From the 23 extraordinary young actors bringing Mary Poppins JR. to life on our intimate stage, to the four amazing actors who will embody the tightly-drawn characters of Tennessee William’s masterpiece, to the super-talented actors and musicians who will blow the roof off the building nightly portraying rock ‘n’ roll royalty in Million Dollar Quartet, our second season as SLO REP – the only nonprofit, professional theatre in SLO County – has something for absolutely everyone! Sondheim’s joyous, musical romp through Rome has desperate lovers, scheming neighbors and secrets behind every toga! A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is a nonstop laugh-fest in which Pseudolus, a crafty slave, struggles to win the hand of a beautiful courtesan named Philia for his young master, Hero, in exchange for freedom. The plot twists and turns with cases of mistaken identity, slamming doors and of course, a showgirl or two along the way. Broadway’s greatest farce is light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent and one of the funniest musicals ever written. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from the time-tested, 2000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright, Plautus, with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville, incomparable music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and hilarious book by Larry Gelbart and Burt Shevelove.

April 19–20, 2019 When a naked photograph of schoolgirl Scarlett goes viral, rumors spread across smartphones like wildfire. Girls Like That focuses on adolescent female friendship and its fragility in the face of societal and cultural pressures.
A staged reading is a form of theatre without sets or full costumes and props. The actors read from scripts, sometimes using music stands. They may be seated, stand in fixed positions, or incorporate minimal stage movement. SLO REP’s staged reading series is named after the infamous trilogy of plays written by Alfred Jarry (Ubu Roi) that were banned from the stage after riots erupted on opening night. Ubu’s Other Shoe pays homage to the spirit of Jarry and to all artists who strive to explore the fringes of their art. This exciting series exists to offer actors, directors and audience members an opportunity to experience incredible plays that do not necessarily fit into our regular main stage season. The Academy of Creative Theatre offers year-round professional theatre arts training and performance opportunities in a lively, supportive, and challenging environment for children ages 5-18. Parking
Late Seating
The best place to park near the theatre is in the 842 Palm Street Parking Structure, located at the corner of Palm and Morro Streets (enter on Palm). The first hour of parking is free, $1.25 per hour thereafter.
The lobby opens one hour before show time. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Our intimate space makes late seating difficult at best, and impossible much of the time. Late seating is not guaranteed and is at the complete discretion of the house manager.
Note: Please allow extra time for parking on Thursday nights due to the weekly SLO Farmers Market. We suggest you plan to arrive at the parking garage by 6 pm to ensure you have plenty of time to find a parking place and take your seats by 7 pm.
Food and Drink The bar is open in the lobby one hour before each performance. You are welcome to bring your drinks into the theatre with you. Please do not bring food into the theatre. We appreciate your help in keeping our theatre clean.
Cameras, Smart Phones, and Other Recording Devices The use of cameras, smart phones, and all other video/audio recording equipment of any kind is strictly prohibited in the theatre. No photos or recordings may be taken inside the theatre.
Note: Seats that remain empty at showtime may be re-assigned to other patrons. In addition, any unclaimed will-call tickets may be made available for purchase to the general public.
Children In general, we do not recommend bringing children under age 5 to SLO REP, except to our Academy of Creative Theatre (ACT) performances, where their attendance is absolutely encouraged!
