily accessible. From the west coast, Mexico or Alaska offer different vacations. If you like to fly and are able to afford it then Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America beckon. Europe offers familiarity for American visitors but with plenty of history. Europe offers destinations from the familiar London and Paris to less familiar destinations like Croatia, Slovenia and Estonia. You have to be willing to cope with another language or driving on the other side of the road. Africa offers unforgettable wildlife experiences or the wonders of ancient Egypt. In addition, it offers ancient churches dug into the rocks of Ethiopia or remote destinations like Timbuktu. It will demand many travels to have further outside their comfort zone. Asia offers ancient cultures and new economic powerhouses. Your trip could be to overwhelming places like New Delhi which will challenge even veteran travelers or safer more familiar destinations like Singapore. South America offers better exchange rates than Europe but less political stability. It gives European style cities like Buenos Aires or ancient Incan cities like Machu Picchu. A very important factor I have discovered from hosting the Amateur Traveler for over three years is that there are many more places traveling than I'd originally considered. It'd never occurred in my experience to: * Visit Tonga and swim with whales. * Begin to see the stone churches in Ethiopia. * Do an evening tour of Petra in Jordan. * Start to see the wild horses in Mongolia. The more I find out about travel the more places I wish to go. What is the greatest place traveling to? For me, it is obviously the next place. Chris Christensen could be the host of the popular Amateur Traveler travel podcast. Places have Geographical features which are exclusive and unique. Places have been with us for thousands of years and have accumulated an abundant history and associated culture, art, architecture and folklore. It's extremely hard to see these through books or the internet. The places need to be traveled to obtain the authentic experience. Sooner or later in life, after college, after retirement, during business trips, during holidays, a protracted trip outside your country of residence will make you see the world for yourself. With an increasingly global economy, the international travel experience is a resource which is often a major advantage in a competitive situation. There are known and important places which are frequently visited e.g. London, New York and major capitals of Europe and North America. These places have grown to be an amalgamation of different cultures and visitors also turn into a the main same. However, close to the same places and in the same countries, are less known places which have a definite and unique culture and these exotic places have been in general more fun mainly because that which you see there is something

new and about which not much has been written. Mcdougal writes about such places based on his personal experiences during visits to these places.
